Marvin D. Smith
(April 28, 1921 - June 8, 2015)

Marvin D. Smith, 94, of Hamilton Township, died early Monday morning, June 8, at Gracedale in Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Hazel E. (Pensyl) Smith who died November 16, 2007.

Born on April 28, 1921 in Palmerton, he was a son of the late John and Mary (George) Smith and lived in Monroe County since he was 18 years old.

He worked for Ingersoll until retiring in 1984 after 33 years of service.

Marvin was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and Hazel would compete to see who would catch the biggest and most fish on their many trips to Canada, and in the end they came out even. He loved woodworking and made many heirloom pieces of furniture for his family and friends. He was a true craftsman. He traveled with his beloved wife Hazel, around the US, Nova Scotia and parts of Europe. Marvin and Hazel enjoyed 64 years of happy marriage together and are now on an extended "Honeymoon".

Marvin was a member of the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Strunk of Easton and Deborah Silfee and her husband Russell Sr. of Coudersport; four grandchildren, Sherri Frisbie and her husband Jason, Scott Strunk and his wife Maria, Russell "Jimmy" Silfee Jr. and his wife Sara, and Shawn Silfee; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a son-in-law, Leroy "Sonny" James; a sister, Virginia Anthony of Kunkletown; two brothers, Ellis Smith of Kunkletown and Franklin Smith of Saylorsburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa A. James; three sisters, Arlene, Sarah and Mabel; four brothers, Earl, Harvey, Raymond and Francis; and a son-in-law, Carlyle "Butch" Strunk, Jr..

The memorial service will begin at 10:00AM on Monday, June 15, at Cherry Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Crikelair officiating. Following the service, burial of both he and his wife's cremains will take place at Cherry Valley M.E. Cemetery. Cremation will be private and there will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, 1238 Kemmertown Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

Sophia H. Willis
(April 22, 2009 - June 6, 2015)

Sophia Hazel Willis, 6, of East Stroudsburg, died Saturday, June 6, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born on April 22, 2009 in East Stroudburg, she was the daughter of Rebecca Lynn (Mastrobuoni) Willis of East Stroudsburg and Terrance Willis of Analomink.

Sophia was a kindergarten student at J.M. Hill School in East Stroudsburg and a member of Christian Life Assembly in Stroudsburg.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Zeccheus Roberson a student at Albany State University; grandparents, Alfred and Joan Mastrobuoni of Florida; and aunt and uncle, Todd and Sharon Mastrobuoni.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 10, at Christian Life Assembly, 2209 West Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 10:00AM, Thursday, June 11, at the church with Pastor Craig Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to Christian Life Assembly.

Floyd J. "Red" Lambert
(January 18, 1948 - June 1, 2015)

U.S. Veteran

Floyd J. "Red" Lambert, Jr., 67, of Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on June 1.

Born January 18, 1948 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Floyd, Sr. and Eleanor (Kulp) Lambert. He was a 1965 graduate of Stroudsburg High School.

Floyd served in the United States Marine Corp as a Marine Private until he received a medical discharge.

He was employed by Pocono Produce, now Pocono Pro Foods as a devoted associate for 38 years.

Floyd was a member of the CLU Club, George N. Kemp Post 346 American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1106.

He is survived by cousins and loving friends, the Gialouris family.

Floyd touched many lives and will be forever remembered by all who knew and will be deeply missed. Memorial visitation will begin at 1:00PM followed by a service at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 7, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Pastor David Berryman will officiate. Private burial will be at Stroudsburg Cemetery.

Henry J. Tokarski
(August 10, 1957 - May 27, 2015)

U.S. Veteran
Henry J. Tokarski, 57, of Blakeslee, died suddenly on Wednesday morning. May 27th.

Born on August 10, 1957 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Henry and Lillian (Handy) Tokarski and lived in Monroe County since 1999.

He served in the United States Navy and was a handyman having done work for many people in his development.

Henry was a very well thought of individual and was a friend to all.

He is survived by a brother, Michael J. Tokarski of Blakeslee.

Graveside service and burial will be at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 4, at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 13, at Brier Crest Woods Clubhouse (please call 570-646-8802 for further details).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

Lawrence A. Zaccaro, Jr.
(November 8, 1955 - May 22, 2015)

Lawrence A. "Larry" Zaccaro, Jr., of East Stroudsburg, succumbed to cancer late Friday evening, May 22, at Golden Living Center. He was the husband of Linnette (May) Zaccaro.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Francis A. Zaccaro; daughter-in-law, Katherine Whitley; grandchildren, Benjamin and Olive Zaccaro; godson, Sam Zaccaro; and a host of close friends.

He was a graduate of the 1973 class of East Stroudsburg High and 1977 class of East Stroudsburg State College; where he was a Phi Sigma Kappa. Larry had been employed with Banko Beverage for 33 years as a sales representative.

Anyone who knew him knew that he was a devoted husband, involved father and loving grandfather.

He was also committed to this area and to many individuals he has had the pleasure calling friends over his 59 years. He will be truly missed by many.

He was a member of the BPO Elks #319, where during many years of membership he held a number of different positions including three times as Exalted Ruler. Larry was also a past member of the IMBA and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #1106. He belonged to the J. Simpson Africa Lodge #628 F& AM, was a Consistory member and member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Wilkes-Barre.

He spent countless hours volunteering his time to Easter Seals, Special Olympics, chairman of the Monroe County Sesquicentennial, YMCA and Stroudsburg United soccer coach, and several positions with Boy Scouts of America. Larry also spent time as co-president of Arcadia University's Parents Council, as well as working on the alumni board and foundation committee at ESU.

Larry might be best known for his voice: as he spent 25 years announcing as "the voice" of East Stroudsburg High School Marching Band. His dedication to this program was awarded with a place in the Music Hall of Fame at East Stroudsburg High School.

His last few years were spent enjoying his family, cruising to warm waters of the Caribbean with Linnette and solidifying a legacy for us all to follow,

Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 27, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Helen Sybilla Schwartz
(April 10, 1935 - May 9, 2015)

Helen Sybilla Schwartz, 80, of East Stroudsburg, passed away Saturday, morning, May 9, at home. She was the wife of Keith Allan Schwartz with whom she shared 64 years of marriage on April 19th. Born on April 10, 1935 in Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Evelyn (Schaffer) Marsh and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. She was a member of the German American Society.

Helen worked at the Big-N department store for five years and as a waitress at the restaurant at K-Mart for 20 years. In addition to her husband she is survived by four children, Frederick Schwartz and his wife Barbara of Saylorsburg, Deborah Davis and her husband Anthony of East Stroudsburg, Kristine Lee and her husband Robert of East Stroudsburg, and Becky Hippler and her husband Leonard of East Stroudsburg; four grandchildren, Kirk Schwartz and his wife his Stacey of Jim Thorpe, Kevin Schwartz and his wife Kelly of Lansdale, Tonya Miller and her husband Howard of Telford, and Larry Desko of East Stroudsburg; four great-grandchildren, Marcus and Sierra Miller and Melina and Madison Schwartz; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Donald Marsh, Anna Mae LaBadie and Laura (Speck) Adams. The viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by funeral services at 11:00AM on Friday, May 15, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Rev. Edmund T. Freeborn will officiate. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 322 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
