GLADYS S. DECKARD
Gladys S. Deckard, 79, of Harrisburg, formerly of Liverpool, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She was born Aug. 19, 1920 in Liverpool to the late George and Esther (Grubb) Seiler.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church; a 1938 graduate of Liverpool High School and Central Pennsylvania Business School; and liked cooking, camping and reading.
She was the widow of Barner Russell Deckard.
Surviving are a son, Kevin L. of Harrisburg; two daughters, Judy Wheatley of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Brenda Alwine of Harrisburg; five granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roscoe, Lee and Kenneth Seiler, and one sister, Evelyn Charles.
Services were held Sept. 22 at Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Charles H. Scott officiating. Burial was in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 901 N. Sixth St., Harrisburg 17102.

CHARLES L. DECKARD
Charles L. Deckard, 95, of Ann Street, Duncannon, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999 at home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1903 in Pfoutz Valley to the late Emma Jane Deckard. He retired from the former Harrisburg Steel Co.; was an Army veteran; a member of Duncannon Fire Company and VFW Post 255; and enjoyed gardening.
He was the widow of Blanche Maxwell Deckard.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis A. Robison, and two brothers, Edgar and Leroy Herr, all of Duncannon; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles M. Deckard.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Bernard Fortna officiating. Burial will be Union Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, in the funeral home..

HANNA E. DUNN
Hanna E. Dunn, 70, of Honaman House Apartments, Thompsontown, formerly of Goodville, died Monday, March 15, 1999 at home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1928 in Greenwood Twp., Juniata County, to the late Harry and Bessie C. (Garman) Trevitz.
She had worked for Bingaman Brothers, Duncannon, and Duncannon area garment factories; was a member of McAlisterville United Methodist Church; and enjoyed making afghans and flower gardening.
She was the widow of James L. Leach and George V. Dunn.
Surviving are a son, Harry J. Leach of Harrisburg; three daughters, Mary E. Little of Newport, Bessie C. Orris of Port Royal and Lois J. Leach of Thompsontown; four stepsons, Hoyle Sr., Donald, Harold V. and Kenneth Dunn, all of Thompsontown; three stepdaughters, Julia Goodling and Shirley Goodling, both of McAlister-ville, and Edna Goodling of Thompson-town; a brother, Cloyd Frye of New Bloomfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Trevitz and Daniel Frye, and a sister, Stella Foose.
Services were held March 18 in Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Donald W. Raffensperger officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.

HELEN J. DIFFENDAFER
Helen Jane Diffendafer, 88, of Millerstown died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was a former teacher in the Greenwood School District, Millerstown; a member of Highland United Presbyterian Church, Newport; and enjoyed sewing and working in the yard.
Surviving are a nephew, Thomas Diffendafer of Pittsburgh and a niece, Betsy Ann Ryan, both of Pittsburgh, and two very good friends, John Gelnet and Sue Croce, both of Millerstown.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 11 Church Road, P.O. Box 116, Newport 17074.

JOSEPH E. DWYER
Joseph Edward Dwyer, 67, of Creekview Drive, Harrisburg, died Monday, March 1, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born Oct. 11, 1931 in Mt. Carmel to the late Joseph and Mary (Nesbit) Dwyer.
He was retired as a trainman from the Pennsylvania Railroad; a Marine veteran of the Korean War; a 1950 graduate of Mt. Carmel Catholic High School; and a member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, Dauphin, American Legion Post 1001, VFW of Harrisburg and Ellendale Hunting Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Irene E. Osman Dwyer; a stepdaughter, Loretta E. Freed of New Bloomfield; a stepson, Thomas F. Casey of Martinsburg, W.V.; a brother, Francis J. Dwyer of Harrisburg; and a stepgranddaughter.
Graveside services were held with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
The Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.

JAMES S. DEVOID
James S. Devoid, 46, of Centre Twp., New Bloomfield RR 2, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999 at home.
He was born May 23, 1953 in Washington, D.C. to the late Harold and Valerie Yvonne (Halstead) Devoid.
He was an employee of PJAX; an Air Force veteran; and a member of New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463.
Surviving are his wife, Ninette Lynn Devoid; two daughters, Stephanie McGowan and Melody Prentice, both of Leakville; a stepdaughter, Cassandra Hamer of Middletown; a sister, Margerite Devoid-Nova of Harrisburg; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 30 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. H. James Williams officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

JASON R. DeLANCEY
Jason R. DeLancey, 18, formerly of Newport and Highspire, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 as the result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born July 10, 1980 in Harrisburg.
He was a computer technician for Flight Systems, York; a 1998 graduate of Newport High School; assistant chief of Highspire Fire Company; a member of Newport, Duncannon and New Buffalo fire companies, Newport Ambulance League and New Bloomfield Sportsmen's Club; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his parents, Ed and Deb DeLancey, a sister, Heather R., his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Evelyn DeLancey, and five uncles, Robert A. DeLancey, Richard R. DeLancey, Ricky L. DeLancey, Paul R. Page and Gary E. Page, all of Newport; and two aunts, Cathy L. Spiglemeyer of Middleburg and Diana L. Mangle of Liverpool.
Services were held April 3 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

LEROY A. DRESSLER
Leroy A. Dressler, 79, of McAlisterville RR 1 died Thursday, April 8, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born Nov. 21, 1919 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, to the late Lehman and Anna M. (Losch) Dressler.
He had worked at Hawstone Brick Refractories, Lewistown, as a oven tender, at W.L. Haubert Construction and John Groninger Construction, both of Mexico, Pa., and as a master block, brick and stone mason throughout the states on union construction; was an Army veteran overseas with the 93rd Evac Hospital Unit during World War II; a past commander of VFW Post 5049, Millerstown, before transferring to VFW Post 34, Newport, where he recently was awarded life membership in the VFW of the United States; past governor and current trustee of Moose Lodge 925, Millerstown, where he was awarded membership in the Moose 25 Club; a member of Moose Lodge 41, Keystone, American Legion Post 177, Newport, and the Newport Social Order of Owls; and a Methodist.
He was the widower of Florence Rusho Dressler, who died Feb. 6, 1986.
Surviving are a companion, Anna Mae Sheaffer of Newport; two sons, Duval D. of Mechanicsburg and Lowell L. of Port Royal RR 1; a daughter, Gloria J. Kepner of Port Royal RR 1; 21 half-brothers and half-sisters; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bertha Pfaff.
Services were held April 12 in Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Frank J. Swartz officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Maze Cemetery, Thompsontown RR 1.

MARIE DELBAUGH
Marie Delbaugh, 82, of Millerstown died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She was born July 12, 1917 at Hunter's Valley, Buffalo Twp., to the late William Robert and Carrie (Bair) Stroup.
She attended Buffalo Twp. schools; was an accomplished seamstress; a charter member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Richfield and its Sunday school; and a member of the Millerstown Fire Company Ambulance League; and enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and raising flowers.
She was the widow of the Rev. Walter George Delbaugh, who died May 19, 1984.
Surviving are three sons, William S. Peters of Liverpool RR 1, David L. Delbaugh of Camp Hill and Robert H. Delbaugh of Liverpool; a daughter, Hazel E. Nale of McAlisterville RR 2; four sisters, Goldie Kell, Leona Cook, Sylvia Knouse and Clara Lowe, all of Liverpool; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Clouser.
Services were held Oct. 6 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Roy R. McCarty officiating and the Rev. Peter H. Kuebler assisting. Burial was in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
