SOPHIA M. DEEG
Service were held for Sophia M. (Schwarz) Deeg, 92, of the Lutheran Home at Topton, formerly of Boyertown, who died February 2 at her residence.
She was the widow of George Deeg Jr.
Born in Germany, she was a homemaker.
There are no immediate survivors.
The arrangements were handled by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Boyertown.

CAROLYN M. HAFNER
Private funeral services and burial were held for Carolyn N. (McElroy) Hafner, 38, of Spring City, formerly of Boyertown, and Royersford, who died February 4 in Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of Charles P. Hafner Sr. and Cynthia M. (Babacz) Hafner, both of Royersford.
She graduated from Spring-Ford High School in 1982.
Surviving with her parents are two brothers.
Contributions may be made to the Phoenixville Hospital Burton Fund, 140 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
The arrangements were handled by the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home in Royersford.

JOHN A. SLONAKER
A memorial service was held for John A. Slonaker, 67, husband of Nancy J. (Gehris) Slonaker of Reifsnyder Road in New Hanover, who died February 5 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Frederick, he worked on the family dairy farm in Frederick until he retired in 1996. For 12 years, he also owned a dairy farm in Troy, Bradford County.
He was a member of New Hanover United Methodist Church in Gilbertsville.
He was a life member of the Sassamansville and Gilbertsville Fire Companies.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 39 years are a son, Timothy Cartmell of Bechtelsville; a brother, Leroy Slonaker of Boyertown; two sisters, Pearl Fisher of Sumneytown and Anna Jane Landis of Huff’s Church; and four grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525.
The arrangements were handled by the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville.

SHANE A. GUHL
Services were held for Shane A. Guhl, 26, of Willliamstown, N.J., formerly of Boyertown, who died February 5 in Hammonton, N.J.
Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Richard D. and Jean A. (Grandy) Guhl of Boyertown.
He graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School.
Guhl was employed as a diesel mechanic for Universal Supply in Hammonton, N.J.
He was a member of the Norco Fire Co.
Surviving in addition to his parents are paternal grandparents, Richard and Jane Guhl of Boyertown; and a paternal grandmother, Ginny Hahn of Doylestown.
Contributions may be made to the Norco Fire Co., 144 W. Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.
The Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home, Pottstown, handled the arrangements.

HENRY G. AUMAN
Services were held for Henry G. Auman, 93, of Kramer Mill Road, Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, who died February 7 in Denver Nursing Home, where he had been a patient since 2002.
His wife, Rose E. (Frederick) Auman, died in 1988.
Born in Oley Township, he was employed for many years by Victor F. Weaver’s Chicken, New Holland, before his retirement.
He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, Lancaster County.
Auman is survived by a sister, Eva (Auman) Reider, Oley.
There are also six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard A. Weaver Sr.
Burial was in Muddy Creek Cemetery , Swartzville.
Roseboro Funeral Home, Denver, handled the arrangements.

MARGARET E. LYNCH
Private funeral services were held for Margaret E. (Storm) Lynch, 89, of Lower Pottsgrove, who died February 8 in the Sanatoga Center.
Born in Pottstown, she graduated from Pottstown High School and from Hood College in Frederick, Md.
She was a home economics teacher in the Boyertown School District before becoming a homemaker.
Lynch was a lifelong member of the Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Pottstown.
She was a former president of the Pottstown Memorial Hospital, East Auxiliary, a former President of the Pottstown Hood Club, and a Red Cross volunteer for the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Surviving are a son, Joseph H. Lynch Jr. of Haddonfield, N.J.; two daughters, Charlotte Storm Lynch Derr and Barbara Anne Lynch Casper, both of Lower Pottsgrove; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers.
Contributions may be made to the Transfiguration Lutheran Church, Hanover and Chestnut streets, Pottstown, Pa. 19464.
The arrangements were handled by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home in Pottstown.

EARL W. ECKERT
Graveside services were held for Earl W. Eckert, 75, of Sand Hill Road, Ruscombmanor Township, who died February 7 while shoveling snow at his residence.
He was the husband of Theresa J. (Eckenroth) Eckert.
Born in Exeter Township, he had been employed for 20 years as a machine operator by Eastern Machine Products, Reading, retiring in 1992.
He was an Army veteran.
Eckert is also survived by a daughter, Brenda Lee Eckert, Bernville, and a son, Steven E., West Lawn.
Other survivors include a brother and two sisters.
Burial was in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
The Bean Funeral Home Inc., Reading, was in charge of the arrangements.

DONALD L. MOYER
Funeral services will be held for Donald L. Moyer, 64, husband of Joyce M. (Evans) Moyer, of North Keim Street, Lower Pottsgrove, who died February 7 at his home.
Born in Gilbertsville, he was a son of Elda (Herbst) Eckert of Birdsboro and the late William C. Moyer.
Moyer was a graduate of Boyertown High School in 1957.
He retired in 1976 from Bethlehem Steel in Pottstown, and worked at the former Gables Quarry, now Martin’s Quarry, in Bechtelsville until his death.
He attended Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Boyertown.
Moyer was a volunteer firefighter for 45 years and spent the last 10 years as the president of the New Hanover Fire Co. He was a past assistant chief of the Ringing Hill Fire Co. and a past member of the Gilbertsville Fire Co.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, William C. Moyer of New Hanover and Sterling L. Moyer of Lower Pottsgrove; two daughters, Carol M. Vose of Gilbertsville and Alicia J. Reinert of Fleetwood; two stepbrothers; and seven grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to the church building fund or to the New Hanover Fire Co. Truck Fund, 2154 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 250 Swinehart Road, Boyertown, with the Rev. Kevin E. Leibensperger, the Rev. Wilmer Martin and the Rev. Donald McHenry officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.
The Catagnus Funeral Home, Gilbertsville, handled the arrangements.

SALLIE MAE GABY
A memorial service was held for Sallie Mae Gaby, 74, of Austin Texas, who passed away on February 3.
She is survived by her husband, Roger I. Gaby.
Gaby was born on the Stauffer Family Farm in Eshbach.
She traveled the world with her husband and children.
Gaby was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and sat on the Del Valle ISD/VFW Jet Display Committee.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Eugene Gaby, Susan Smith, Linda Gaby and Ralph Derr.
Also, siblings, Paul Derr and Stella Gaby and several grandchildren.
The arrangements were handled by the Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, in Austin, Texas.

MYRLE R. HORN
Services will be at the convenience of the family for Myrle R. (Reinert) Horn, 77, wife of Robert L. Horn, of West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. She died February 9 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
She was born in the Morysville, Colebrookdale Township and was a 1942 graduate of Boyertown Area High School.
Horn worked as a secretary for 26 years at Robert L. Horn Plumbing and Heating in Boyertown.
In the 1940s, Horn worked as a secretary for Spicer’s, now Dana Manufacturing.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boyertown.
In addition to her husband, Horn is survived by three sons, Michael J. Horn of New Ringgold, Schuylkill County, Robert D. Horn of Boyertown and David E. Horn of Catasauqua, Lehigh County.
There are also five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to the Berks County Humane Society, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Boyertown.
The arrangements were handled by the Morrell Funeral Home, Boyertown.
