William E. Pearson Sr.
William E. Pearson Sr., 78,of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., died Friday, October 6, 2000, in his home.
Born March 24, 1922, in Clarksville, Pa., he was the only son of Carroll Pearson and Freda Carter Pearson.
A 1941 graduate of Brownsville High School, Mr. Pearson served with the United States Army during World War II. He retired in 1962 from the United States Air Force where he earned the rank of 1st Sergeant, and then worked in the Civil Service until his second retirement in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Anthony Fortuna, by his sister, Norma J. Fortuna in 1998, by his wife, Frances Famularo Pearson, with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage prior to her death in 1990, and by his parents.
Surviving are his children: William E. Pearson Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Saundra Miller of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Susan Pearson of Roanoke Rapids; grandsons: Garrick Newsome of Charlotte, North Carolina, David Pearson and Christopher Pearson both of Roanoke Rapids; a great-granddaughter, Emily Newsome; a sister, Muriel P. Elias of Brownsville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the CONFER FUNERAL HOME, 515 FRONT STREET, BROWNSVILLE, Pa., tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday, October 9, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Funeral Services will then be conducted by Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr., Pastor of Brownsville United Methodist Charge.
Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by Gen. George C. Marshall Post 103 American Veterans, Hopwood, Pa.

Lucy Lee Rose
Lucy Lee Rose, 91, of West Newton, Pa., died Wednesday evening, October 4, 2000, in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa.
She was born October 1, 1909, in Ivor, Virginia, daughter of Robert Lee and Annie Drew Lee.
Her husband, John Rose, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Ethel Dallas of West Newton, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Joyce Ann Dallas, Lucy Ramso, Florence Scott, George W. Dallas, John Lee Dallas, Janice Perry, Laura Dallas, Lorrie Miller and Nicole Truesdale; a sister, Isabelle Peder, and a brother, Wilbert Davis, both of Ivor, Virginia; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 4 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Monday, October 9, at 11 a.m. with Mr. Jack Bauer of Jehovah’s Witness officiating.
Interment follows in Olive Branch Cemetery, Smithton, Pa.

Margaret "Peg" Lehman Mitts Johnson Stewart
Margaret "Peg" I. Lehman Stewart, 93, of Willard, Ohio, and formerly of Hibbs, Pa., died Wednesday, October 4, 2000, in Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard, Ohio.
She was born September 4, 1907, in Dunbar, Pa., a daughter of John A. Lehman and Daisy Martin Lehman.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Uniontown and was employed with Uniontown Hospital as a Nurses Aide for over 12 years.
Her first husband, Hiram S. Mitts, her second husband, James "Jack" W. Johnson, her last husband, Donald W. Stewart, a son, Harry Donald Mitts, stepsons, Robert Eugene Johnson and Howard R. Johnson, one grandson, sisters and brothers, Nell McClintock, Eva Hostetler, Frances Hennen, Milton Warne Lehman, Gwendolyn Harding, James Lehman, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by eight children: Mrs. Richard (Margaret Elaine) Sheraw of Dunbar, Pa., Mrs. Harry (Shirley) Ainsley of Dunbar, Pa., Mrs. Lee (Lois Jean) Jester of Willard, Ohio, Donald E. Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Connie L. Johnson of Brookpark, Ohio, Russell E. Johnson of Cape Coral, Florida, Mrs. Thomas (Charleen R.) Gluch of Uniontown, Pa., and Mrs. Gary (Charlotte) Myers of Hibbs, Pa.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Esther Cooper of Dunbar, Pa., and Mrs. Carrie Snyder of Uniontown, Pa.; many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues in Bible Baptist Church, One Evergreen Terrace, Uniontown, on Monday, October 9, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Herring officiating.
Interment will follow in Acklin Cemetery.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Etta Pauline Sapp Stull
Etta Pauline Sapp Stull, 85, of Smithfield, Pa., died Thursday, October 5, 2000, in Smithfield.
She was born November 25, 1914, in Kingwood, West Virginia, daughter of William Sapp and Ellen Josephine Richards Sapp.
Her husband, George Howard Stull Sr., and her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children: Madelyn Loretta Keenan, Uniontown, Pa., Maxine Louise Maynard, Newark, Ohio, Mary Ellen and her husband Louis Weeder, Blosser Hill, Point Marion, Pa., Shirley Ann Barone, Smithfield, George Howard Stull Jr. and his wife Gail, Cabbage Flats, Greensboro R.D., Pa., Ronald Blaine Stull and his wife Susan, Morgantown, West Virginia, and Carol LaVonne Lawson and her husband, Al Lawson, Smithfield; grandson, Stanley Alfred Keenan and wife Marcie, Lake Lynn, Pa., and 23 other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sisters: Louise Carr, Lake Lynn, Pa., and Mary Mayle, Rochester, New York.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 WEST CHURCH STREET, FAIRCHANCE, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, October 9, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Sherman Riggleman officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Saul D. Stutch
Saul D. Stutch, 77, of Markleysburg, Pa., died Saturday, October 7, 2000, in Henry Clay Villa, Markleysburg.
He is survived by two brothers: Dr. Reuben Stutch of San Mateo, Calif., and Nathan Stutch of New York City, N.Y. There will be no public visitation. Services and interment will be private.
Arrangements are under direction of the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Pa.

Bruce R. Ulery
Bruce R. Ulery, 62, a life resident of Hiller, Pa., died Saturday, October 7, 2000.
Born May 3, 1938, in Hiller, Pa., he was a son of Peter C. Ulery of Hiller and the late Emma Lenore Remington Ulery.
Mr. Ulery was a 1956 graduate of Brownsville High School.
A Laborer in commercial construction, he was a member of Laborers International Union of North America Local 373.
He was a member of Bridgeport Young Mens Club and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 1344 for 34 years.
An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Besides his father he is survived by a sister, Carole Rinehart of Newton Falls, Ohio; brothers: Ronald Ulery and his wife, Carol, of Niles, Ohio, Fred Ulery and his wife, Karen, of Warren, Ohio, and Rick Ulery of Newton Falls, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends in the CONFER FUNERAL HOME, 515 FRONT STREET, BROWNSVILLE, Pa., tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday, October 9, from 11 a.m. until Noon. Funeral Services will then be conducted by Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr., Pastor of Brownsville United Methodist Charge.
Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

Wilbert C. Wills
Wilbert C. "Buddy" Wills, 77, of Dunbar, Pa., died Friday, October 6, 2000, in Lint Personal Care Home, Connellsville.
He was born June 2, 1923, in Dunbar, Pa., son of Rofail Wills and Catherine Anna Maust Wills.
He was a retired Coal Miner from Frick Coal Company and also retired from the B&O Railroad.
He was a Veteran of World War II who served wit h the United States Army and the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Four brothers, William C. Kennedy, Ross A. Kennedy Jr., and two young brothers, a young sister, a grandson, Ronald "Cory" Martin, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by five children: Richard Wills, Dawson, Pa., Wilbert Wills Jr., Connellsville, Pa., and Larry Joe Wills, Ford City, Pa., Barbara Steindl, Connellsville, and Patty Martin of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters: Mary "Hon" Cook, Dunbar, Rosella Barnett, Amarillo, Texas, and Celia White, Pasadena, Texas.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, October 10, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Jeffrey Popson officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by Connellsville American Legion Post 301, Trotter American Legion Post 762, and Connellsville V.F.W. Post 21.

Russell R. Wilson Sr.
Russell R. Wilson Sr., 83, of Roscoe, Pa., died Thursday, October 5, 2000, in Brownsville General Hospital.
He was born January 25, 1917, in Brownsville, Pa., son of John Wilson and Blanche Roberts Wilson.
He was a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church and Brownsville American Legion. He served with the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations.
Three brothers, Jack, Ted, and Bart Wilson, four sisters, Mildred Citro, Iris Glows, Betty Zahand, Dolly Wilson, and his parents are deceased.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Alice Wilson; children: Bob Wilson and wife Laurie, Bowie, Maryland, Bill Wilson and wife Jacqui, Smyrna, Delaware, and Debbie and husband, Kevin Dunker, West Brownsville, Pa.; grandchildren: Sharon and husband, Jaime Wilkerson, Christopher Wilson, Nicole Wilson, Hilary Dunker, B. J. Wilson, and Brian Dunker; great-grandchildren: Jeremy Wilson and Emily Wilkerson; and sisters: Marion Leonti of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and JoAnne Freas of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Friends will be received in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., Roscoe, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where doors will be open at 12 Noon.
Viewing continues Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Roscoe United Methodist Church where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joan Rousseaux officiating.
Interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
