Retired from the Public Works Department of the City of Johnstown. She enjoyed bingo and knitting. Member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Monsignor George B. Flinn, VG. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, corner of Jackson and Locust streets. Committal, St. Anthony Cemetery. DIEHL - Virginia G., 90, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Portage, went to be with her Lord on July 25, 2007, at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. Born June 18, 1917, in Portage, the daughter of John and Flavia (Castel) Helsel. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry Diehl; brothers, Leo Helsel and Clarence "Don" Helsel; and sisters, Dorothy Brunnet and Eleanor Oldham. Survived by children, Charles Diehl, married to the former Roberta Hileman, Altoona; Judy Gorba, Portage; Don Diehl, married to the former Sylvia Zoccoli, Stony Point, N.Y.; Bonnie, wife of the Rev. Carl Wolfe, Ashville; and Barbara, wife of Dennis Peters, Cresson. She will be sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Evelyn Lutz and Fran Helsel, and wife, Gini, both of Portage. Virginia was an avid Steelers fan. She was an excellent baker and candy maker who also enjoyed crocheting and raising house plants. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mark A. Serenko Funeral Home, Portage. Friends also will be received on Saturday at the Dry Run Independent Baptist Church, Duncansville, from 1 until time of funeral service at 2 p.m., the Rev. Carl Wolfe officiating. Brother of John LaMark, Charles LaMark, Lena Currie and Grace Deola. Also survived by mother-in-law, Susan Grant, and companion and special friend, Theresa Massimilla. Formerly employed by Springfield Mines. Ralph dedicated 35 years to his church as custodian and caretaker of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Northern Cambria. Member of former Mount Carmel Church. ROTHBAUM - Judith Ann London

Judy was Born Dec. 24, 1945, in Johnstown, to Irving and Cecelia London. After graduation from Westmont Hilltop High School, she received a B.A. from Chatham College, Pittsburgh, in 1967. She received her M.P.H. from the University of Oklahoma in 1982. She was the owner of Judith Rothbaum Consulting since 2001, and had a widely-recognized career in national and local consulting for anti-poverty programs, substance abuse counseling and community-based health care programs. After graduation from the Pittsburgh Anti-Poverty Program and continuing for Region III of the Office of Economic Opportunity (National Anti-Poverty Program), Judy was active as a consultant for fund development, program development, program evaluation and social services management from 1972-1992. She was research director of the Community Council of Central Oklahoma from 1992-2002, and a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Planning Councils, Children's Medical Research Institute and Possibilities: Neighbors in Action. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Rothbaum, Esq. Her survivors include daughters, Ann L. and Rebecca L. Rothbaum; her brothers, Wayne, Danville, Vt., and Ralph, and his wife, Bobbi, Portland, Ore., as well as adoring nieces, nephews and many close friends. Burial was held July 17 in Oklahoma City.

SHREVE - Rosaline R.
SHREVE - Rosaline R. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Ross, Frank and Louis Crocco; and sisters, Matilda Custer, Josephine Ehling, MaryAnn Dowdell, Edith Fisher and Nora Freedman. Survived by son, Thomas Oden, Oakland, Calif.; daughter Patty Main, La Canada, Calif.; grandchildren, Flora deTournay-Oden, San Rafael, Calif., and Zacchary Main, La Canada, Calif.; brother, James Crocco, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a veteran of World War II, achieving the rank of chief in the U.S. Navy. Always looking for ways to make a contribution, she volunteered in local hospitals in the San Diego area during her later years. Loving mother, grandmother and aunt. A great friend to all who knew her well and a warm and generous spirit to all whom she met. She was well loved by all. Family and friends received from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, the Very Rev. Paul E. Turnbull, VF. Committal, St. Anthony Cemetery.

Survived by wife, Hermina "Minnie" Salas; children, Cindy Cruse; Doug, married to Marlene Budney; and Claudia, married by Brian Marsh, all of Johnstown; Mindy, married to Tim Wisyanski, Latrobe; Debbie, married to Scott Boring, and Lorie, married to Bob Harrison, both of Johnstown; grandchildren, Jodi, Jaime, Ian, Kayla, Dana, Evan, B.J., Trey, Annette, Allison, Zack, Stephen and Kelcy; great-grandchildren, Logan, Laikyn, Nicholas and Michael; brother, Melvin (Marge), Florida; sister, Deann Potter (Vernon), California; and sisters-in-law, Irene and Dorothy Singer. Member of Berkley Hills Golf Club and Korean War Veterans Association. He was an original organizer of Johnstown Pool League and an avid Steeler and Pitt fan. Retired foreman from Bethlehem Steel Corp. Korean War veteran. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Conemaugh Regional Hospice or New Day Inc.
