Esther L. Michael
LEWISTOWN - Esther L. Michael, 81, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, formerly of South Grand Street, Lewistown, died at 12:12 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2000, at the nursing home. Born March 5, 1919, in Saxton, she was the daughter of the late William R. Shimer and Alice V. (Guthridge) Shimer Swisher. Her husband, Omer C. Michael, died Feb. 20, 1998. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Cynthia) McCavitt, Mechanicsburg; a brother, Gilbert Shimer, Upper Darby; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one granddaughter. She worked at the Malta Home, Granville and the Visiting Nurses Services. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Wayne Mast officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home. Albert H. Miller
MCALEVY'S FORT - Albert H. Miller, 82, of McAlevy's Fort, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Valley View Haven, Belleville. Born Oct. 7, 1917, in Mauch Chunk, he was the son of the late Frank George and Clara (Deahn) Miller. His wife, Madeline (Wilson) Miller, whom he married March 1, 1938, died Sept. 24, 1979. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Dennis (L. Renee) Hardin, Wichita, Kan., Arlen C. Miller, Stow, Ohio, and Kenneth D. Miller, State College; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was owner and operator of A.H. Miller Lumber Company, McAlevy's Fort, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church; the Free and Accepted Masons, Mt. Myriah, Huntingdon; the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Altoona; and the Jaffa Shrine, Altoona. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, with the Rev. Robert Cauffman officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, McAlevy's Fort. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.

Albert K. Miller
REEDSVILLE - Albert K. Miller, 84, of 137 Pine St., Reedsville (Lumber City), died at 4 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at his residence. Born Nov. 25, 1915, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Estella (Spigelmyer) Miller. His wife, Mae M. (Reichley) Miller, whom he married Aug. 25, 1945, survives. Also surviving are: children, Donald F. Miller, Patriot, Ind., Michael A. Miller, Lewisville, Texas, Mabel Swarm, Bellefonte, Evelyn Fultz and Dorothy Dill, both of Milroy; sisters and brother, Elizabeth Russell, Lewistown, Helen Louise Grassmyer, McVeytown and Carl W. Miller, Mifflintown; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles B. Miller, and one grandchild. He retired as a spot welder from Fisher Electronics, Reedsville in 1980. Previously he had worked for 28 years at American Viscose, Lewistown and for Standard Steel, Burnham. He attended Reedsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Robert Iddings officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Reedsville CMA Church, 222 W. Railroad St., Reedsville, PA 17084.

Alice V. Moser Miller
BELLEVILLE - Alice V. Moser Miller, 88, of 4501 E. Main St., Belleville, died at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown. Born Sept. 19, 1912, in Clearfield County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Faye (Tobias) Swatsworth. Her first husband, Henry Luther Moser, died in 1976, and her second husband, Myles Miller, died in 1989. Surviving are: sons, William E. Moser, Belleville, and Richard E. Moser, McClure RR2; brother and sister, George Swatsworth and Madeline Bray, both of New Millport; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. In her early life, she worked at the American Viscose Corporation and later at Kirby Manufacturing Shirt Factory, McClure, retiring after 28 years of service in 1974. She was a member of Grace Covenant Church, Lewistown. Services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Danny Neff officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Andrew I. Miller
MIFFLINTOWN - Andrew I. Miller, 84, of Mifflintown RR1, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 9, 1915, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Raymond and Frances (Hawkins) Miller. His wife, Bernice I. (Strassberger) Miller of Mifflintown RR1, whom he married Jan. 26, 1943, survives. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Shirley) Bush of Lewistown. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Miller and a sister, Reba V. Haller. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a staff sergeant in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He was a retired truck driver and worked for Clasters Building Supply, Lewistown. He attended the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, Mifflintown RR4. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, Mifflintown RR4, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Letner officiating. Interment will be in Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Academia. There will be no evening viewing, but friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the services Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, RR4, Box 4715, Mifflintown PA 17059. Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara J. Miller
ALTOONA - Barbara J. Miller, 37, of Altoona RR7, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Bon Secours Hospital, Altoona, after a brief illness. Born Oct. 2, 1962, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Ralph D. and Beverly J. (Vaughn) Miller of Burnham. Her fiance, Philip Miller, survives. Also surviving are: a son, David A. Servinsky, at home; a sister, Melinda A. Miller, Burnham; and maternal grandmother, Claire E. Vaughn, Lewistown. She attended Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing and had a special interest in sign language and the hearing impaired. She was Methodist by faith. She enjoyed Civil War history. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Burnham, with Karen McCachren officiating. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Burnham, PA 17009. Carn-Weaver Funeral Home, Broad Avenue, Altoona, is in charge of arrangements.

David Rolland Miller
MILROY - David Rolland Miller, 60, of 56 Vista Vue Lane, Milroy, died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000 at KOA Campground, South Myrtle Beach, SC. Born April 10, 1940 in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late George Rolland Miller and of Dorothy E. (Geisinger) Miller, who survives residing at Freedom Avenue Trailer Court, Burnham. His wife Nancy (Seby) Miller, whom he married Aug. 29, 1959, survives, residing at 56 Vista Vue Lane, Milroy. Also surviving are: children, D. Keith Miller and Wendy J. Miller, both of Milroy and Mrs. Tony (Laurie) Stoner, Burnham; three grandsons; three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was the owner/operator of the Jack Hess Construction Company, having worked for the business from 1969 to 1990, when he bought the business. He owned the construction company until 1998, and also owned the painting company, Miller Enterprises, Inc. He was a former Pennsylvania Game Commission Deputy in Snyder and Mifflin counties, and a member of the National Rifle Association. His funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family, and interment will be private at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, First Avenue, Burnham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Bldg. D Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.

Emma L. Miller
RICHFIELD - Emma L. Miller, 94, of Richfield RR1, died at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2000, at the Brookline Village Personal Care Facility, Mifflintown RR1. Born Oct. 20, 1905, in Delaware Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary C. (Lesher) Ehrenzeller. Her husband, G. Herbert Miller, whom she married Aug. 18, 1921, died March 20, 1981. She is survived by a son, Donald R. Miller, Thompsontown RR1; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Warren W. Miller and George A. Miller and two sisters, Jennie A. Brown and Cora I. McLean. She attended North East Grammar School. She was a housewife all of her life. She was a member of the Richfield United Methodist Church, where she taught the kindergarten Sunday school class and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Richfield Women's Club, Richfield Senior Citizens Center and helped to prepare the meat for Richfield Dutch Days. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, rug making and was an excellent cook. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Richfield United Methodist Church, with Pastor Vernon Shenberger and Pastor Jerry R. O'Connell, Ph.D. officiating. Interment will follow in the Richfield Union Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Richfield United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 206, Richfield, PA 17086.
