Born May 1, 1912, in St. Thomas, she was the daughter of the late David and Blanche Reed Shuman.

She was a manager at Mountainbrook Fruit Packing and Orchards.

She was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Earl E. Hartman; a daughter, Beatrice L. Rock of Chambersburg; a son, Carl E. Hartman of St. Thomas; a brother, Ben Glenn of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Thomas United Methodist Church, 360 St. Thomas - Edenville Road in St. Thomas. The Rev. Paul Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West in St. Thomas. The funeral home will open at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas United Methodist Church, 360 St. Thomas - Edenville Road, St. Thomas, PA 17252.

Charles C. Etter

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Charles Clair Etter, 85, of Manorcare Health Services, and formerly of West Second Street in Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born April 10, 1915, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Roy E. and Bessie I. Youse Etter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice W. Gordon Etter, in 1974. They were married May 29, 1935.

He retired in 1980 from the maintenance department of Waynesboro Knitting Mill. He drove a truck for Harry G. Benedict and for Robert Scott.

He was a member of Textile Workers Union; and National AARP.

He is survived by two sons, Charles W. Etter and Robert C. Etter, both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Isabelle Geesaman of Mercersburg, Pa. and Margaret Dove of Fredericksburg, Va.; three brothers, Melvin Etter of Fredericksburg, Va., Donald Etter of Washington, D.C. and Daniel Etter of Utah; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald W. Etter; a sister, Rhoda Myers; and two brothers, Kenneth Etter and Omar Etter.

Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Wilber L. Sites Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Nellie R. Kelso

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Nellie R. Kelso, 75, of 201 E. North St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center.

Born March 14, 1925, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles Morton and Ruth Leona Hendershot Reeder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. "Jack" Kelso, in 1999.

She was a beautician. She and her husband owned and operated Kelso Funeral Home for 32 years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in McConnellsburg and Lutheran Church Women.

She was a member and past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star of McConnellsburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacolin A. Cornelius of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sons, John Alan Kelso and Charles Patrick Kelso, both of McConnellsburg; a sister, Almyra Keefer of McConnellsburg; a brother, C. Harry Reeder of McConnellsburg; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Mae Reeder; and a brother, Robert Reeder.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 North Third St. in McConnellsburg. The Rev. Henry Johnson will officiate.

Burial will be Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in Union Cemetery. The Rev. Belvy White will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 North Second St. in McConnellsburg; and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Eber B. Angle

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Eber B. Angle, 80, of 1102 S. Fifth St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at his home.

Born Dec. 7, 1919, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late John I. and Bessie Bowen Angle.

He was a 1937 graduate of Shippensburg High School.

He retired in 1974 from the Social Security Administration in Chambersburg. He also worked at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg; and Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Upper Strasburg, Pa., a former Sunday school superintendent and teacher, and a council member.

He was a member of Orrstown Lodge 262 F. & A.M.; and Chambersburg AMVETS Post 224; and Upper Strasburg Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret A. "Peg" Rosenberry Angle; a daughter, Kathryn L. Johnson of Upper Strasburg; two sons, Edward B. Angle and Jack R. Angle, both of Chambersburg; two sisters, Virginia Stauffer of Darnestown, Md. and Peggy Wilson of Boiling Springs, Pa.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Orrstown, Pa. The Revs. Mark A. Werner and Bonnie B. Hoffman will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Upper Strasburg.

Visitation will be Sunday following the service at the church.

Hobert Miley

Born March 27, 1943, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late David R. and Arbella Kyler Miley.

He was a 1962 graduate of Greencastle Antrim School District.

He was a warehouseman and maintenance worker for Distillery Product Sale Corp., affiliated with Seagrams. He also remodeled homes.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He attended Criders United Brethren Church.

He was a member, secretary and treasurer of Inner City League, a member of Thursday Night League at Nellie Fox Bowling Alley, Loyal Order of the Moose 842, General James Chambers Masonic Lodge 801 and president and coach of St. Thomas Youth League, Colt and Little League. He also started St. Thomas Midget Football.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Williamson Miley; two daughters, Annette Christine Martinez of Baltimore and Shari Lynn Seilhamer of Chambersburg; two sons, Christopher Michael Miley of Baltimore and Jeffrey Allen Naugle of Chambersburg; five sisters, Helen Ritter, Grace Pisle and Pearl Spiker, all of Chambersburg, Fleda Bobb of Carlisle, Pa., and Sandra Douglas of Fayetteville; eight brothers, Gervis Miley, Frank Miley, Ronald Miley, Rodney Miley and Donald Miley, all of Chambersburg, Marlyn Miley of Chaney, Wash., Charles Miley of Duncannon, Pa., and Julius Miley of Fayetteville, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Services will be Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at Criders United Brethren Church. The Rev. David Newell will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 3, at 1 p.m. at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Lutheran Social Services, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201; or American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
