Services and burial for Kathleen Romano, 92, of 1471 Kuhn Drive, Boiling Springs, will be held at the convenience of the family.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 in Manor Care Health Services, South Middleton Township.
Born July 14, 1905 in New York, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Owen and Mary Smith McCabe and the widow of Paul Romano.
Surviving are her son, Paul of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Annette Fell of Long Island, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Romano.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, is handling arrangements.

Graveside services for Charlotte C. Sheafer, 97, formerly of 65 E. Willow St., Carlisle, will be held at the convenience of her friends in the Old Graveyard in Carlisle.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 in Cumberland Crossings Nursing Home, South Middleton Township.
Born Sept. 9, 1900 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Nebinger and Emma Roberts Drawbaugh Sheafer.
She was a 1918 graduate of Carlisle High School and a 1922 graduate of Dickinson College. She received a master's degree from Columbia University in 1930.
Miss Sheafer was a retired teacher and librarian in Lansdowne.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Carlisle and life member of Carlisle Garden Club. She was a National Federation Garden Club master judge.
Surviving are several close friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Sheafer Boate and Catharine E. Sheafer.
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is handling arrangements.

Services for John N. "Big John" Kalathas, 68, of 938 Brandon Drive, Chambersburg, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 S. Second St., Chambersburg.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 28, 1929 in Neohorion, Greece, he was a son of the late Nicholas M. and Maria Panagos Kalathas.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Camp Hill, and served in the Greek Army.
Mr. Kalathas was the former owner of the Texas and Famous Lunches in Chambersburg; retiring 20 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Panagos Kalathas; a son, Nicholas J. of Shippensburg; three sisters, Evangelia Manikas of Chambersburg, Athanasia Ntzanis and Constantina Merikas, both of Greece; two grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The Rev. George Daskalakis will officiate at Monday's service. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Drive, Camp Hill 17011 or to Chambersburg Hospital Dialysis Unit, 112 N. Seventh St., Chambersburg 17201.

Services for Elmer F. "Buddy" Currens, 73, of 2073 Granite Station Road, Gettysburg, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Feiser Funeral Home, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford.
He died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997 in his home.
Born March 15, 1924 in Adams County, he was a son of the late William and Anna Ford Currens.
Mr. Currens was retired from Jiffy Seal, Hanover. He was an avid musician and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his sister, Edna M. Garman of Hanover, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George C. Kearns and Harry R. Currens.
The Rev. Douglas Johnson, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover, will officiate at Saturday's service. Burial will be in Great Conewago Presbyterian Cemetery, Hunterstown.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 York St., Hanover 17331.

Mary E. Diffenderfer Cook, formerly of Camp Hill and New Cumberland, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997 in Fairview Retirement Center, Fairview Township, York County.
Born in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Mary E. Masoner Diffenderfer. She was the widow of Edward H. Cook.
Mrs. Cook was a retired secretary for the trust department of the former Commonwealth National Bank, Harrisburg.
She was a member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg and its Fidelity Bible Class. She also was a member of Steadfast Chapter 479 Order of Eastern Star; Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Esaid Court 29; Daughters of the Nile, Ozemb Temple 52; White Shrine of Jerusalem, Bethany Shrive 7; and a past royal matron, Order of Amaranth, Williard Court 54.
Surviving are two sons, Edward H. Jr. of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and John C. of York Haven; one brother, John H. Diffenderfer of New Cumberland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland, with the Rev. Richard D. Adams officiating.
Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Tressie M. Otto, 80, formerly of 5 Valley St., Carlisle, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 at ManorCare Nursing Home, South Middleton Township.
Born Jan. 3, 1917 in Loysville, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Laura E. Barrick Dillman. She was the widow of Lester L. Otto, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Otto was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle, and its Sunday school class.
Surviving are one daughter, Judy K. Witherow of Carlisle; one brother, Marlin Dillman of Blain; three sisters, Dorothy Jeffries of Blain, Freda Dillman of Carlisle and Mary Jane Leidig of St. Thomas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one stepgreat -grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie M. Shank, who died in 1993; two brothers, James and Harold Dillman; and two sisters, Louise Johnson and Janet Matthews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Michael V. Minnix officiating.
Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 64 E. North St., Carlisle, Pa. 17013.

Services for Vaughn P. "Bill" Arbegast, 92, of the Church of God Home, Carlisle, will be held at 1 p.m. today in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle.
He died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997 at the home.
Born June 15, 1905 in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Norman I. and Florence Kramer Arbegast.
He was self-employed in the Carlisle area for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carlisle and the president of its men's Bible class for many years.
He was a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299 and the White Circle Club, both of Carlisle, and was a charter member of the Cumberland Valley Umpire Association.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Elva E. Quigley Arbegast; a daughter, Patricia A. Rittenhouse of York; a son, Terry L. Arbegast of Carlisle; two sisters, Edith Lightner and Thelma Wilson, both of Carlisle; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, William P., Wayne A. and Jack E.
The Rev. Michael V. Minnix will officiate at today's services. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, North Middleton Township.

Services for Alonzo Bedford McKillip, 94, formerly of Carlisle and Mt. Holly Springs, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle.
He died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 in ManorCare Health Services, Carlisle.
Born Jan. 3, 1903 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Clinton and Anna Horn McKillip. He was the widower of Margaret A. Swails McKillip.
Mr. McKillip was a retired employee of Carlisle Shoe Co. with 43 years of service.
He also had been employed by Bedford Shoe Co., Carlisle Veterinarian Clinic and National Guard Armory, Carlisle.
Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn Dickson of Carlisle; one son, Preston C. McKillip of San Angelo, Texas; one brother, William McKillip of Carlisle; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Alonzo L. McKillip.
The Rev. Andrew T. Bradley Sr. will officiate at services Monday. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 20 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, Pa. 17013.
