Danny Kreeger

Danny Allen Kreeger, 60-year-old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born February 27, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico to parents, Billy Wayne Kreeger and Billie A. (Goodwin) Kreeger.

A graduate of Seminole High School in 1974, Dan earned his Associate’s Degree from Seminole State College in 1976.

On July 26, 1975 Dan married Jane Ware at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. Their wonderful marriage lasted nearly forty-one years. They had two sons, three grandchildren, and made many wonderful memories together. Dan was a hardworking and admirable father, providing and caring for his family throughout the years.

For over 35 years, Dan owned and operated Specialty Tire LLC. on East Broadway Street, here in Seminole, OK . It seemed like Dan knew nearly everyone in the Seminole community, providing them tires and services on their vehicles for more than three decades.

Customers became friends, and Dan was known to barter by trading tires for local goods to help those who didn’t have money to pay. He often forgave debts due to death or illness and quietly helped many people. If a man passed away that owed a debt Dan would never ask a widow to pay, and instead would consider the debt forgiven. Dan was a tireless worker and trustworthy businessman. His presence in the community will be missed. He leaves the company in the hands of his eldest son, Kyle.

Dan was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Seminole. He had fond memories of his time in the youth group. Later in life, Dan supported his youngest son, Colt, as he entered ministry and began work as a missionary and pastor.

Dan loved the town of Seminole and was active in the community in many ways. He participated in local fishing and hunting clubs, and had numerous lifelong friendships with local residents. He had a lifetime hunting and fishing license and made good use of it. Dan was a Buckmaster scorer and enjoyed hunters bringing their prize deer antlers down to his shop.

Many in the area know Dan through his 17 years of work with the Seminole Tiny Chiefs Football Association. For most of those years, Dan served as chairman and organized games, coordinated coaches and teams, maintained equipment, and so much more.

Dan and his best friend, Ron Hill, began this work as a way to support their children throughout their Tiny Chief years. Dan continued running the organization long after his boys and nephews were no longer participating; seeing the smiles on young players and cheerleaders was a joy to him. He touched many young lives.

Dan was happiest when he was with friends, spending time at the lake, or hunting for deer and turkey. He was an outdoorsman from the days of his youth, and an excellent deer hunter. Dan worked as hard as anyone, but he always took time to relax through boating sand bass fishing at Lake Eufaula, or watching the forest from a tree stand on Tate Mountain.

He built his dream house at Lake Eufaula and intended to spend many summer and holiday weekends there with family and friends. Dan left this life too soon, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dan leaves to cherish his memories his wife of almost 41 years, Jane (Ware) Kreeger of the home; two sons, Kyle Kreeger of Seminole, Oklahoma, Colt Kreeger and his wife Heather of Greeley, Colorado; his father, Bill Kreeger of Seminole, Oklahoma; his sister, Mitzi and her husband Gene Houck of Seminole, Oklahoma; his mother-in-law, LaVonne Ware of Seminole, Oklahoma; his sister-in-law, Teresa and Steve Dean of Seminole; three grandchildren, Jackson, Reece, Jett Kreeger all of Seminole, Oklahoma; two very special friends, Ron and Joyce Hill of Seminole, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a number of dear friends. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Kreeger (2013); by one brother, Derrell Kreeger (2008); and by his father-in-law, Jim Ware (2001).

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Seminole First Baptist Church located at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole on Hwy. 99.

Serving as pallbearers: Kyle Kreeger, Colt Kreeger, Kade Houck, Chad Houck, Jeff Dean, Mike Duncan. Honorary Pallbearers: Ron Hill, Randy Chaffin, Zane White, Chuck Stennett, Dwayne Goodnight, Gene Houck, Steve Dean, Rodney May, Gerald Jones, David Wilson.

In honor of Dan’s memory, donations can be made to the Oklahoma chapter of "Hunters Against Hunger" by going to http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/donations/hah.aspx.
