FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Arthur W. Wenger, 87, of Piney Mountain, and formerly of 530 Centerville Road, Newville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at Piney Mountain.

Born Feb. 29, 1912, in Letterkenny Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph N. and Clara Jane Stewart Wenger.

He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 46 years in Delaware County and New Jersey.

He was a member of United Brethren in Christ Church in Carlisle, Pa.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Carlisle, and Newville Area Lions Club.

He is survived by one son, Thomas J. Wenger of Boothwyn, Pa.; two sisters, Alice E. Eberly of Chambersburg, Pa., and Cora C. Forrester of Shippensburg, Pa.; one brother, Richard J. Wenger of New Franklin, Pa.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Kenneth W. Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Building 2, Suite 321, 2001 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17102.

John R. Frey

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John R. Frey, 60, of 261 Martin Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Dec. 27, 1938, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Charles E. Sr. and Margaret M. Miller Frey.

He was a 1957 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

He was a conveyor operator for Reynolds and Reynolds in Chambersburg and Hagerstown for 18 years, retiring in December 1998. He was working in maintenance for Cracker Barrel Restaurant; and as a route delivery person for The Public Opinion Newspaper, both in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon D. Garland Frey; three daughters, Diane Reed of St. Thomas, Pa., Kimberly Swisher of Harrisonville, Pa., and Misty Frey at home; a foster son, Terry Frey at home; two stepdaughters, Janet Monn and Crystal Monn, both at home; two sisters, Irene Statler of Chambersburg and Eleanor Baer of Fayetteville, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Frey Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Emery L. Toms

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Emery L. Toms, 79, of 22 W. Fourth St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at his home.

Born May 9, 1920, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Wellington and Jettie B. Stuckey Toms.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.

He was employed by Landis Machine Co., Waynesboro. He worked for 30 years as a tool designer for Fairchild Manufacturing, Hagerstown. He retired in 1982.

He was a member of Waynesboro Fish And Game Association; and Mercersburg Sportsmen's Association.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia R. Smetzer Toms, whom he married in December 1941; two daughters, Judy LaPole of Waynesboro and Nancy Eccard of Hagerstown; two sisters, Violet Good and Frances Koons, both of Waynesboro; a brother, Wayne A. Toms of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Toms; and a grandson, William L. Toms.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Wilber L. Sites will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Dorothy M. Bock

FAIRFIELD, Pa. - Dorothy M. Hahn Bock, 54, of 1300 Old Waynesboro Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Aug. 9, 1999, at her home.

Born March 12, 1945, in Emmitsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Luther A. and Ida Emma Jacobs Hahn.

She attended school in Sabillasville, Md.

Her husband, Harry D. "Sonny" Bock Jr., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1996. They were married Dec. 7, 1962.

She and her husband delivered newspapers for The Herald-Mail Co. in Hagerstown, and Waynesboro Record Herald. They also sold fruit and produce in the Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., area and Rouzerville, Pa.

She is survived by two daughters, Tina M. Bock of Fairfield, Pa., and Nancy J. Wagaman of Blue Ridge Summit; one son, Harry D. Bock Jr. of Fairfield; three sisters, Ida Mae Sklarevski of Sabillasville, Helen McClain of Fairfield, and Mary McGlaughlin of Emmitsburg; nine brothers, Luther Hahn of Aberdeen, Md., Paul Hahn of Cascade, Clarence Hahn, Lloyd Hahn and Ronald Hahn, all of Emmitsburg, Albert Hahn of Sabillasville, George Hahn and Joseph Hahn of Waynesboro and James Hahn of South Mountain; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Hahn and Robert Hahn.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Eugene M. Cline will officiate. Burial will be in Fountaindale Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Jens Twedt

SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Jens Twedt, 97, of Michaux Manor and formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Aug. 9, 1999, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Sept. 14, 1901, in Norway, he was the son of the late Torkel and Anna Larson Tviet.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen F. Anderson Twedt, in 1993.

He was a self-employed carpenter and contractor.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy I. Gray of Chambersburg and Marilyn T. Jensen of Tehachapi, Calif.; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Oakhill Cemetery in St. Louis.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Aioleen J. McCleary

She was a graduate of Lemasters High School.

She owned and operated Pug's Beauty Shop out of her home. She retired in 1979.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, and had served as a Cub Scout den mother.

She is survived by her husband, Merle D. McCleary, whom she married April 17, 1948; two sons, the Rev. Denton L. McCleary of Williamstown, N.J., and Daryl J. McCleary of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister, Thelma Athey of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal O. Hively will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 Commerce St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
