Buddy Carl Lackey

Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Buddy Carl "Bud" Lackey are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church.

Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate. Interment is to follow services at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Lackey, 62, died Saturday, July 2, 2005. He was born April 10, 1943 in Haleyville, Okla. to Willianm I. Lackey and Mildred (Kato) Lackey.

He attended school in El Reno and has been a Wewoka resident for most of his life.

Lackey married Suzanne Miller on March 23, 1979 and he worked as a plumber for his best friend Jimmy Azlin, at Azlin’s Plumbing.

He was a member of the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church in Wewoka, and was an avid fisherman.

His parents; one brother, Dave Lackey and one son, Steve lackey preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Suzanne "Hokti" Lackey of the home; children, Carl W. Lackey of Kansas, Brenda Lackey of Washington and Eddie Lackey of Washington; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers for the services will be Jim Azlin, Tony Azlin, Tommy Azlin, Arthur Redding, Eddie Boatman and Mike Miller.

Honorary bearers will ne Robert Corsey, Lynn Myers, Billy Stephens and Grant Smith.

John F. Lacquement Jr.

Funeral services for John F. Lacquement Jr. of Midwest City will be held on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Chaplain Larry Sparks to officiate.

Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.

Visitation with the family will be at Parks Brothers Funeral Home 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday.

Lacquement, 65, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005. He was born July 15, 1939 in Prague to John, Sr. and Ethel (Poe) Lacquement.

John was a Master Mason of the Midwest City Lodge #532. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1994.

Frank’s family was his life – a life that was extended by a heart transplant in 1995, a gift for which the family is eternally grateful.

He also enjoyed deer hunting and antiquing. John loved to cook and was famous for his ribs.

His parents; first wife of eight years, Carol Faye (Peck); and brothers, Frank Lacquement of Bethel and Dean Lacquement of Yukon, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Nelda of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, John Lacquement III of Oklahoma City, Jeffery and Phyllis Lacquement of Sallisaw and Eric Lacquement of Midwest City and stepdaughter Dana Pickett and her husband Gerald of Seminole.

In addition, four grandchildren, Travis Lacquement of Oklahoma City, Keven and Jared Lacquement of Sallisaw and Taryn Harder and her husband Justin of Edmond and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, survive.

LeRoy Lancaster

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident LeRoy Lancaster are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Forest Weist of Twin Oaks Baptist Church officiating.

Colt Kreeger, nephew of the deceased will provide the eulogy and burial will follow services at Little Cemetery.

Lancaster, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at Midwest City Regional Hospital. He was born to E.L. Lancaster and Marie (Moutaw) Morton on April 24, 1938 in Duncan.

He attended Twin Oak and Varnum Schools and he served in the United States Air Force for five years.

Lancaster worked in the oilfield for BJ Hughes before retiring. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church for over 22 years.

His parents and one stepson, Ricky McDonald preceded him in death.

Surviving him are his wife Geraldine of the home; three daughters, Debra Barnes of Carl Junction, Mo., Donna Bishop of Mulberry, Ark. and Sandy Boughton of Ft. Smith, Ark.; one stepson, Terry McDonald of Greenly, Colo.; one brother, Jerry Don Lancaster and a sister, LaVonne Ware, both of Seminole and one step brother, Bob Morton of Carl Junction, Mo.

In addition, he has six grandchildren; a very dear friend, John Lovelady; and a very special little boy, Benjaman Robbins surviving him.

Pallbearers for the services will be nephews, Jeff Dean, Kyle Kreeger, Scott and Brad Lancaster, and Justin and Loren Vaughan.

Honorary bearers will be Sonny Bailey, Eric Vaughan, Shane Sorrells, Danny Kreeger, Steve Dean, Barry Lancaster, John Lovelady, Jim Barnes, Junior Evans and the men of Twin Oak Baptist Church.

Linda Lance

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Malinda Lavey "Linda" Lance, of Union Valley, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Tony Buck will officiate and the burial will follow services at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.

Lance, age 61, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1943 in Holdenville to Barney and Georgia Sharp Clifton.

She attended Lillian’s Beauty School in Ada in 1966 and married Ken Lance in 1994 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Lance was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Ken Lance, of the home; three daughters from Tommy Spears, her former husband of 23 years, Kim Ward of Ada, Tracey Morris of Sasakwa and Casey Thomas and husband Trevor of Union Valley.

In addition are nine grandchildren, Brandy White, Jami Ward, Stoney Ward, Ashly Ward, Kyle Moore, Sidney Morris, Zachary Morris, Kaleb and Kash Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Johnathon, Alissa and Madison White and Trent East; three brothers, Wayne Clifton and wife Jackie of Sasakwa, Jackie Blankenship and wife Debra of Holdenville and Donnie Blankenship and wife Norma of Sasakwa and two sisters, Charlotte Johnson and husband Stewart of Byng and Vickie Sweeden of Sasakwa.

Bearers for the services will be Ricky Harjo, Billy Clifton, Richard Clifton, Norman Moore, Shane Blankenship, Shawn Blankenship, David Blanketship and John White.

Honorary bearers will be Buddy Womack, Tony Womack, Ray Griffith, Corky Norman, Jimmy Harjo and Rocky Ward.

Maud ‘Bobbie’ E. Land

Seminole resident Maud "Bobbie" E. Land died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at her home. She was 86.

No services are scheduled at this time. Her remains are to be cremated.

Land was born in Sydney, Australia on July 27, 1919, to Fred Stanborough and Minnie (Murray) Stanborough.

She married Max V. Land on July 23, 1943, in Brisbane, Australia.

Land was a retired nurses aide working with the flying Dr.’s of Australia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Mona, Freda, Barbara, Shirley, and Midge of Australia; and brother, Tom Stanborough.

Land is survived by her husband, Max V. Land of the home; two sons, Roderick Land of Bella Vista, Ark., and Ray Land of Elk Grove, Calif.; one daughter, Shirley Bleeker of Cromwell; two brothers, Boy Stanborough of Sydney, Australia and Arthur Stanborough of Sydney, Australia; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Donnie Laneave

Funeral services for Sasakwa resident Donnie Inez Laneave are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church, Sasakwa with Rev. Wesley Martin officiating.

Interment is to follow at Rossville Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Laneave, 73, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at Heritage Nursing Home in Holdenville. She was born Sept. 13, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Shelby Charles Haworth and Jeanie Mae (Claton) Haworth.

She was a homemaker and provider who was affiliated with The Assembly of God Church.

Her parents; one brother, Shelby Charles Jr. "Sonny Boy" and one sister, Ozella Hall preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Harvey Thompson Jr. and Donnie Thompson, both of Oklahoma City and Larry Thompson of Ft. Worth, Texas; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

J.D. Laudermilk

Funeral services for longtime Maud resident J.D. Laudermilk are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate.

Services will be officiated by Rev. Vance Bowman

Interment is to follow service at Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service.

J.D., age 70, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 in Oklahoma City. He was born Feb. 19, 1935 in Briartown to Amos and Nettie Jane (Simmons) Laudermilk.

On July 7, 1958 he married Ruby Jewel Fort at Durant, she preceded him in death on April 24, 2004.

In addition, his parents; two sisters, Shirley Wallace and Sug James and two brothers, Raymond Laudermilk and Buddy Laudermilk preceded him in death.

J.D. retired in 1987 from Pipe Fitters Local Union #100. He was also decorated with honors for his service as a Korean Veteran and was a former Golden Glove contender.

He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Shawnee.

Surviving him are his two children, Rhonda Lay and husband Dean of Seminole and Darrin Laudermilk and wife Rhonda of Paris, Texas; five grandchildren, Brandie Lucas, Ryen Lay, Rena Lay, Tiphannie Lay and Buddy Laudermilk; brother, Herbert Laudermilk; sister, Pete James and a host of other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Pallbearers for the services will be Dean Lay, Leon Lay, Dean Head, Bennie Lucich, Amos Laudermilk and Jerry Wane Laudermilk.

Honorary bearers are to be Otis James and Buddy Laudermilk.
