RAYMOND - Ethel, 93, East Taylor Township, passed on Sept. 4, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. She was Born on June 30, 1914, in Morrisdale, daughter of Frank and Barbara (Kerkes) Wido. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Raymond; sisters, Elizabeth Raymond and Bertha Oberacker; and brothers, Steve, Frank Jr., George and John. She is survived by her son, Dean, married to the former Joyce Burns, Sanford, Fla.; granddaughter, Donna, wife of Adam Budynski, Orlando, Fla.; sister, Helen Johnson, Akron, Ohio; a brother, Lewis Wido, Dubois; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ethel was a member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church and its Women's Society and the Friendly Hand Sunday school class. She also was a 14-year volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce. At Ethel's request, there will be no public viewing. Friends are invited to attend a public memorial service at 6 p.m. Saturday at Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Zimmerman officiating. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at The Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Rev. Penny Adams officiating. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, 2142 William Penn Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15909, in memory of Ethel.

RODRIQUEZ - Mrs. Alice
RODRIQUEZ - Mrs. Alice, 68, Windber, passed away Sept. 4, 2007, at home. Born Oct. 21, 1938, in Franklin County, Va., daughter of Noel and Okie (Shorter) Yopp. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Wanda Rodriquez; infant daughter, Angela Rodriquez; and sisters, Christie-Belle Yopp and Emma Sue Toney. Survived by husband, Trinidad; son, Fred Barrick, married to the former Karen Bossi, Windber; daughter, Maria, wife of Ted DeGraffenreid, Romulus, Mich., and Jose Rodriquez, and partner, Paul Smith, Orlando, Fla.; and grandchildren, Raymond Barrick, and wife Jessica; Steph Barrick; Kayla Rodriquez-Vera; Omar Pantojas; Somerton DeGraffenreid; and Azarel DeGraffenreid. Also sisters, Sarah Swihart, Geraldine Stegall, Joyce Jones, Mary Broughman, Barbara Grimes, Diane Wright, Vicky Adams and Darlene Irby, and brothers, Malvin Yopp, Wilbert Yopp, James Yopp, Henry Yopp, Winston Yopp and Charles Yopp. Alice enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Calvary United Methodist Church, Windber, where funeral service will be held Friday at noon. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Friday at the church, the Pastor Gary Grau officiating. Interment in family Cemetery in Callaway, Va. SALYAN - Henry

He was a member of Willoughby Eagles, loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. Employed by United Parcel as a painter with 30 years of service. Survived by daughter, Georgene (Roger) Richards; son, Daniel (Michelle); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, John and Frank. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Anna. SCHNAUBELT - Mrs. Alice

She was Born Jan. 14, 1919, in Sankertown, Cresson, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary B. (Kearns) Hammond. She married Anthony F. Schnaubelt on May 14, 1946, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1988. Mrs. Schnaubelt was a homemaker. She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona. Alice was a 1938 graduate of Cresson High School. She was a member of Cathedral Christian Mothers and a past member of Mother Seton Guild. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching TV, gardening and playing cards. She is survived by two daughters, Jane A. Smithmyer, and her husband, Ronald, of Ebensburg, and Mary A. Leininger, and her husband, Barry, of Cumru Township, Pa.; a son, Ret. Maj. Edward F. Schnaubelt, and his wife, Patricia, of Schertz, Texas; two sisters, Catherine Byrnes and Esther Spinner, and a brother, Bernard "Red" Hammond, all of Cresson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brian Smithmyer, Angela Lambing, Sheila McKeta, Jessica Dickerson, Erica Wilson, Monica Schnaubelt, Stephen Leininger and Veronica Schnaubelt, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony "Tony" Schnaubelt Jr.; a grandson, Edward Schnaubelt; and two brothers, Walter and James Hammond. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament for Masses in memory of Alice, 1301 13th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601.

Donald M. Peterson

He retired after 30 years of service with the Berlin Brothersvalley School District, where he had served as the athletic director and head football coach for several years. Also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer Slaugenhaupt, Meghan Good, David Byer, Gregory Byer, Celeste Cost, Nicole Good and Michael D. Good, and three great-grandchildren. Sister of Rose Eash, Boswell. Member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, where she was a former choir member. HILL – Norman T.

Joseph K. Jacobson

NEMETH – Albert “Al,” 75, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord Sept 8, 2007. Born Oct. 15, 1931, in Johnstown, son of John Sr. and Anna (Nemit) Nemeth. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Charles, killed in action in WWII, James, William and John Jr. Nemeth; and son-in-law, Rauel Gaviola. Survived by beloved wife of 54 years, the former Dorothy “Dolly” Frankowsky, and these children: Francine, wife of Richard Bodnar, and Charles, married to the former Nancy Sharrets, both of Johnstown; Monica, wife of Stephen Hunt, Angola, Ind.; Sandra Gaviola, Pittsburgh; and Matt, married to the former April Knepper, Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren, Anne Bodnar; Jessica Roberts; Stacy Nemeth; Angela, Albert, Austen and Aubrey Hunt; Nicholas and Gwen Gaviola; Josie and Faith Nemeth; and great-granddaughters, Emily Roberts and Ivy Gaviola-Peterman. A brother of Anna Vuckovich, Maryland, and Robert Nemeth, Johnstown. Retired employee of General Yard Department of the former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired sergeant first class from the 876th Engineer Battalion, 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard. A builder of numerous homes and a master craftsman in ceramic tile work. Al was an avid dancer. A member of Post 954 CWV and St. Stephen Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Andrew Stanko. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, where vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to St. Stephen Church Renovation Fund or Johnstown Chapter of the American Red Cross, in memory of Al Nemeth. Graveside military service by 876th Eng. Bn. Pa. National Guard and the Korean War Veterans Association. Harley-Davidson Bikers Association will provide a motorcade to the Cemetery.
