CATARINO ESQUIVEL
Burial was in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery , San Antonio for Catarino “Boogie” Esquivel, 71, formerly of Boyertown.
Esquivel died July 30 in the Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Providence.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by three sisters, Elvira Pender Harple of Boyertown, Mary Lee Jarman of Centerville, Va., and Gloria Puente of San Antonio.
He was predeceased by a brother.
The arrangements were handled by the Veterans Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.

SUSAN M. DRIES
Funeral services were held for Susan M. (McCormick) Dries, 47, of South Chestnut Street, Boyertown, who died August 1 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.
She was the wife of Ernest P. Dries.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Shirley (DeFiore) and Frank McCormick of Allentown.
She and her husband owned and operated Dries Auto Service, Boyertown, since 1983.
Dries attended William Allen High School, Allentown.
She was a member of the Keystone Fire Co., Boyertown, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Boyertown Orioles.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons, Brian K. Dries of Allentown and Kevin S. Dries of Boyertown.
Also four sisters and one granddaughter.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery , Boyertown.
The Catagnus Funeral Home, Boyertown, handled the arrangements.

ROSEMARY EGAN
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown for Rosemary (Sherlock) Egan, 83, of Mulbery Lane, Colebrookdale.
She died August 2 at the Sanatoga Center, where she had been a patient since June. She was the widow of Bernard Egan.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she was a homemaker.
Egan was a member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Boyertown.
She was also a member of the Boyertown Senior Center.
Surviving are two sons, James Egan of Bechtelsville and Jerry Egan of Royersford; and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery , Lower Pottsgrove.
The arrangements are being handled by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Boyertown.

EDNA EIDLE
Services were held for Edna M. (Moyer) Eidle, 74, of Greenhill Road, Barto, widow of Franklin S. Eidle, who died August 2 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Bechtelsville, she was a mender at the Great American Knitting Mill in Bally for many years, retiring in 1989.
Eidle was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ, Bechtelsville.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Levan and Deborah L. Beaver, both of Barto; seven sons, Franklin Eidle Jr., Terry A. Eidle, Larry Eidle, Randy L. Eidle and Bruce A. Eidle, all of Barto, Dennis L. Eidle of Coudersport and Glenn L. Eidle of New Berlinville.
Also two sisters, Mildred Reifsnyder of Boyertown and Betty Mackey of Bechtelsville; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ, 527 Hoffmansville Road, Bechtelsville, PA 19505.
Burial was in Hill Church Cemetery , Pike Township.
The arrangements were handled by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Boyertown.

JAMES D. REINHARD
Funeral services were held for James D. Reinhard, 64, of Bartlet Road, Ruscombmanor Township, who died August 2 in St. Joseph Medical Center.
He died as a result of injuries sustained from an auto accident on Hill Road, Maidencreek Township.
He was the husband of Sandra M. (Kurtz) Reinhard.
Born in Allentown, he had been employed 33 years as a truck driver, last working for Chemical Lehman Tank Lines, Evansville, before retiring in 1987.
He is also survived by a son, David J., West Lawn, and by four daughters: Melanie S. (Reinhard) Riegel, Hamburg; Susan M. Reinhard, Walnuttown; and Stacy M. Reinhard and Melissa S. Reinhard, both at home.
Also surviving are three sisters: Mary Lou (Reinhard) Keeling, Lyons; Patricia (Reinhard) Scalessi, a resident of Stabon Manor, Reading; and Loretta (Reinhard) Missimer, Walnutport, Northampton County; also five brothers: Thomas Jr. and Frederick, both of Kutztown; Charles, Fleetwood; Richard, Oley; and Raymond, Birdsboro.
There are also seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The Auman Funeral Homes, Reiffton, handled the arrangements.
Burial was in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.

ALMA HALE
Funeral services were held for Alma Mae (Landis) Hale, 90 of Willow Valley Manor, Lancaster, formerly of Baltimore and New Jersey, who died August 4 at Arbor View, Lancaster.
She was the widow of Donald K. Hale.
Born in Colebrookdale, she worked for the Equitable Trust Co. of Baltimore in the mortgage department for more than 20 years.
Hale was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Lancaster, where she assisted with the church’s food distribution.
While living in Baltimore, she taught Sunday school and was involved with the youth fellowship of her church. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a sister and one brother.
Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 10 W. Farnum St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
The arrangements were handled by the Houck Funeral Home of Pottstown.

CYNTHIA L. COPPERFIELD
Private burial was held for Cynthia L. (Hums) Copperfield, 50, of Douglass (Mont.), who died August 3 at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of Virginia M. (Moyer) Hums of Sanatoga and the late Paul F. Hums.
Copperfield graduated from Boyertown High School in 1970.
She worked as an aide in the baby room at the YMCA Growing Dreams in Boyertown, and also at Turkey Hill in Boyertown.
She was a foreign exchange coordinator for the Boyertown, Pottstown and Owen J. Roberts schools districts.
Copperfield was a member of the Boyertown YMCA.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. Walker of New Berlinville; one son, Steven R. Schrump of Boyertown.
Also three sisters, Sandra J. Hill of Narvon, Kathie M. Bulson of Riegelsville and Paula K. Hoffman of Boyertown; one brother, Bruce R. Hums of Sanford, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
The arrangements were handled by the Catagnus Funeral Home, Boyertown.

JOYCE ELAINE MINNINGER
A memorial service will be held Thursday for Joyce Elaine (Mentzer) Minninger, 72, wife of Robert W. Minninger of Maple Avenue, Boyertown, who died August 4 at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Downingtown, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Boyertown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Thomas L. Hatfield of Fredericksburg and Earl L. Hatfield of North Port, Fla.; one daughter, Tracy L. (Minninger) Moyer of Gilbertsville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Houck Funeral Home, Charlotte and Grace streets, Pottstown.
Friends may call from 10 to 10:30 a.. at the funeral home.

KERRY ARTHUR ORTLIP
A funeral will be held for Kerry Arthur Ortlip, 53, of Moore Drive, Gilbertsville, husband of Shirley (Fiore) Ortlip, who died August 4 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Pearl Elaine (Swanger) Ortlip of Phoenixville and the late Jay Ortlip Sr.
He worked as a correction officer at the Graterford State Correctional Institution.
Ortlip was a member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Boyertown.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Millsboro, Del.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Joseph J. and Timothy E. Ortlip, both of Gilbertsville,
There are also two brothers.
Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Devlin-Rosmos-Kepp Funeral Home, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Essig officiating.
Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.

LEON F. STEHMAN
Private services with burial were held for Leon F. Stehman, 88, of Lenore Place, Whitfield, who died August 3 in Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Aletha J. (Sweigart) Stehman.
Born in Oley, he was employed for more than 50 years as an optician, working 29 years with Dr. James Van Dyke Quereau in Reading.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Stehman had served as president of the Hammond Organ Society.
He is also survived by a sister, Ruth (Stehman) Shappell, Oley.
Burial was in the Oley Cemetery .
The Christ & Catagnus Funeral Home Inc., Oley, was in charge of the arrangements.
