Ida M. Coleman
BEAVER SPRINGS - Ida M. Coleman, 95, of Penn Lutheran Village, formerly of Beaver Springs RR1, died at 11 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at Penn Lutheran Village. Born March 28, 1905, in Selinsgrove, she was a daughter of the late A. Ira and Clara Etta (Kreisher) Gemberling. Her husband, Clair C. Coleman, whom she married in 1929, preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1977. Surviving are: sons, Donald E. Coleman, Lewisburg, Kenneth R. Coleman, Los Angeles, Calif. and Richard E. Coleman, Harrisburg, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura, Mildred and Naomi Gemberling, and two brothers, Edgar and Sepharis Gemberling. She farmed with her husband, and also worked as a cook at the former Snook's Restaurant, and as a seamstress at the former Standard Shirt Factory. She was a member of Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, McClure, where she attended the Pollyanna Class. She was also a member of Lafayette Chapter No. 222 Order of the Eastern Star, Selinsgrove. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking and cooking. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral homes, Inc., North Brown Street, McClure with the Rev. Donald Wise officiating. Interment will be in Cedar hill Cemetery, Beavertown. Friends may 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present 7-9 p.m. and an Eastern Star service at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, McClure, PA 17841.

Timothy Lloyd Colyer
EULESS, Texas - Timothy Lloyd Colyer, 47, of Euless, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, in Euless, Texas. Born Nov. 17, 1952, in Lewistown, he was a son of Lloyd Colyer of Port Royal and Donna Henninger of Blairsville, Ga. Surviving are: stepmother, Verta Colyer, Port Royal; stepfather, Gene Henninger, Blairsville, Ga.; sister, Mrs. Bob (Diane) Talbot, Grapevine, Texas; brothers, Larry Colyer, Bruceville, Texas and Robert Henninger, Charlotte, NC; grandmother, Verdie Hostetler, Lewistown; half-brother, Greg Colyer; half-sister, Angela Colyer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. He was a customer service associate at ASA-Delta. Private services were held in Texas. The Martin Thompson Funeral Home, 224 E. College St., Grapevine, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy G. 'Dode' DeArment Condol
LEWISTOWN - Dorothy G. "Dode" DeArment Condol, 81, of 100 N. Grand St., Lewistown, died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2000, at her residence. Born Aug. 24, 1918, in Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Shields) DeArment. Surviving are: a son and a daughter, Thomas DeArment, Lewistown and Darlene Shoenfelt, Magnolia, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Alverta Woodling, Belleville, Shirley Swartz, Burnham and Fern DeArment, Robert DeArment and Betty Boring, all of Lewistown; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. She was a housewife. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. today at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Raymond Hill officiating. Interment will be in Germany Valley Cemetery, Shirleysburg.

Mary F. Conn
MIFFLIN - Mary F. Conn, 90, a resident of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, formerly of Mifflintown RR4, died at 7:40 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at the village. Born Feb. 12, 1904, in Landisburg, Perry County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Maude S. (Morrison) Swartz. Her husband, George C. Conn, died Jan. 26, 1979. Surviving are: children, William G. Conn, Mifflintown HC 63 and Anna M. Spletzer, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; three grandsons and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. She was a homemaker and worked as a salesperson at the Famous Dress Shop, Lewistown and as a cook at Beasom's Restaurant, Mifflintown. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, the Mifflintown American Legion Auxiliary, and the Mifflintown VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Douglas Compton officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown. There will be no public viewing, but family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 109 North St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

R. Marie Corkins
REEDSVILLE - R. Marie Corkins, 81, of 4660 US Highway 322 West, Reedsville, died of cancer at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at her home. Born Oct. 13, 1919, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Malachi O'Dwyer and Edna G. (Shilling) Burkholder. Surviving are: children, Cartis Ettman, Orlando, Fla., Harry Glenn Corkins Jr., Ellisville, Mo., Paula Guyett, Altamonte Springs, Fla., William Corkins, Auburndale, Fla., and Kitty Gingerich, Timonium, Md.; a sister, Mrs. George (Mary Lou) Burdick, 7 S. Locke Ave., Yeagertown; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. She was a graduate of Burnham High School. She worked as a secretary for Dr. Luther Rhodes, Dr. William Goss, and Dr. John Bauman, all in Lewistown and for Kelly Services in Lakeland, Fla. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milroy. Early in life, she was an active bowler and won the 1956 Pennsylvania State Championship. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Rosalie Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Josephine H. Cossack
LEWISTOWN - Josephine H. Cossack, 82, of 212 Cornfield Circle, Lewistown, died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown. Born May 20, 1918, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Anna Mae (Emory) Hackenberry. Her husband, John Cossack of 212 Cornfield Circle, Lewistown, whom she married July 12, 1986, survives. Her first husband, Richard M. Shannon, died in September of 1980. She is survived by brothers and sisters, Ilah Tomlinson, Mansfield, Claire Vaughn and Cora Ritter, both of Kish Apartments, Lewistown, Anna Harpster, McVeytown, and Betty McCardle, Westminster, Md. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. She was assistant manager for G.C. Murphy Company in Lewistown for 44 years, retiring in 1980. She also worked for Wilson's Jewelry for 3 years. She was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Burnham. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Larry K. Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D., Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601 or Walnut Street United Methodist Church, 203 N. Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009.

Jeanne A. Cowden
HERSHEY - Jeanne A. Cowden, 85, of 363 Hockersville Road, Hershey, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at the Hershey Medical Center. Born May 22, 1915, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Edna (Snook) Aurand. Her husband, John "Jack" W. Cowden, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Robert K. Clare, Greencastle; a sister, Helen Wetzler, Lewistown; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a 1933 graduate of Lewistown High School and was a retired secretary from the former Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown. She was a member of the Hummelstown United Church of Christ, where she volunteered as a greeter and baby-sitter in the nursery and helped with the Belfry Echoes monthly church newsletter. She was a member of the National Associated of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed writing postcards and letters and solving word jumble puzzles. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hoover Funeral Home and Crematory, 1225 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey, with the Rev. Mark J. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Derry Township Senior Citizens Mohler Center, 660 Cherry Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.

John W. Cox
DUNCANNON - John W. Cox, 76, of 33 Mountain St., Duncannon, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2000, at HCR Manor Care East, Harrisburg. Born Dec. 6, 1923, in Thompsontown, he was a son of the late Dory and Anna (Stutts) Cox. His wife, Yvonne (Morgan) Cox, survives. Also surviving are: children, Benjamin L. Cos, Lewistown, William K. Cox, Lewistown, and Donna Minor, Millerstown; step-sons, Dyson D. Brady, Marysville, Earl W. Boyer, Halifax and Kerry L. Boyer, Texas; step-daughters, Cherie Smyser, Duncannon and Kim Boyer-Hall, Elliottsburg; a sister, Kathryn (Cox) Wright, Mifflintown; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, James and Paul Cox, and a sister, Nora Nipple. He was a graduate of Thompsontown High School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired from the Kinney Shoe Corporation, Shiremanstown. He also worked previously at Hall's Dairy, Millerstown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home, 325 N. High St., Duncannon with the Rev. David Wynn officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Scleroderma Foundation of Delaware Valley, 32 Medford Leas, Route 70, Medford, NJ 08055.
