Rosie Looney

Rosie Inez Looney, 75, longtime Seminole resident died Jan 5, 2012 in Alva, Oklahoma.

She was born March 21, 1936 in Saddle, Arkansas to Edward E. and Rosie Lucinda (Price) Williams.

Rosie attended schools in Perry, Oklahoma and has lived in Seminole since 1981.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Carlene Thompson of Oklahoma City; three sons, Mike Selvey of San Angelo, Texas, Jeff Selvey of Waynoka and Richard Selvey of Alva; one brother L.E. Williams of Freedom, Indiana and a sister Donna Kay Whisenhunt of Seminole and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her husband Richard Looney and her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, Jan 9, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with burial in Little Cemetery.

Her grandsons will be casket bearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Thomas Lowe

Thomas Lee Lowe, 61, former longtime Seminole resident, died Monday, Feb 20, 2012 at Pauls Valley General Hospital. Thomas had been living in Pauls Valley for several years.

Thomas was born Oct 19, 1950 in Wewoka, to Winfred and Juanita (Jackson) Lowe.

Thomas grew up in Seminole and Wewoka area and attended schools at Strother and Wewoka Public Schools.

He loved all sports and loved to watch Oklahoma and Oklahoma State football on TV.

Thomas is survived by his parents Winfred and Juanita Lowe of Seminole; a brother and sister-in-law Bob and Cherie Lowe of Oklahoma City; a sister and brother-in-law Ann and Ernie Walker of Arapaho, Oklahoma; his nieces and nephews, Steve Lowe, Kevin Walker, Kelly Woodward, Jeni Baker and six great nephews and two great nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb 23, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with burial at Little Cemetery. Rev. Allen Wood will officiate at the service.

Family members will act as casket bearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Jo Lucy

Jo Ree Lucy, 58 year-old, Pauls Valley resident passed from this life Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Oklahoma City.

She was born Feb.12, 1954 in Pauls Valley to parents Kathrine (Golightly) Lucy and Mosco Frank Lucy.

Jo Ree graduated from Maysville High School in 1972 and went on to earn her L.P.N. degree.

She worked as and L.P.N. in various nursing homes and hospitals around the Pauls Valley area.

Jo Ree was also of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Debby Lucy of Ada and a host of other family and dear friends.

Jo Ree is preceded in death by her parents, Kathrine and Mosco Lucy.

The family will be receiving friends Friday, July 12, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2012 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with Rev. Jim Price of Lindsay, Oklahoma officiating the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Daniel Lunn

Daniel "Danny" Ray Lunn was born May 17, 1952 in French Camp, CA to his mother, Norma Jean Marler and father, Eugene Vinard Lunn.

He spent his younger years in California where he met a beautiful woman by the name of Marvell Johnson, that would later become his wife.

Danny and Marty Lunn moved to Oklahoma in 1982 where Danny worked construction for numerous local companies.

Danny enjoyed playing pool, fishing, hanging with longtime friend, Darrell Cherry and his buddies and having a cold beer!

He cherished his grand and great grandchildren even though they might not have realized it.

Danny had become a member of the Lord’s Community Church in Seminole. He was so impressed with Pastor Jim Moreland preaching he said, "That man will make a man WANT to Go to Church!"

Danny went home to Jesus on Oct. 11, 2012.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Norman Jean and step-father, Don Sexton and his father, Eugene Vinard Lunn. Also his life long friend Darrell Cherry.

He is survived by his wife, Marty Lunn; son, Daniel Lunn Jr and wife, Michelle of Wewoka; son, Clint Lunn of Oklahoma City; and daughter, Anya Lavon Burns of WEwoka.

He is also survived by his brother, Don Lunn and his wife Sarah and their children of Ava, MO. His is also survived by his grandchildren, Candice Shaw, Kevonte Chandler, Alex and Amanda Caesar, Malcolm and Jojo Lunn of Wewoka, Johnathon and Sharie Lunn of Delhi, CA and Max Ceska of Livingston, CA.

Danny was a special father and man who will be greatly missed and he was loved by all that had the pleasure of knowing him, he was unconditionally loved!!

Services will be Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Life Church in Wewoka with Reverend Jim Moreland officiating.

Services are under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home in Wetumka.

Alta Lunsford

Alta Levon (Menser) Lunsford, 80, resident of Konawa died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Ballard’s Nursing Home in Ada.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10th at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Rev. Mona Fulks will officiate, and burial will follow at Dora Cemetery, north of Konawa.

Pallbearers are Leo Lane, Darrell Stinett, Dale Radford, Melvin Mullins, Jeff Spencer, Frank Shirley, Tony Lowry, Bob Sanders and Bob Rounsaville.

The grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

She was born April 21, 1932 in Shawnee to E. J. Menser and Ruth Nell (Burton) Menser.

She was the owner and operator of the Philler-Upper Restaurant in Konawa for forty years.

She is survived by three sons, Steven Lunsford of Ada, Ron Lunsford of Konawa, and Paul Jeffrey of Ada; one daughter, Patricia Cravens of Blanchard; three sisters, Wanda Peek of Stroud, Tootsie Hudson also of Stroud, and Neva Hughes of Garr Corner; six grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E. J. and Ruth Nell Menser, and one brother, Gene Menser.

Glover Mainord

Glover F. Mainord, 91, Shawnee resident died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Rose Manor Nursing Home in Shawnee.

Glover had lived in Seminole for over 61 years before moving to Shawnee.

Glover was born April 24, 1921 in Bryant, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Celia Ann (Hardin) Mainord.

Mr. Mainord was a longtime welder for Atlantic Richfield in the Seminole Oilfields and he retired in 1986 with British Petroleum.

He was a member of the Downtown Pentecostal Church in Shawnee where he was very active.

Glover is survived by his wife of 70 years, Katherine (Brown) Mainord of Shawnee; his son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Amybeth Mainord of Shawnee; a daughter, Givoanna MacHugh and Bill Ogletree of Baytown, Texas.

He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kelly (Mainord) and Hossein Ghara of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Amanda (Mainord) and Donald Reeves of Monroe, Louisiana, Marshall and Leah MacHugh, Lindsay and Anthony Mirrione of Oklahoma City and by his great grandchildren Jordan Amirkhani of Canterbury, England, Sophie Amirkhani of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Analeise Reeves of Nashville, Tennessee, John Clay Reeves of Monroe, Louisiana, Isabelle Strecker, Vincent Mirrione and Holden MacHugh all of Oklahoma City. His sister Wanda McPherren of Oklahoma City also survives him.

Glover was preceded in death by his parents; eight sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with burial at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Rev. Fred Shipman and Rev. Ron Baldridge will officiate at the service.

Casket bearers will be Robert Foxx, Terry Callendar, Claire Hehnly, Charles Holbrook, Olen Thompson and Kenneth Harbeston.

Honorary bearers will be Bill Currens, John Inda, Chuck Vrana, Willie Higgins, Pat Hathcock and Joe Wallack.

The family will receive friends at a visitation at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorial donations may be sent in lieu of flowers to: Heartland Hospice, 2802 N. Kickapoo, Shawnee, Oklahoma, 74804.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Debrah Manasco

Debrah Lynn Manasco, 58, of Konawa, formerly of Altus, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan 9, 2012 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Lt. Joseph Price officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Debrah was born Jan 13, 1953 to Grady and Ethel Vann in Muskogee.

She moved with her family to Martha, Oklahoma in 1957. She lived there and in the Altus area most of her life.

She married Charles Manasco June 18, 1983 in Alva.

Debrah loved to garden, quilt, read, and especially play with her grandchildren and her dogs.

Her father and mother, Grady and Ethel Vann; one son, David Mikel; two step-sisters, Jackie and Joann of California preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; one daughter, Lynda Boyle and husband, Beau, of Blanchard; two step-daughters, Lisa Stout and husband, Gregg, of North Carolina, Cindy McKinley of Kansas; two brothers, Grady Vann, Jr., and wife, Lynda, of Altus, Billy Vann of Panama City, FL; one half brother, Donn Vann and wife, Marion, of Bakersfield, CA; four brothers-in-law, James Manasco and wife, Margaret, Estel Manasco, Douglas Manasco and wife, Janie, all of KY and Everett Manasco and wife, Lovan, of IL; two sisters-in-law, Marie Wade and Betty Daugherty both of KY; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friends, Randi Sampler of Oklahoma City and Robin Gerlt, and Nannie and Don Davenport of Altus; and a special cousin Brenda Longoria.

E.O. Martin

E.O. Martin, 84, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, in Bowie, Texas.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the First Christian Church of Bowie with Kristi Hand officiating.

He was born May 2, 1928, to Erza and Rubia (Gill) Martin near Seminole.

He attended school at Maud High School.

He entered the United States Marine Corps during 1946 through 1947.

He married Marvella Crook on May 1, 1948, in Maud.

He graduated from East Central State College in Ada and was employed to coach basketball at his home high school in Maud.

He worked at Warren Petroleum Corporation in Wichita Falls; a Principal at a Texas school; Superintendent of Schools at Gold-Burg; Elementary Principal at Georgetown School and a Business Manager of the Bowie Independent School District.

He served as City Manager of Bowie for several months and also as Mayor of Bowie.

He is survived by his wife, Marvella Martin; two daughters, Marsha and Marta; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
