BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Anthony C. Born May 16, 1976, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of Ronald L. and Mary K. Miller Oden of Blue Ridge Summit.

He was employed as a crane operator at Casting Technology, Waynesboro, Pa., for two years. He had been employed at Sterling Unlimited Vault Co. of Woodsboro, Md., for the past year.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mandy L. Scott Oden, whom he married March 6, 1998; a daughter, Kali Oden, at home; paternal grandmother, Mildred Oden of Lewistown, Md.; aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Raymond Clemont and Helen Eileen Proser Miller; paternal grandfather, Raymond Leo Oden; and a sister, Virginia Lee Oden.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. James M. Sollenberger will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sarah Starr

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Sarah Starr, 60, of Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, April 23, 2000, in Amarillo, Texas.

She was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Kirksville, Mo.

She graduated from North Central Missouri State with a bachelor of arts degree.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Starr, whom she married April 6, 1983; two daughters, Rachel Hayden of Columbia, Mo. and Brandy Bass of Chambersburg; three sons, Benjamin Terrell of Fort Loudon, Pa., Justin Terrell of Chambersburg and Anthony Bass of Moberly, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Melissa Horton of Norfork, Va., Paula Carbough of Chambersburg and Pamela Layman of St. Thomas, Pa.; a brother, Dr. James Stookey of Lewisburg, W.Va.; and 19 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ragged Edge Road in Chambersburg.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Florence L. Young

FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Florence Louise Young, 78, of 11275 Lincoln Way West, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, March 31, 2000, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Feb. 7, 1922, in Hampton, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clifton B. and Florence E. Payne Martin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford F. Young, in 1979.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Chambersburg.

She was a member of American Legion Wesley Yeager Post 606 in Fort Loudon.

She is survived by a daughter, Lori L. Young of Fort Loudon; two sons, Gerald F. Young of Fort Loudon and Lawrence V. Young of Fort Loudon; a brother, Albert W. Martin of Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West in St. Thomas, Pa. James McGehee will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, 218 N. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Italia Donise

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Italia Donise, 87, of 200 N. Health Care Center.

Born Oct. 28, 1912, in Arpraise, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Sabato and Laura Rossi Lombardi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archille Donise, in 1951.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.

She performed with the Chambersburg Community Theater in the play "Little Abner" for the Chambersburg Elks Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Dora Herandez of Bethpage, Long Island, N.Y., Alba D. Thorn of Dover, Pa., Vickie Collette of Chambersburg and Anne D. Berenstein of Los Angeles; a sister and three brothers, all of Arpraise; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. The Rev. Thomas R. Brenner will be celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg, with rosary recitation at 8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Nelson O. Clever

NEWBURG, Pa. - Nelson O. Born Feb. 23, 1920, in Cashtown, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul D. and Ethel Sites Clever.

He farmed in the Franklin County, Pa. area. He worked as an iron worker for Davis Steel Co. of York, Pa., retiring in 1979.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He attended Blue Mountain Assembly of God Church of Newburg.

He was a member of Detrich-Brechbill American Legion of St. Thomas, Pa.; and Local Union 404 Iron Workers of Harrisburg, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Olive Crouse Clever, whom he married Nov. 27, 1943; a son, Michael L. High of Orrstown, Pa.; two sisters, Flo Mae Adkins of Chambersburg and Faye Toms of Marlowe, W.Va.; three brothers, Paul D. Clever Jr. of Chambersburg, Robert Clever of Deland, Fla. and Ned Clever of Pleasant Hall, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; and a brother.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. in Mercersburg, Pa. The Rev. Clarence W. Dehart Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

George Banavich

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - George Banavich, 84, of 250 Leedy Way West, and formerly of Elizabeth, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

He was a graduate of Elizabeth High School.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Elizabeth.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth.

He is survived by his wife, Edith McLay Banavich; two sisters, Virginia McKnown and Madaline Campayno, both of Pennsylvania; and a brother, William Banavich of Elizabeth Township.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Pennsylvania.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home in Elizabeth.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
