Preceded in death by parents; husband of 53 years, Orange R., May 13, 2001; son, Van, June 30, 2001; sisters, Mary Kessler, Alice Short, Clara Adams, Edna Pyle and Jessie Sheets; and brothers, William and Melvin Adams. Survived by sons, Eugene, Boswell R.D., and Larry, married to Jean Palmer, Petersburg, Va.; grandchildren, Crystal, Jamie, Jennifer, George, Kristin and Brandi; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former Jerome Lutheran Church. Viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home -- Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Larry C. Hoover officiating. Interment, Maple Springs Cemetery.

TOTH - Dennis David, 65. Born July 1, 1940. Passed away Feb. 7, 2006, at home. Hurry! Jumper has been waiting to show you all of the pheasants. Look, other old friends have been waiting to share with you the majestic woods and clear streams. Family and friends will miss you, your stories and jokes, but you will forever live in our hearts each and every time we enjoy the outdoors, see a fish jump, wind somebody up or watch a setter point. Denny leaves behind his wife, Anetta Jo Selip-Toth; daughter, Kori Toth-Gray, and her husband, Steven Gray, and grandsons, Kiel Hunter Gray and Keegan Fisher Gray; daughter, Kelsi Toth-Orris, and her husband, Keith Orris, and July Toth. Also his brothers, William, Ronald and James; numerous nephews and nieces, protoges and friends. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo. A wake immediately following at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, Vintondale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dennis D. Toth Memorial Bridge Fund of Kettle Creek Valley or take a child hunting and/or fishing.

Survived by husband of 61 years, John; sons, Edward, and wife, Veronica, Seward, and James, and wife, Leanne, Armagh; granddaughter, Diane Trazes, Robindale Heights; stepgrandchildren, Robin Gibson, New Florence; Laura McClure, Michigan; Dawn Short, Patton; Gloria Day, Indiana; Patrick Hirsch, Armagh; great-grandchildren, Donavan and Lauren Trazes; stepgreat-grandchildren, Alex and Becca Gibson; Ali and Ben McClure; Ian and Amanda Short; Erica Hirsch; sister, Ann Kadi, Seward. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. Retired employee of Indiana Hospital. Friends received from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, Armagh. Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, the Rev. John Wilt. Interment, Armagh Cemetery. Parish rosary, 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

BALDWIN - Edward I. "Slick"
BALDWIN - Edward I. "Slick," 71, of Vintondale, passed away May 2, 2006, at Windber Hospice. Born July 6, 1934, in Nanty Glo, son of the late Isaac and Elizabeth (Briggs) Baldwin. Preceded in death by wife, Emma (Szabo) Baldwin. Survived by daughter, Kathy, and husband, Mark Daugherty, Jackson Township; grandchildren, Scarlett, Natasha and Mark II. Also survived by sisters, Elizabeth, and husband, James Collins, of Ohio; Florence Tulner of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Vintondale First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. Retired from Bethlehem Mines #33 with 28 years of service. Member of UMWA. Social member of Vintondale VFW. Member of Vintondale Fireman's Club. An avid fisherman, hunter and "Ace" mechanic. Pap was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Rich Stock officiating. Interment, Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to the John P. Murtha Cancer Institute.

Walker, married to Kristen Brignola, Illinois; Dr. John Walker, Johnstown; James Walker, Illinois; Julie Walker, married to Anthony Sansone, Ohio; five great-grandchildren: Hailey, Isabella and Troy Walker, Anna and Emily Sansone; brothers-in-law, Richard Bunn, Ohio; Frank Caeti, Johnstown; and Hermina Glavach, Ohio. Member of St. Benedict Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at noon, the Rev. Monsignor Robert J. Saly. Friends received Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. Worked as a sewing foreman for Publix Shirt Factory, Gallitzin, for 39 years, and retired in 1992. Elliott enjoyed being a Pap. He was well-liked by all who knew him. He played baseball in the Altoona City League and enjoyed hunting during his younger years. He enjoyed golf and pitching horseshoes and participated in the Blair County Senior Golden Olympics in horseshoes and was a member of the Blair County Horseshoe League. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Coupon, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Monsignor Michael Servinsky, celebrant. Committal, St. Thomas Cemetery, Ashville. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Friday.

HOWARD - William "Wild Bill" R.
HOWARD - William "Wild Bill" R., 56, of Manchester, N.H., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died May 2, 2006, at Elliot Hospital, after a sudden illness. Born in Johnstown on Sept. 12, 1949, he was the son of William H. Howard and Nancy (Bollington) McCloskey. He resided in Pennsylvania before moving to Manchester 20 years ago. Mr. Howard graduated from Conemaugh Township High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from The University of Pittsburgh in 1975 and a master of science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Later, he earned a certificate in psychiatric-vocational rehabilitation from Boston University and a certificate in special education from the University of New Hampshire. During the Vietnam War, Mr. Howard served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Howard worked as vocational rehabilitation counselor with the State of New Hampshire for 20 years. Most recently, he worked as a special education teacher in mathematics at Londonderry High School. Mr. Howard will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather whose family was the center of his life. In his life, Mr. Howard was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed reading and writing poetry, listening to music, yard sales, and gardening. Family members include his wife of 36 years, Glenda J. (Chamberlian) Howard of Manchester; three sons: David Howard, and his wife, Valerie of Berwick, Maine; Aaron Howard, and his wife, Stephanie of Laconia, N.H.; and Seth Howard of Manchester; three grandchildren: Madison and Olivia Howard of Berwick, and Cole Howard of Laconia; two brothers, Jon Howard of Lancaster, and Jody Howard of Washington, Mo.; his sister, Debbie Howard of Johnstown; his mother of Pennsylvania; his stepfather, Larry McCloskey, and mother-in-law, Jean Chamberlian of Manchester; many nieces and nephews.
