Betty J. Murphy
BURNHAM - Betty J. Murphy, 59, of Lot A-14, McCardle Trailer Court, Burnham, died at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her residence. Born Oct. 24, 1941, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie Masaros. She is survived by a son, Michael J. Murphy, Burnham; sisters, Davida Ward, Highpoint, NC and Roberta Potts, Lancaster; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. She was a production employee at Trinity Plastics, Lewistown. She was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church, the ladies auxiliary of the Lewistown Moose Lodge, and the auxiliary of the Brooklyn Hose Company, Lewistown. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

Hazel J. Murray
LEWISTOWN - Hazel J. Murray, 93, of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, 276 Green Ave., Lewistown, and formerly of 502 Yale St., Lewistown, died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at the nursing home. Born Sept. 25, 1907, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Maude (Price) Notestine. Her husband, Ivan Murray, preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1981. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was the last of her immediate family. She was employed as a clerk at the American Viscose Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 1968. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery with Karen McCachren officiating. There is no viewing. The Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, 276 Green Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Audrey J. Musser
MCALISTERVILLE - Audrey J. Musser, 68, of McAlisterville, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2001, at her home. Born Feb. 12, 1933, in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Wayland H. and Anna M. (Brown) Walmsley. Her husband, John E. Musser, whom she married on June 18,1950, survives. Also surviving are: children, John Steven Musser, McAlisterville, Jeffery W. Musser, Hubbard, Ohio, Deborah J. Pacana, Philadelphia and Cathy M. Freed, Waldorf, Md.; a brother, Wayland E. Walmsley, Freeburg; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She attended Freeburg High School. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville, where she was an active member of the Presbyterian Women and sang in the choir. She was also a Republican Party Committee Chairperson, a Fayette Township Assessor, and helped coordinate meals for "Meals on Wheels". She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing the piano, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville. Friends may call 4-9 p.m.Tuesday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church Restoration Fund, PO Box 91, McAlisterville, PA 17049, or to the American Cancer Society, Mifflin-Juniata Unit, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Margaret C. Musser
ALTOONA - Margaret C. Musser, 101, of Altoona RR7, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Tyrone Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1900, in Trough Creek, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Currence (Baumgardner) Smith. Her husband, Laurie Aaron Musser, whom she married June 2, 1932, died Dec. 6, 1973. She is survived by three sisters, Edith Wonder, Daytona Beach, Fla., Anna Brown, Indiana, and Alma Taylor, McVeytown; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David L. Musser on Jan. 27, 1996; four brothers, Harold Sam, Clair, and Lloyd Smith; and two sisters, Edna Burnside and Beryl Smith. She was a former member of the Bellwood Band Parents and The Homemakers Club, Bellwood. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and making candy. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with Pastor Myron Weiand officiating. Interment will be in the Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery, Allensville. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Thursday at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, 618 Marin St., Bellwood and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville.

Teresa Grace Musser
LEWISTOWN - Teresa Grace Musser, infant daughter of Richard F. and Georgia (Will) Musser of 21 Spanogle Ave., Lewistown, was stillborn at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. She is survived by paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Musser of Lewistown; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Corbin of Lewistown; maternal step-great-grandmother, Irene Goss of Lewistown; brother and sister, Anthony R. Musser and Anna Margaret Musser, both at home. She was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Teresa and Frank Zannino and Mabel and Luther Musser; and maternal great-grandparents, George and Anna Margaret Goss and Clair and Hazel Grace Corbin. Graveside services were held Friday at Juniata Memorial Park, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, was in charge of arrangements.

Frances H. Mutch
GLEN ROCK - Frances H. Mutch, 97, of Glen Rock, formerly of Vero Beach, Fla. and Haddonfield, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at the Lutheran Home of Moorestown. Born May 9, 1903, in McAlisterville, she was the daughter of the late Amaziah and Margaret (Herr) Shellenberger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heber R. Mutch. She is survived by children, Richard J. Mutch and Mrs. Arnold (Margaret M. "Peg") Olt, both of Haddonfield, NJ; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Mutch. She was a school teacher. She was active in the Women's Club, Garden Club, Bon Aire Country Club and Girl Scouts in Glen Rock. In Vero Beach, Fla., she was active with Lutheran Church Women, Historical Society, Nobelles, the Alliance for the Arts and the Art Club. She was known for her seascapes oil paintings. Services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hinski-Tomlinson Funeral Home, 81 Haddon Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown, McAlisterville. Friends may call 7 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Wood Lane and Wayne Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.

I. Willard Myer
LITITZ - I. Willard Myer, 88, of Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, formerly of Leola, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Landis Homes. Born June 9, 1912 , in East Lampeter Township he was the son of the late Ira W. and Nettie (Landis) Myer. His wife of 67 years, Ruth M. (Esbenshade) Myer, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Mahlon (Almeda) Shenk of Lancaster, Wilmer Myer of Mifflintown, Donald Myer of Leola, and Dale Myer of Russell, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Landis Myer of Lancaster, Floyd Myer of Leola, Mrs. Melvin (Ethel) Sauder and Martha Myer, both of Lititz, Mrs. Daniel (Reba) Nauman, Ulysses, and Mrs. Abe (Ruth) Lefever, Jonestown; 17 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Miriam Hoover, Elma Kreider, Caleb Myer, and Glenn Myer. He was a farmer, retiring in 1961. He was also superintendent of Welsh Mountain Home from 1968-1978 and worked at Show-Ease Stall Company as a laborer for 16 years until he retired in 1994. He was a member of Stumptown Mennonite Church, Leola, where he was a past choir member, Sunday school teacher, and superintendent. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stumptown Mennonite Church, 2813 Stumptown Road, Bird-in-Hand. Interment will be in the adjoining Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Landis Homes, East Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Landis Homes Caring Fund, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. The Furman Home for Funerals, Leola, is in charge of arrangements.

David Lloyd Nafziger
PARADISE - David Lloyd Nafziger, 65, of 3397 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster. Born Feb. 28, 1936, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Emanuel B. and Fronie (Peachey) Nafziger. Surviving are: daughters, Mrs. John "Jack" (Dawn) Wilson and Mrs. Scott (Annette) Walters, both of Stevens, and Mrs. Brett (Janet) Wenger of Brownstown; a son, Arthur Nafziger of New Holland; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Kreider. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for D.M. Stoltzfus and Son Inc. in Leola and was also a taxi driver for the Amish. He attended the Bart Mennonite Church, Christiana. He enjoyed hunting. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Millwood Mennonite Church, Amish Road, Gap, with the Rev. Marlin Nafziger officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining Cemetery. Friends may call 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
