Richard Theodore Springer
Richard Theodore Springer, 91, of Cookeville, Tenn., formerly of Quakertown died Mar. 3, 2003 in Masters Health Care Center.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Shive) Springer, they were married for 63 years.
Born in Woodbine, Tex. he was the son of the late Nicholas and Ida (Geyer) Springer.
Mr. Springer was the former owner of the Parkway Drive-In, Haycock Twp., Quakertown, Pa.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Dorothy A. Breiner of Pleasant Hill, Tenn; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters.
Services were private.

Russell L. Geiger
Russell L. Geiger, 76, of Quakertown died Mar. 7, 2003 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, Pa.
He was the husband of Anna (Bleam) Geiger.
Born in Trumbauersville, he was a son of the late Harry P. and Carrie (Yost) Geiger.
Prior to his retirement in 1992 he was a truck driver for Ray Heffentrager, Inc., Quakertown, for 18 years.
He was a member of St. John’s UCC, Richlandtown, a lifetime member of John Rivers VFW Post 11322, Quakertown, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of Nase-Kraft American Legion, Sellersville, Pa.
He served with the U.S. Army during WWII in Central Europe.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Russell of Brandon, Fla., David of Pennsburg, and Thomas of Quakertown; two daughters, Patricia Stump of Roaring Spring, Pa., and Joann Geiger of East Greenville; one brother, Floyd of Genesse,Pa.; three sisters, Jeanette Shelly of Quakertown, Emma Detweiler of Red Hill and Naomi Criblear of Boyertown; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son George and daughter Diane.
Funeral services were held Mar. 11. Interment was in East Swamp Mennonite Cemetery , Quakertown.

Margaret Lindmeier
Margaret Lindmeier, 79, of Quakertown, died Mar. 9, 2003 at LifeQuest Nursing Home, Quakertown, Pa.
She was the wife of Joseph R. Lindmeier. They were married for 61 years last December.
Born in Haycock, she was the daughter of the late Warren L. and Elsie M. (Bearn) High.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Richlandtown, Pa., and Haycock Senior Citizens.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Michael of Perkasie and Thomas of Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Sally Tatham of Fleetwood, Pa.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three foster sisters, Mae Musselman of Quakertown, Elsie Harner of Lansing, N.Y., and Stella Haehnle of Slidell, La.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thurs., Mar. 13 in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown, Pa. Calling hours for family and friends will be 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Thurs. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Kellers Church Cemetery , Quakertown.

Daniel Coll
Daniel Coll, 88, of Sellersville, died Mar. 9, 2003 in St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital, Quakertown, Pa.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Bernard and Sallie (Weikel) Coll.
During WWII he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was the recipient of 5 Bronze Stars during the New Guinea and Philippines campaigns.
He had been employed by the US Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville for 32 years in Production Management and Time Studies.
Mr. Coll was a life member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville.
He was a member of the Sellersville Fire Dept. for over 69 years, a member of Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 245, Sellersville and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #1539, Sellersville. Mr. Coll also served on the Advisory Board of the Pennridge Senior Center.
He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters; Flora Coll, Mary Slotter, Lucy Fellman and Margaret Viola Kasnel; and two brothers, John and Philip Coll; one niece Laura Fellman.
Funeral services will be held Thurs.Mar. 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 East Church St., Sellersville. Family and friends may call at the church on Thurs. morning form 9:30-10:45 a.m.. Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery .

Kathryn A. “Katie” Stauffer
Kathryn A. “Katie” Stauffer, daughter of Carl L. and Linda P. (Bartholomew) Stauffer, 19, of Haycock Township, died Mar. 8 in Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center, Brunswick, Ga. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a sophomore at Swathmore College, Swathmore, Pa majoring in Pre-Med and Psychology with the plans of becoming a Biogenticist.
Born in W. Rockhill Township, she grew up in the Quakertown area attending local schools and graduating as Valedictorian of the Quakertown High School Class of 2001. She was featured on WPVI-TV Channel 6 as a “Best of the Class of 2001” award winner. A member of the National Honor Society she received numerous awards which included the National Merit Scholar Commendation, Comcast Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship, American Chemical Society Certificate, Bausch & Lomb Science Medal, Dr. Belle Neiman-Mease Memorial Award, President’s Education Award, President’s Student Service Award, Quakertown P.A.G.E. Scholorship, Society of Women Engineers Certificate, PHEAA Certificate of Merit, Lehigh Valley Organ Donar Awareness Award. She earned placement on the distinguished Honor Roll 24 consecutive times, AP Scholar honors, the Quakertown High School Departmental Awards in English AP grade 12 and Pre-Calculus-Honors grade 11.
Katie was also an accomplished athlete. She began to swim at age six and swam for the Quakertown Dolphins and the Upper Bucks YMCA 1990-2001, Quakertown High School, and at Swathmore College. She taught swimming lessons at college and had just received the appointment as Head LifeGuard at Swathmore. She was MVP of the QHS swim team and received a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle 2001 District 1 Suburban League Championships earning her a placement as honorable mention to the District 1 Suburban League All School team. She holds the Upper Bucks YMCA League record for the 50m Free Penn Del Girls B-North (2001) and had received the Gold Medal Swathmore College 2002 and 2003. 200 Free Relay record Centennial Conf. Championships.
Her summertime and part-time work began at the former Fleck’s Bakery in Quakertown. Later she became a swim instructor and lifeguard at the Upper Bucks YMCA, a lifeguard at Quaker’s Green, and an assistant swim coach for the Quakertown Summer Swim Team.
In her spare time, Katie love to read and play piano.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Richlandtown, Pa.
Surviving with her parents is a sister Christine L. at home; a half-sister, Shelley Crouthamel of Souderton; and maternal grandparents Dolores Batholomew of Allentown and Patrick Crouthamel of Reno, Nev.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Sun. Mar. 16 in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler Street, Quakertown. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be Mon. in Morgenland Cemetery , Salisbury Township, Lehigh county, Pa.
The family would appreciate remembrance in the form of contributions to the Kathryn Stauffer Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First Savings of Perkasie, P.O.Box 610, Richlandtown, PA 18955

Virginia F. Heckman
Virginia F. Heckman, 86, of Myerstown formerly of Emmaus and Coopersburg died April 8, 2003 in E.C.C. Retirement Village, Myerstown.
She was the wife of the late Frank Heckman.
Born in Virginia Beach, Va. she was the daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Crossen) Emrich.
Mrs. Heckman retired from the former Shernay Printing, Coopersburg, in 1984.
She was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Congregational Church, Emmaus.
There were no immediate survivors.
Services were held April 14.

George Chobot
George Chobot, 75, of Quakertown died Apr. 7, 2003 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Quakertown.
He was the husband of Mary (Sinisko) Chobot. They were married 52 years last August.
Born in Milford Township, he was the son of the late Thomas and Annie (Horvath) Chobot.
He retired in 1995 as a sewing machine mechanic for the former Cross Country Clothing in Northampton for 13 years. Prior to that, he worked for the former Quakertown Clothing for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Church in Quakertown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, G. Frank of Quakertown; two daughters, Maryann Miller of Quakertown and Ruth Beans of Topton; four brothers, Joseph of Susquehanna, Michael of East Greenville, August of Allentown, and John of Quakertown; two sisters, Antonia Chobot of Quakertown and Stella Pocius of Pennsburg; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Andrew and a sister Anna.
Memorial services were held April 11.

Charles P. Hufnagle
Charles P. Hufnagle, 68, Sellersville, died April 9, 2003 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township.
He was the husband of Karen (West) Hufnagle of Iowa and former husband of the late Alice (Curley) Hufnagle.
Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Adelaide (Groves) Hufnagle.
He had been employed for many years as a Tool and Die Maker with the U.S. Gauge Division, Ametek Inc., Sellersville, before retiring in 1997.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where he had been a coach of CYO Basketball.
He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Great Swamp Fish and Game Club, both in Quakertown, and the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 245, Sellersville. He had also been a member of the Lansdale Catholic High School Fathers Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Charles E. of Harleysville; five daughters, Alicia M. Schlosser of Souderton, Ann M. Clemens of Stamford, Conn., Theresa M. Lex of Sellersville, Cynthia M. Byndas of Stewartstown, and Susan M. Benatti of Ambler; two sisters, Mary Mroz of Telford, and Lynne von Mechow of Sellersville; and 10 grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Adelaide Marie.
Services were held April 12. Interment was in the parish Cemetery .

Anna Scheetz
Anna Scheetz, 80, of Coopersburg, died April 11, 2003 in Genesis Eldercare, Quakertown.
She was the wife of the late Russell W. Scheetz.
Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late William and Leah (Neamand) Steeley.
She was employed in the bookkeeping department of the former Bucks County Bank & Trust Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1988. Previously, she worked as a bookkeeper for the former North Penn Store of Quakertown.
Mrs. Scheetz graduated second in her class in 1940 from Quakertown High School. She was an active member of the Passer Community Association and the Springfield Historical Society of Springfield Township for many years.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Richlandtown.
She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Fisher of Quakertown and Rosemary Miller of Manassas, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 16 at 2 p.m. in St. John’s United Church of Christ, Richlandtown. Interment will be in Quakertown Union Cemetery . Calling hours will be at the church Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Erna Zeps, 94, of Quakertown, died April 11, 2003 at Belle Haven Nursing Home where she was a resident.
She was the wife of the late Aleksanders Zeps.
Born in Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Roberts and Late Zaks.
She was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church, Quakertown.
She is survived by cousins.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown. Calling hours will be Wed. from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
