LaDonna Stewart

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident LaDonna Stewart are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Funeal Chapel with Rev. Randy Harrington and Re. George Doyle officiating.

Interment is to follow at Davis Family Cemetery, Sasakwa, and arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Wake services are scheduled from 3- 5 p.m. on Sunday at the chapel.

Stewart, of Tulsa, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at the age of 37 years, after a battle with diabetes. She was born May 16, 1970 in Talihina to George and Ruby (Lindsey) Stewart.

She graduated from Sasakwa High School and was a member of the Owen Park Baptist Church, Tulsa.

Stewart enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Billie of the home; daughters: Kayla Billie, Krytina Billie, and Ruby Billie, all of Tulsa; stepson, Joseph Billie of Tulsa; and siblings: Dewayne Stewart of Tulsa, Kathleen Stewart of Okmulgee, Mandy McCulley of Shawnee, Nancy Stewart of Tulsa and George Willow of Wyoming,

Pallbearers for the services will be: Joseph Billie, William Wind, Dewayne Stewart, Noah Dowing, Jake Billie, and Kevin McCulley.

Stella Streater

Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka area resident Stella Streater are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, Wewoka.

Interment is to follow at Tate Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Stella passed from this life at her beloved home after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. She was born in Limestone Community, south of Wewoka, to D.F. and Ethel (Merriman) Barkhimer on Nov. 16, 1930.

While her children attended school at the small independent school at Limestone, she worked tirelessly at all school functions and fundraisers and did everything from substitute school bus driver to cook lunches.

Stella was always ready to help anyone at anytime.

On May 10, 1947 she married Chester "Sonny" Streater in Holdenville and they made their home south of Wewoka.

She immensely enjoyed her garden and flowers, but the love of her life was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a fabulous cook and no one ever left her house hungry.

Stella is survived by her husband, Chester Streater of Wewoka; son, David Streater and wife Edna of Wewoka; daughters, Sandy Stafford and husband James R. of Holdenville and Debbie Gillion and husband Fred of Wewoka; brother, L.M. Barkhimer of Wewoka and sisters, Ella Norman of Sasakwa and Zella Dansby of Wewoka.

Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Pat Barkhimer of Wewoka; her devoted grandchildren, Shawn Streater and wife Angela of Tuttle, Aron Streater and wife Cathi of Ada, Sonny J. Stafford of New York, N.Y., Josh Nalley and wife Sandy of Wewoka, Reva Martin and husband Rodney of Seminole and great-grandchildren, Kade and Gage Streater of Tuttle, Eileigh, Taydon and Davron Streater of Ada, Karmen Nalley of Wewoka and Calley and Andrea Martin of Seminole.

In addition, she is survived by a multitude of other caring family, many special nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Stell, and a host of friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, J.D. Barkhimer.

Pallbearers for the services will be her grandchildren: Shawn Streater, Aron Streater, Sonny Stafford, Josh Nalley and Reva Martin, and her sons-in-law, James Stafford and Fred Gillion.

James Stuckey

Memorial services for former Seminole resident James "Jim" Dewey Stuckey are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at True Oak fellowship in Tuttle.

Stuckey, 74, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007. He was born Aug. 29, 1932 in Pharoah, Okla., to Edna (Marler) and Elmer D. Stuckey.

He graduated from Seminole High School and served in the United States Navy.

On March 7, 1955 he married Mary Nell Byerly and they spent 52 years together before her death on Feb. 24, 2007.

Stuckey retired from Southern Production Program, Inc. in Oklahoma City as the Executive Director. He was also an internationally known wood turner and enjoyed gardening and his cats.

Survivors include daughter, Susan Ford of Newcastle; son, Brad Stuckey of Tuttle; three grandchildren; brothers, Dwight Stuckey of Granbury, Texas, David Stuckey of Texas and Leon Stuckey of Midwest City and sisters, Linda Gourley of San Angelo, Texas, Roberta Disney of Carlsbad, N.M.

His parents, wife and a granddaughter preceded him in death.

Patrick Sullivan

Holy communion memorial service is scheduled for Patrick Noel Sullivan at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church.

Inurnment ceremony will take place at Trinity by the Sea. Services are under the direction of Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Home, 1222 Morgan Ave, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Patrick Noel Sullivan passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on March 9, 1930 in Shawnee to Jack Sullivan and Ada Florence Oliver.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Patrick was a retired attorney and member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Patrick attended the University of Oklahoma, attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1957, and acquiring a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1960.

He was admitted to the Bar of the State of Oklahoma in 1960 and engaged in the private practice of law, briefly serving as assistant county district attorney in Comanche County, Oklahoma for 1961 to 1963.

Patrick was appointed to the Council of Campaign Compliance and Ethical Standards, formerly the Oklahoma Ethics Commission, from 1989 to 1991.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Carol S. Sullivan; his son and daughter-in-law, Sean Patrick Sullivan and Lori Annette of Lawton, Oklahoma, and daughter, Tracy Noel Sullivan Schierenbeck of Niskayuna, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Abigail Ann Sullivan, Everett Patrick Schierenbeck and Addison Michael Schierenbeck.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patrick’s memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of Trinity of Sea Episcopal Church, 433 Trojan, Port Aransas, Texas 78373, or to National Jewish Hospital, Denver, Colo.

Estelle Sutton

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Estelle Blackwood Sutton are scheduled at 2 p.m., Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Sutton died Monday, June 18, 2007 in Picayune, Miss. where she had resided for the past eight years. She was born Dec. 16, 1919 in Howard County, Ark.

She moved with her family to Seminole County as a small child. She attended Vamoosa schools and married Clyde Sutton in 1942.

They moved to Seminole in 1947 where they raised their family, and she lived for more than fifty years. She was a member of Harvey Road Baptist Church.

Sutton was a homemaker, an avid gardener, and worked for many years at the Miller Plant Farm in Seminole.

Her parents, Andrew Blackwood and Sallie Aylor Blackwood; six brothers; four sisters; her husband Clyde, and her son, Ronnie Sutton preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Sutton McKellip of Picayune, Miss., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Elmer Taber

Services for longtime Shawnee resident Elmer E. Taber will be 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom E. Cox officiating.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee.

Elmer E. Taber, 94, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007 at his home in Shawnee. Elmer was born on Jan. 2, 1913 in the Garden Grove area near Prague, to Isaac and Emma Jane (Martin) Taber.

He attended Valley View School. Elmer married the love of his life, Hazel Reavis, Aug. 24, 1935 in Shawnee and they enjoyed 72 years together.

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Elmer loved horses, and spending most of his life in farming, ranching, and oil well pumping, his love of horses started at a young age. He also enjoyed quail hunting and telling stories about Jim Thorpe.

Elmer is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl (Pete) Taber.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Reavis Taber of the home; sister, Eula Taber Gaskill of Shawnee; children, W.E. "Ernie" Taber of Shawnee and Janita Kennedy of Cromwell; grandchildren, David Taber and wife Dawn, and their children, Ashley, Andrew, and Abbey; Greg Taber and wife Kimberley and their children, Ryan, Ethan, and Madison; Robert Moneypenny; Russell Moneypenny and wife Robin and their children, Zane and Riley; Randy Moneypenny and wife Jan and their children, Reese and Andrew; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and his caregivers, Leta Skaggs and Oleta Williams.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the kind and caring staff of Heartland Hospice.

Visitation will be Sunday from 12 –8 p.m.

Andi Talamasey

Funeral services for Seminole native Andi Duan Talamasey are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, southwest of Wewoka.

An evening wake service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight at Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Burial will follow services at the Tanyan Family Cemetery, northeast of Seminole, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Talamasey, 37 of Oklahoma City, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007 in Oklahoma City. She was born Nov. 29, 1969 in Seminole to Andrew Wise and Carolyn (Tanyan) Talamasey.

She grew up in Seminole as a child and attended and graduated from Seminole High School in 1987.

Talamasey was a member of the Mekusukey Indian Baptist Church and was an avid OU fan. She was a homemaker and a former childcare worker for several children’s day care centers.

Her grandparents, Lorene Coody Tiger, Johan Talamasey, Ben Tanyan and Nehi Talamasey; one sister, Phena Jo Talamasey; and one brother, Jesse Talamasey preceded her in death.

Surviving is one daughter, Justice Conway and one son, Adan Conway, both of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Madelyn Pebworth of Oklahoma City and Morning Star Jumper of Florida; three brothers, Tracy Lindsay of Shawnee, Timmie Casselman of Seminole and Bobby Clower of Seminole; special friends, Jason Star of Oklahoma City; longtime friend and father of her children, Lawrence Conway of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter; and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be: Robert Lee, Josh Henshaw, Jonathan Tebe, Ronnie Burnside, Fous Ahaisse and Allan Fields.

Bob Talley

Funeral services for Bob Carl Talley are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

On Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 at 8:13 p.m., the battleground was silenced. Bob Carl Talley fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer and he died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob was born on May 11, 1929 in Tulsa to Troy and Edna Talley.

He served in the United States Army Signal Corp for years (1946-1951), most of that time was spent in the Philippine Islands installing communication lines across the jungles.

Plans to go to college changed when Bob took a Dale Carnegie course and pursued his own business.

In 1955 he opened Tallie Home Appliance Center in Wichita, Kan. and added four other stores plus a service department.

His interest in computers led to the development of Gold Seal Computer Systems in 1967 in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., serving the tourist industry.

A-One Security, his current operating business, was established in 1979 to sell, service and install security systems for businesses and homes.

Bob’s wife, Velva, joined him in 1986 to help run the business. She and her children continue to run the family business today.

Bob was outgoing, adventurous, intelligent and had an overwhelming love for people. He was a loving husband, protective father, devoted son and brother, and a loyal friend.

Exceptionally patient, even-mannered and diligent, Bob’s caring nature was an anchor to his family and loved ones. He will be remembered as a figure of strength and generosity that truly valued those with whom he spent his life. In short, Bob was a phenomenal man who will be dearly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his two sons, Kurt Talley and Mark Talley; his parents and stepfather, Emmett Stout; his brother, Ermond Talley and sister Wilta Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Velva Talley of Oklahoma City; four daughters, Kerry Anne Talley of Oklahoma City, Cindy Haney of Sacramento, Calif., Lori Talley of Chicago, Ill. and Amy Estabrooks of Oklahoma City; four granddaughters, Avie-Ann Talley of Ada, Lauren Keck of Oklahoma City, Christie Elizar of Goodletsville, Tenn. and Rachelle Rodriguez of Portland, Ore.; three grandsons, Jeremy Talley of Kansas City, Mo., Stephen Keck of Oklahoma City and David Matthews of Warsaw, Mo.; two great-grandson, Christopher Robin Estabrooks, Jr. and Jonathan Estabrooks, both of Oklahoma City; two great-granddaughters, Gabriel Elizar of Goodlesville, Tenn. and Xenia Rodriguez of Portland, Ore.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
