Margaret G. "Peg" Wilson
LANCASTER - Margaret G. "Peg" Wilson, 70, of 1908 Northbrook Drive, Lancaster, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at her home. Born Jan. 20, 1932, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Mary G. (Adams) Donahey. Her husband of 48 years, Lewis M. Wilson, survives. Also surviving are: children, Steve Wilson, Lancaster, Kim Sabine, Speculator, NY, Cliff Wilson, New Providence, Starann Watts, Manheim, and twins, LuEllen Martin, Brownstown and LuAnn Eitnier, Lititz; brothers and sisters, Carl "Jim" Donahey, Lewistown, Harold Donahey, Mount Union, Mabel Bilger and Helen Foust, both of McVeytown; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Donahey. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Lock Port. Services were held at the John E. Kraft Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Mountville, with the Rev. David E. Klepper Jr. officiating. Interment was in the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Salvation Army, 131 S. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17602 or to Goodwill Industries, 1048 Plum St., Lancaster, PA 17601.

Mary M. Wilson
MCALEVY'S FORT - Mary M. Wilson, 97, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, and formerly of McAlevy's Fort, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000 at Valley View Haven. Born Oct. 31, 1902, in Petersburg, RD, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ada (Keller) Koch. Her husband, Samuel Jacob Wilson, preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1966. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy) Knepp, Belleville and Merle T. Wilson, Pittsburgh; two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Rutherford and Nora Barger. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, McAlevy's Fort. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Valley View Haven Chapel, Belleville, with the Rev. Galen Sharp officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephens Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church, c/o Mrs. Gary Wilson, RD1, Petersburg, PA 16669.

Robert Lewis Wilson
LEWISTOWN - Robert Lewis Wilson, 82, of 19 Grand Parkway North, Lewistown, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born March 7, 1918, in Jeannette, he was the son of the late Dr. Robert L. and Bertha (Reinfried) Wilson. His first wife, Louise (Carroll) Wilson, died in 1998. His second wife, Lauretta (Maxwell) Wilson, whom he married Sept. 18, 1999, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Leland L. (Christina) Grubb, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Mrs. Michael T. (Pamela) Flaherty, Murrysville, and David O'D. Wilson, Lewistown; stepdaughter, Mrs. Michael (Sue) Rieg, Indiana, Pa.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served as a first lieutenant and a public relations officer at Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, Ga. He graduated from Penn State University in 1940 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, was sports editor of the Daily Collegian and a member of the Skull & Bones Honor Society. Upon graduation, he became sports editor of the Centre Daily Times, State College and after the war, was the co-owner and general manager of WMAJ, Centre County's first radio station. In 1949, he built and owned WKVA Radio, Lewistown. He was a well known on-air editorialist, winning more than 30 first place awards by the Associated Press and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. He served as color analyst with Bob Prince doing radio coverage of Penn State Nittany Lion Football; was former president of the Central Pennsylvania Broadcasting Company; director of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters; an Eagle Scout and board member and former vice-president of the Juniata Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America. He was also a board member of the United Way of Mifflin/Juniata County, heading its fund drive in 1958; past president the the Lewistown Rotary Club; was a life member of the Lewistown Elks Lodge; was president twice of the Juniata Valley Area Chamber of Commerce; and was campaign fund chairman of the Mifflin County Chapter of the American Red Cross. He was honored as Father of Goose Day celebration when the event became a full week activity. He was also co-owner and manager of Green Gables Motor Inn, Lewistown; owner of the Record Nook, Lewistown in the early 1950s and co-owner of Mifflin County's first Subway fast food restaurant. He was one of five charter members of the Mifflin County Airport Authority and one of only five members of eastern college football's Lambert Trophy Selection Committee. He also owned and operated The Country Mouse Antiques, Lewistown, with his late wife. He was a member of the Society of Professional Journalists; was a free-lance writer for several antiques publications; and was an avid collector of American decoys and shorebirds. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lewistown. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bruce A. Hinderliter officiating. Private interment will be held at Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Boy Scouts of America, 9 Taylor Drive, Reedsville, PA 17084. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Lee G. 'Sonny' Wilt
MCCLURE - Lee G. "Sonny" Wilt, 78, of McClure RR1, died at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Aug. 7, 1921, in Hollidaysburg, he was the son of the late Lee David and Kathryn (Grenable) Wilt. Surviving are: children, Noel W. Wilt, George L. Wilt, and Harriet E. Wilt, all of Lewistown, Hiram W. Wilt and Timothy I. Wilt, both of McClure, Mrs. Francis (Clara) Dobson, Alfred L. Wilt, and Yasmin M. Davis, all of Milroy; brothers and sisters, Virginia Wilt, Dorothy Foulk, Samuel Wilt, Jacob Wilt, and David Wilt, all of McClure RR1, Jerry Wilt, Harrisburg, Abel Wilt, Wilmington, Del., Joseph Wilt and Mrs. Roy (Barbara) Deamer, both of Lewistown; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He had been employed by Standard Steel and last as a self-employed sawmiller. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with David Wilt officiating. Interment will be in Wilt Cemetery, McClure. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Millicent K. Wilt
LEWISTOWN - Millicent K. Wilt, 90, of Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Highland Park, Lewistown, died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Ormond Beach, Fla. Born May 7, 1910, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Granville and Blanche Kochenderfer. Her husband, Harry Wilt, died April 5, 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Al (Julie) Maedl, Ormond Beach, Fla., a sister, Beulah Moyer, Lewistown, and one grandchild. She attended Columbia University. She was a homemaker and an accomplished musician. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewistown. She was an excellent organist and pianist, and an avid gardener. A memorial service was held in Ormond Beach, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rima Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, 500 Rodeo Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mary L. Winey
MCALISTERVILLE - Mary L. Winey, 84, of McAlisterville, died at 7:37 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born April 30, 1916 in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Effie M. (Goshorn) Hower. Her husband, Elmer Winey, whom she married Dec. 18, 1937, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Eshenower; brothers and sisters, George Maxwell Hower, McAlisterville RR, Melvin Hower, Duncannon, Donald Hower and Larry Hower, both of Mifflintown, Dorothy Sankey, McAlisterville and Helen Dysinger, Thompsontown; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren, She was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Wayne Hower and Lillian Gross. She had attended Port Royal and Big Run Elementary Schools. She was employed as a seamstress, for many years, with L. Shellenberger and Son Garment Factory, McAlisterville. She retired in 1977 as a seamstress with the Arrow Shirt Factory, Lewistown. She was a member of the McAlisterville United Methodist Church, where she was the church organist for many years and she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed all kinds of needlework, crocheting, and growing flowers. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McAlisterville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Karl R. Herman officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, where the family will be present to receive friends 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: the McAlisterville United Methodist Church, RR1, Box 792, Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Carole Ann (Jones) Winn
DANVILLE - Carole Ann (Jones) Winn, 58, of 12 Railroad St., Danville, formerly of Lewistown, Buffalo, NY, Camden, NJ, and Beverly, NJ, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at her daughter's home in Lynn Haven, Fla. She had been in ill health for the past 18 months. Born May 9, 1942, in Salem, NJ, she was a daughter of Christine M. (Smith) Jones of Ambler, formerly of Berwick and the late Simon C. H. Jones, who died March 29, 1977. She is survived by: two daughters, Lisa C. Stevens of Lynn Haven, Fla. and Pamela S. Shimko of Berwick: two brothers: Robert C. Jones of Haddon Heights, NJ and Donald R. Jones of Ambler; and five grandchildren. She was a 1960 graduate of the Lewistown High School. She enjoyed her profession as a mental health case worker in Danville. She coached softball when her daughters were in school and she enjoyed caring for cats and dogs and watching ice hockey. While living in Lewistown, she was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kelchner-McMichael Funeral Home Inc., 119-121 E. Third Str., Berwick. Burial will be in the Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Danville S.P.C.A, Danville, PA 17821.

Grace E. Wirrick
LILLY - Grace E. Wirrick, 86, of Lilly, formerly of Lewistown, died at 11 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2000, at the Altoona Hospital. Born Oct. 6, 1913, in Bridgeboro, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Rena (Gaskill) Sweeney. Her husband, Arthur Cloyd Wirrick, died Jan. 17, 1974. Surviving are: children, Arthur D. Wirrick, Lewistown, Samuel J. Wirrick, Panama City, Fla., Daniel T. Wirrick, Hollywood, Fla., Phillip G. Wirrick, York Haven, Paul J. Wirrick, Halifax, John A. Wirrick, Lilly, and Raymond M. Wirrick, Elizabethtown; brother and sister, Albert Sweeney, Virginia and Emma Grose, Washington State; 16 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, seven sisters, and one granddaughter. She was a member of Mt. Rock Evangelical Methodist Church. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Roland Pecht officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Mt. Rock Evangelical Methodist Church, Spring Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
