Hospital.

Born Jan. 19, 1919, in Marion, Pa., he was the son of the late J. Albert and Maude S. Creps Martin.

His first wife, Margaret L. "Maggie" Bonebrake Martin, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died May 5, 1980.

He attended Greencastle area schools.

He was Antrim Township tax collector.

He farmed, worked at the Creamery in Greencastle and hauled milk and drove a cattle truck for William Hartman Trucking of Clay Hill, Pa.

He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle, and the church council.

He served on Greencastle-Antrim School Board; and was a former member of the Kauffman Ruritan Club.

He was a member and co-founder of Pennsylvania Tax Collectors Association; member of Plum Hollow Hunting Club and Greencastle Senior Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Ruth O. McCormick Martin; three daughters, Judith A. Barr of Greencastle, Nancy J. Cocklin of Dillsburg, Pa., and Donna L. Martin of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a son, Randy E. Martin of Chambersburg; two stepsons, Richard V. Oberholzer and Jeffrey L. Oberholzer, both of Greencastle; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, three sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greencastle. The Revs. Martin Horn and Donald Bohn will officiate. Burial will be in Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle; and at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Fund of Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, PA 17225.

David E. Furry Jr.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - David E. Furry Jr., 72, of 1158 Knob Hill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his home.

Born Nov. 15, 1927, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late David E. Sr. and Gail Carmack Furry.

He retired as a warehouse worker at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa., after 30 years.

He was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ, Mcknighttown, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Ott Furry, whom he married June 7, 1947; a daughter, Judy K. McCans of York, Pa.; a son, David E. Furry of Fayettesville; three sisters, Dorothy Parr of Fayetteville, Emma Mason of Shippensburg, Pa., and Nancy Faircloth of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Charles Falk Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Marshall Bivens Jr.

HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Marshall Bivens Jr., 66, of North Clear Ridge Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center.

Born March 24, 1933, in Wood, Huntingdon County, Pa., he was the son of the late Marshall Sr. and Stella Meck Bivens.

He had worked in a furniture factory in Ohio.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. and fire police.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Groff Bivens, whom he married June 8, 1963; a stepson, Charles E. Groff Jr. of Everett, Pa.; four sisters, Jessie Alther of Middletown, Pa., Lois Rohrer of Waterfall, Pa., Shirley Albert of Leesburg, Va., and Jackie Ramper of Harrisburg, Pa.; a brother, William Bivens of Salem. Ala.; six stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. The Rev. Belvy C. White will officiate. Burial will be in Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery, Wells Tannery, Pa.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Fay C. Hawbaker

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Fay C. Hawbaker, 82, of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 235 S. Ridge Ave., Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born July 16, 1917, in Williamson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William G. and Verna B. Haulman Parker.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle.

She is survived by a son, Richard P. Hawbaker of Vass, N.C.; two sisters, J. Lucille Holstay of Mercersburg, Pa., and Betty L. Hawbaker of Greencastle; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; four sisters, and three brothers.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. The Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate.

There will be no public viewing.

Memorial donations may be made to Franklin County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Wilbur B. Stine

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wilbur B. Born Nov. 17, 1928, in Cleversburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Blaine and Elsie Russell Stine.

He was employed by T.B. Woods, Chambersburg, as a drill press operator, retiring in 1990 after 40 years.

He was a member of St. James United Brethren Church.

He is survived by his wife, Clara L. Davis Stine, whom he married April 7, 1950; two sons, the Rev. Lester Stine of Chambersburg and Ronald Stine of Greencastle, Pa.; four sisters, Cora Kunkle, Anna Bell, and Doris Stouffer, all of Shippensburg, Pa., and Susan Cramer of Fayetteville, Pa.; five brothers, Charles Stine, Dave Stine, John Stine, Edgar Stine and Frank Stine, all of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The Rev. Kenneth Wenger will officiate.

There will be no public viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers; memorial donations may be made to St. James United Brethren Church, 2404 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201; or to Alzheimer's Memory Fund, ManorCare Health Services, 1070 Stouffer Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
