Beryl L. Naylor
MCALISTERVILLE - Beryl L. Naylor, 69, of McAlisterville RR1, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at the Meda Nipple Convalescent Home, Thompsontown RR1, where she had been a resident since January 1998. Born Oct. 11, 1931, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Newton C . and Helen B. (Sankey) Frymoyer. Her husband, Robert B. Naylor, whom she married Nov. 22, 1952, died Aug. 21, 1979. Surviving are two sons, Stephen A. Naylor and Randal E. Naylor, both of McAlisterville RR1; a brother, Wayne Frymoyer of HCR 63, Cocolamus; three sisters, Fern Hart, Mifflintown RR2, Charlotte Longacre, Middleburg and Jean Neitz, Freeburg; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Naylor and Larry Naylor; and a brother, Earl Frymoyer. She attended Red Bank School. She farmed the family farm for 40 years. She was a member of Brown's United Methodist Church, McAlisterville RR2, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. She enjoyed cross-stitching. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Brown's United Methodist Church, McAlisterville RR2, with the Rev. C. Richard Beach officiating. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery, Thompsontown RR1. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, where the family will be present to receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Brown's United Methodist Church Building Fund, RR2, Box 2395, McAlisterville, PA 17049.

Pauline F. Naylor
MILTON - Pauline F. Naylor, 83, of 32 S. Turbot Ave., Milton, formerly of Middle Creek and Northumberland, died Monday evening March 12, 2001, at Rockwell Center for Assisted Living, Milton. Born May 21, 1917, in Northumberland, she was a daughter of the late George F. and Bertha (Fultz) McGinness. Her husband, J. Fred Naylor, died in 1986. Surviving are children, Walter E. Neidig Jr., Dover, Del., and Peggy A. Ellison, Camp Hill; sister and brother, Fay Harpster, Burnham and James McGinness, Loudon, Tenn.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earlston Chester McGinness. She attended schools in Northumberland. She was a homemaker and had been employed at Davidson Coat Factory in Beaver Springs, and was a teachers aide in Beaver Springs Elementary School. She liked crafts and was a collector of antiques, enjoyed cooking, and raised game birds for the State of Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Beaver Springs. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of family in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. Memorial contributions may be made to: VNA Health Service and Hospice, 21 W. Independent St., Shamokin, PA l7872. The Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland, is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas O. Neidig Jr.
PORT ROYAL - Thomas O. Neidig Jr., 44, of Tuscarora Acres, Port Royal, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at his home. Born Aug. 27, 1956, in Altoona, he was a son of the late Thomas O. and Margaret (Stewart) Neidig. Surviving are: a brother, John M. Neidig Sr., Mifflintown RR4; a sister, Darlene K. Swartz, Pennsylvania; two half-brothers, Claude Miles Jr., Florida and Robert Miles, Olean, NY; and one foster brother, Michael J. Leahy, Mifflin. At one time, he had been a truck driver for Annlick Farm Supply, Port Royal. He attended Port Royal Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing the drums and building model cars. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 South Third Street, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Marton Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Thomas O. Neidig Memorial Fund, c/o Barbara Partner, 20 South Third Street, Mifflintown, PA 17059.

George Alfred Neitz
RICHFIELD - George Alfred Neitz, 92, of Richfield, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2001, at The Zendt Home, Richfield, where he had resided for five years. Born April 1, 1909, in Meiserville, he was the son of the late Adam and Emma (Dressler) Neitz. His wife of 66 years, Cora (Frantz) Neitz, survives. He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Kreitzer and Mary Newman. He was educated at the Happy Hollow grammar school in Meiserville. He had worked various jobs in his lifetime, including assisting at local cemeteries. He was Protestant by faith. He was a former member of the Richfield Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home Inc., Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Raymond D. Neitz officiating. Interment will be in Neimonds Cemetery, Richfield RR1. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

Morris L. Nemser
LEWISTOWN - Morris L. Nemser, 82, of 67 Logan St., Lewistown, died at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born June 23, 1918, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Marianhoff) Nemser. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Frank (Elissa) Maguire, Casselberry, Fla., Mrs. Craig (Maryl) Weady, Tracy, Calif., Neil C. Nemser, Abingdon, Md., Paula Tetirick, Liberty, Ken., Marc A. Nemser, Evans, Ga., Mrs. Ionel (Jo) Bajescu, Rochester, NY., Mrs. Jeffery (Rebecca) Nadel, San Luis Obispo, Calif., Michael J. Nemser, Martinsburg, W. Va., and Daniel Radha Krishna, Richmond, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. David (Myra) Seigel, Chatsworth, Calif. and Mrs. Saul (Phyllis) Katz, Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and received a Masters of Social Work. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre. He was chief social worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Harrisburg for 27 years, retiring in 1980. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Social Work, Room 530, Craig Hall, Pittsburgh, PA 15260. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie R. Nickel
BURNHAM - Marjorie R. Nickel, 69, of 316 Fifth Ave., Burnham, died at 10:26 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2001, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born July 31, 1931, in Reedsville, she was the daughter of the late Robert James Earl and Mary Catherine (Marks) Taylor. Her husband, Karl H. Nickel, whom she married Nov. 7, 1953, survives. Also surviving are: children, Charmayne L. Wagner and Fredrick D. Nickel, both of Burnham and Deneise M. Fultz, Middleburg; brother and sisters, Mary Ellen Goss, Leola, Henry J. Taylor, Quincy, Evelyn LeMay, Yeagertown and Patsy L. Miller, Reedsville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. She was a 1949 graduate of Reedsville High School. She was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. She retired from the Mifflin County School District cafeteria. She was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Reedsville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville. Douglas A. Niemond
CHAMBERSBURG - Douglas A. Niemond, 71, of 623 Highland Ave., Chambersburg, died at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Chambersburg Hospital Chambersburg. Born Nov. 22, 1929, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Percy and Wanda (Webster) Niemond. His first wife, Mary Jane (Esh) Niemond, died June 24, 1988. His second wife, Betty (Hartle) Niemond, whom he married May 12, 1990, survives. Also surviving are: children, Douglas A. Niemond, Mt. Olive, NC and Mrs. Chris (Cindy) Cote, Atlanta, GA; stepdaughters, Karen Morrison and Mrs. Patrick (Cheryl) Young, both of Chambersburg; brother, Larry Niemond, Lewistown; and seven grandchildren. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the 18th Field Artillery Unit. He was a graduate of Lewistown High School and received a bachelor of science degree from West Chester University and a Master of Education Degree from Penn State University, State College. He was administrator of Parks and Recreation for the Borough of Chambersburg and the Chambersburg Area School District, retiring on Feb. 1, 1991, with over 34 years of service. He also served as Franklin County Commissioner from January of 1992 to December of 1995. He was a member St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg and a former member St. Paul U.M. Church, where he had served on the administrative board, was a past trustee, church school superintendent, teacher, and youth fellowship counselor. Other memberships and offices held were: former director of the Middle Atlantic Regional Council of the National Recreation and Park Association; past secretary of the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society; past member National Advisory Committee on Recreation Programs and Activities with the National Recreation and Park Association; past membership chairman - American Institute of Park Executives; past chairman of various Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society Committees; former deputy, Amateur Softball Association; former District Commissioner as well as Franklin County Amateur Softball Association Commissioner; member and past president of the Chambersburg Lions Club, Chambersburg, the Inter Service Club Council, Chambersburg, the Chambersburg Country Club, and the Penn National Golf Association, Fayetteville; former interpreter and director of the Amateur Softball Association Umpires Association; past scoutmaster, Boy Scouts of America Troop 131, Chambersburg; past member District Boy Scouts Executive Council; former PIAA Basketball Official; member Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, Chambersburg, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg, BPO Elks Lodge 600, Chambersburg, Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club, Penn State Alumni Association, 2001 Partnership, Chambersburg, Chambersburg Planning Commission; and the Ben Franklin Society, Chambersburg. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. John's United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 225 East King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201. The Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home Inc., Chambersburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne P. Nipple
MIFFLIN - Jeanne P. Nipple, 76, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, formerly of Mifflintown RR5, died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Locust Grove. Born July 18, 1925, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Katherine Mae (Woomer) Nein. Her husband, Lester H. Nipple, preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1997. Also preceding her in death were: a son, Michael L. Nipple, and a brother, Rev. George E. Nein Jr. She was a registered nurse, retiring from Locust Grove, and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown. Her service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
