Born Feb. 26, 1949, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Roger K. Monn and Nellie L. Willhide Monn.

She attended Chambersburg High School.

She was former owner/operator of Mountain House Restaurant, McConnellsburg, Pa., for 17 years.

She was a member of Church of the Brethren, Chambersburg.

She was a life member of AMVETS Post 224 Auxiliary, Chambersburg and a member of American Legion, Wesley Yeager Post 606, Fort Loudon, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Barnhart, whom she married Oct. 6, 1979; three daughters, Ginger Fleming of McConnellsburg, Tina Miller and Cindy Smith, both of St. Thomas, Pa.; two sons, Chris Carbaugh of Chambersburg and Corey Carbaugh of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Lynn Hamsher of Fayetteville, Pa., Robin Monn of New York, N.Y., and Cindy Martin of Shippensburg; a brother, Dave Highlands of Chambersburg and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Highlands and a brother, Ronnie Highlands.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Kenneth L. Gibble will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Stoey W. Forrester

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Stoey W. Forrester, 83, of 9046 Pineville Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at 2065 Orrstown Road, Shippensburg.

Born April 5, 1917, in Freestone (Horse Valley), Pa., he was the son of the late Cleveland and Vernna Rosenberry Forrester.

He was owner/operator of Forrester Lumber Co., Shippensburg, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of First Church of God, Shippensburg.

He was a member of Antique Automobile Club of America and was director of Orrstown Bank for 27 years.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Wenger Forrester, whom he married Oct. 26, 1938; a son, Robert Forrester of Shippensburg; a sister, Mable Hammond of Chambersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Ray Forrester and Harry Leedy, both of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Forrester.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Michael Wentz will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Oliver Clayton

AMBERSON, Pa. - Oliver "Jerry" Clayton, 54, of 17263 Stewart Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, May 19, 2000, at his home following a short illness.

Born Dec. 9, 1945, in Spring Run, Pa., he was the son of Mabel Varner Clayton, Spring Run, and the late Samuel Clayton.

He was a 1964 graduate of Fannett-Metal High School.

He was the owner of Jerry's Auto Sales, Culbertson, Pa.

He was a member of Laurel Grove United Methodist Church, Spring Run.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jane Kling Clayton, whom he married Aug. 17, 1987; three sons, Michael Coons of Fort Loudon, Pa., Mitchell Coons of Blairs Mills, Pa., and Shane Clayton of Lancaster, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Karen Showe of Greencastle, Pa.; a stepson, Steven Burdge of Chambersburg, Pa.; a sister, Kathy Jones of Chambersburg; two brothers, Larry Clayton of Spring Run and Arthur Clayton of Amberson; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Laurel Grove United Methodist Church, Amberson Road, Spring Run. The Rev. Karl R. Herman will officiate. Burial will be private.

There will be no public viewing.

Memorial contributions may be made to Building Fund of the Laurel Grove United Methodist Church, in care of Judy Clayton, P.O. Box 18, Amberson, PA 17210.

Arrangements are by John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run.

She is survived by her husband, King D. Jackson, whom she married March 4, 1948; two daughters, Ethel M. Marshall of Fayetteville and Annie L. Jackson of Chambersburg; three sons, William L. Jackson of Chambersburg, Jesse J. Jackson of Harrisburg, Pa., and Willie L. Jackson of Bayminnett, Ala.; two sisters, Manerva Snow and Lela Davis; three brothers, Omar Snow, Zanny Snow and Tom Snow; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Elder Edgar L. Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Verda M. Burkholder

QUINCY, Pa. - Verda M. She is survived by two daughters, Lauretta M. Reynolds of Greencastle and Della L. Conley of Mount Joy, Pa.; two sisters, Julia Mowen and S. Irene Heckman, both of Chambersburg, Pa.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Hawbaker, D. Ray Hawbaker and Seth Hawbaker.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, 11420 Welsh Run Road, Mercersburg, Pa. The Revs. J. Howard Meyers, Carl Meyers and Kenneth Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in Meyers Cemetery near Welsh Run.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, and Thursday at the church at 9 a.m.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.
