Dorothy V. Ewing
SELINSGROVE - Dorothy V. Ewing, 84, a resident of Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove, formerly of McClure, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the village.

Born Dec. 13, 1914, in Adams Township, she was a daughter of the late Jonas and Cora Ada (Thomas) Keister. Her husband, Glace M. Ewing, whom she married May 14, 1938, died Oct. 9, 1988.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Judy D.) Straub, Middleburg; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Sheldon E. Ewing; five brothers, Homer, Ira, Reed, Ernest, and Merrill Keister; four sisters, Edna Bowersox, Mellie Ritter, Hulda Motter, and Gertie Jordan.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, McClure, and enjoyed playing bingo at the village.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, with the Rev. George D. Birk officiating. Interment will be in Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, McClure RR2.

Friends may call from noon until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Jack E. Fairbanks
MILROY - Jack E. Fairbanks, 70, of 73 N. Main St., Milroy, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at his residence.

Born Dec. 30, 1928, in Alexandria, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Hazel G. (Rhodes) Fairbanks. His wife, Alice M. (Morningstar) Fairbanks, whom he married Dec. 4, 1948, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Ronald P. Cutshall, Margaret G. Weaver, Edward E. Fairbanks, Charles W. Fairbanks, and Thomas Lee Fairbanks, all of Milroy, Iva E. McCartney, Mount Union, Jack E. Fairbanks, Burnham, and Robert D. Fairbanks, Belleville; brother and sister, Jesse Fairbanks, Huntingdon and Delores Mock, Steelton; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He retired on disability from Empire Kosher, Mifflintown in 1973.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Edward P. Fleming Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

John C. 'Jack' Fasick
MCVEYTOWN - John C. "Jack" Fasick, 82, of 1953 SR 103 South, McVeytown, died at 10:32 a.m. Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.

Born Dec. 2, 1916, in Altoona, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Mary Agnes (Craig) Fasick. His wife, Dorothy (Weber) Gries Fasick, whom he married Aug. 29, 1963, survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, John C. Fasick, Columbus, Ind., and Craig A. Fasick, Kistler; stepchildren, Carla Martin, Lorain, Ohio, Mrs. John (Pat) Russ, Kistler Road, Mount Union, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Paglia, Chapel Hill, N.C., and Charles Gries, Lewistown; sisters, Mrs. Walter (Marjorie) Gorsuch, Aberdeen, Md., and Mrs. G. Alan (Peg) Dunwoody, Malvern; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

He graduated from Altoona High School.

He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS West Virginia from 1936 until being honorably discharged at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Mere Island, Calif., in 1937. He also served with the Pennsylvania National Guard, and as a second lieutenant with the Pennsylvania Auxilary Police.

In 1973, he retired from Sears-Roebuck Co. with 27 years of experience. He was a salesman and division manager in Lorain, Ohio, and Altoona. After his retirement, he established Jack's Service, a plumbing, heating and electrical business serving the local area.

He held a regular life membership with Newburg Fire Co., Altoona, and was a life member of Newton-Wayne Fire Co., where he was also a past trustee. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 637 and the Squires Youth Group, Lorian, Ohio, and American Legion Post No. 107, Mount Union, and VFW Post No. 5754, Mount Union. He was also past president of Toastmasters International.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors especially at his camp near Newton Hamilton.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union, with the Rev. Elwood Figurelle officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Newton Hamilton.

Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at Heath Funeral Home, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union.

There will be a wake service at the funeral home at 8 p.m. today and a fireman's memorial service at 8:30 p.m.

Richard Eugene Faux
BENBROOK, Texas - Richard Eugene Faux, 61, of Benbrook, Texas, formerly of Lewistown, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at his home.

Born May 13, 1938, in Lewistown, he was a son of Hazel Faux of Lewistown and the late Walter A. Faux. His wife of 18 years, Jan Faux of Benbrook, Texas, survives.

Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Teresa) Murphy and Mrs. Ben (Shannon) Michener, both of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Mrs. John (Bonnie) Dwyer of Cape Canaveral, Fla. and Mrs. John (Shirley) Lommo, Lewistown; a niece and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by three stepbrothers.

He graduated from Lewistown High School and was a graduate of East Texas State University.

He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and retired as a senior master sergeant and was a former associate with the Department of the Interior.

He was also a retired logistics engineer with General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin).

He was a 20-year member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was active in the Parish Council and was a eucharistic minister and lector. He was also a member of Council No. 2813 Knights of Columbus and was active in the Diocesan Team for Renew.

Services were held at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Fort Worth, Texas, with the Rev. Timothy Thompson officiating.

A local memorial service will be held Saturday morning at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 702 Eighth Ave., Fort Worth, was in charge of arrangements.

William E. Feather Sr.
LEWISTOWN - William E. Feather Sr., 92, of 28 Delaware Ave., Lewistown, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born July 27, 1907, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late William D. and Anna Gertrude (Ellis) Feather. His wife, Beulah B. (Collier) Feather, died June 6, 1996.

Surviving are: children, William E. Feather Jr., 3 Terrace Blvd., Lewistown, Mrs. Melvin (Joanne) Price, Lewistown RR2, Mrs. David (Barbara) Jackson, 19 Fairway Place, Lewistown, Mrs. Gerald (Brenda) Swisher, 151 Ort Valley Road, Lewistown, and Steven R. Feather, 25 S. Queen St., McVeytown; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was the last of his immediate family, and was preceded in death by a daughter, R. Judith Feather; a son, Richard Feather; one grandchild and one great-grandchild; three brothers and one sister.

In 1972, he retired after 42 years of service at the American Viscose Corp. as a mechanic in the tire fabric department. He was also a self-employed cement finisher.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown and the Brooklyn Hose Co.; and was a past member of Lewistown Lodge 203 F&AM; Jaffa Temple, Altoona; and the Harrisburg Consistory.

He served two terms on the council of the Borough of Juniata Terrace.

He was a contributing writer for the "We Notice" column of the Lewistown Sentinel, and was a self-taught artist.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. David Schmuck officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jenna M. Feathers
MCVEYTOWN - Jenna M. Feathers, 19, 25 S. Queen St., McVeytown, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.

Born Oct. 20, 1980, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Steven R. and Susan J. (Kauffman) Feathers of 25 S. Queen St., McVeytown.

Also surviving are: her fiance, Nicholas T. Traxler, Traxler Lane, Longfellow; maternal grandmother, Betty Kauffman, South Market Street, McVeytown; paternal grandfather, William E. Feathers, Ohesson Manor, Lewistown; and a great-uncle, William R. Booth, South Market Street, McVeytown.

She was a freshman at East Stroudsburg University.

She was a 1999 honor graduate of Lewistown Area High School, where she was a member of the four time District 6 Championship Girls Basketball Teams and the 1996-97 and the 1997-98 State Championship Girls Basketball Teams.

She was also a four-year member of the Lewistown Area High School Girls Soccer Teams, and a member of the National Honor Society.

She was twice listed in the Who's Who Among American High School Students and was the 1999 WCHX outstanding girls basketball player for Mifflin County.

She was Methodist by faith.

She loved to draw and spend time with her friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McVeytown United Methodist Church, South Queen Street, McVeytown, with the Rev. Marian E. Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.

Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.

Robert Lewis Felker
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Robert Lewis Felker, 81, of St. Mary's Manor, Blue Springs, Mo., and formerly of Independence, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at the manor.

Born June 24, 1918, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Rueben Isaac and Susie Mae (Kahley) Felker. His wife, Betty L. Felker, died Nov. 23, 1989.

Surviving are: a daughter, Susan Schiller, Lee's Summit, Mo.; a son, Scott Felker, Independence, Mo.; a sister, Shirley Casey, Tempe, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 75th Division as sergeant first class. He fought at the Battle of the Bulge and served as honorary guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He was a life member of the American Legion.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 10 at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Funeral Home Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, Mo. Interment was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Heart of America Hospice.

Roberta "Bert" Elaine Feltz
MCCLURE - Roberta "Bert" Elaine Feltz, 27, of McClure RR2, died of natural causes at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at her home.

Born Feb. 9, 1973, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of John and Rebecca (Kratzer) Feltz of McClure RR2 (Bannerville).

Also surviving are: a sister, Anna Marie Feltz, at home; two brothers, John G. Feltz Jr., McClure and Raymond E. Feltz, at home; and a niece, Tasha L. Feltz, at home.

She loved animals and going for rides in the car.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McClure chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes Inc., North Brown St., McClure with the Rev. John Grumbine officiating. Interment will be in the Bakers Church Cemetery, McClure RR2.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. till the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
