GENEVIEVE M. BUTRYN, 84
Genevieve M. Butryn, 84, of Titusville, RD 5, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at 4:15 a.m. in the home of her daughter, Yvonne Wagner, after a long illness.
Mrs. Butryn was born Jan. 1, 1916, at Franklin to the late John and Mary Baellic.
She marriage Harold "Chubby" Butryn on Nov. 10, 1941, in St. Patrick's Church, Franklin. He died Jan. 28, 1985.
Mrs. Butryn was a homemaker and liked cooking, gardening and canning. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and being a good neighbor.
She was a member of St. Titus Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Yvonne) Wagner and Mrs. Fred (Beverly) Sagan, both of Cooperstown, RD 1, and Mrs. Gary (Joyce) Proper of Titusville, RD 5; five grandchildren, Eric Proper of Florida, Aaron Proper of South Carolina and Douglas Sagan, Chad Wagner, Lynette Sagan and Neil Sagan, all of Cooperstown; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Nellie Brankowitz; three brothers, Pete, William and John Baellic; and a granddaughter, Regina Maureen Sagan, died previously.
Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Franklin.
Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association or Area Agency on Aging of Crawford County or the Chapmanville or Cooperstown volunteer fire departments.

MABEL P. LAMENSKIE, 100
Mabel P. Lamenskie, 100, formerly of 603 W. Central Ave., died at 7 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 2000, in Beverly Healthcare-Titusville, where she had lived since April 8, 1997.
Mrs. Lamenskie was born Jan. 24, 1900, at Titusville to the late Jacob Maynard and Winifred Reynolds Peeples.
She marriage Michael Ferenchak on June 10, 1916, at Titusville; he died March 22, 1969. She later marriage James B. Lamenskie on Feb. 7, 1970, in St. Titus Church; he died Dec. 30, 1989.
Mrs. Lamenskie had been employed at Quality Markets and as a clerk at the former G.C. Murphy Co.
She was a member of St. Titus Church and its altar rosary society.
Surviving are a sister, Helen I. Daye Taylor of Titusville, and several nieces and nephews.
No public calling hours will be observed.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Titus Church, 513 W. Main St.; or Benson Memorial Library, 213 N. Franklin St.

FRANK A. ROOT, 91
Frank A. Root, 91, of Titusville, RD 4, died March 4, 2000, in Meadville Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

WILLIAM F. PRICE SR., 74
William F. Price Sr., 74, of 202 E. Main St. died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at 5:55 p.m. in Titusville Area Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Price was born June 27, 1926, at Titusville to the late Joseph B. and Eleanor A. Rosenberg Price.
He and the former Edith V. Bortzer were marriage April 25, 1959, at Centerville by the late Rev. Charles Fuller.
Mr. Price was formerly employed by the Fisher and Young lumber mill. He then went to work for Spartywood and later returned to the Fisher and Young plant, which by then was named American Hardwood.
He enjoyed listening to gospel and country music and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William J. Price Jr. and Timothy L. Price, both of Titusville; a daughter, Vicki L. Celender of Oil City; seven grandchildren, Clayton W. Price and Ashleigh D. Price of Titusville, Tina M. Price and Cristal N. Price of Jackson Center, Travis S. Price and Brenda V. Heath of Oil City and Jennifer L. Celender of Pittsburgh; three brothers, Edward Price, Harold Price and Robert Price, all of Centerville; two sisters, Mrs. Warner (Donna) Cole of Canfield, Ohio, and Mrs. George (Marian) Hawthorne of Hydetown; two aunts; and four nephews.
An infant sister, Lisa May Price; a brother, Richard Price; and a sister, Betty Price, died previously.
Friends and relatives may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. by Rev. Ronald A. Frazier, pastor of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
Interment will be in East Troy Cemetery.

DANIEL A. KING, 40
Daniel A. King, 40, of the Bear Lake area of Lottsville, RD 1, died Saturday, Oct. 7.
King was born Aug. 19, 1960, at Corry to Donald M. King of Lottsville and the late Patricia Adams King.
He was formerly employed by Mosher Milling at Lottsville, Corry Manufacturing and MRC Bearing.
Mr. King was a member of Lottsville United Methodist Church.
He was an avid hunter.
Survivors include a son, Nicholas King of Titusville; a daughter, Danielle King of Warren; a sister, Janice Harwood of Lander; two brothers, Jeff King of York and Steve King of Corry; and several nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His paternal grandparents, Oman King and Florence "Tillie" Topmiller; and his maternal grandparents, Forest and Hazel Adams, died previously.
Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Home, Sugar Grove. The funeral will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Lottsville United Methodist Church by Rev. Bernard Boom.
Interment will be in Lottsville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Lottsville United Methodist Church, A.A. or N.A.

MARY A. WAGNER, 94
Mary A. Wagner, 94, of 117 McKinney Road died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, in Millcreek Community Hospital, Erie.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home.

JOSEPH T. KURTIC, 71
Joseph T. Kurtic, 71, of 3005 State St., Erie, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
Mr. Kurtic was born Aug. 6, 1929, at Titusville to the late Jacob and Mary Sajen Kurtic.
A 1947 alumnus of Titusville High School, he graduated from Erie Business Center. He retired in 1991 from Erie Forge and Steel after 27 years employed at the shop's storeroom.
Mr. Kurtic was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church and Lakeside Golf Course.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed studying his Croatian heritage.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Shape Kurtic; a sister, Ann Markovich of Carey, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Marilyn Kurtic of Sun City Center, Fla.; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Friends may call today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, West 25th and Sassafras streets, Erie, where the funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Harry Johns.
There also will be a service Wednesday at 1 p.m. in St. Catharine's Cemetery chapel.
Memorials may be made to City Mission New Life Center, 1023 French St., Erie, 16501.

DEAN A. FORTNEY, 72
Dean A. Fortney, 72, of 393 Dunham Road, Pleasantville, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.

FLOYD R. SPENCE, 88
Floyd R. Spence, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at 1:20 a.m. in Mayview State Hospital's intermediate care facility mental retardation unit at Bridgeville.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home.

DONALD R. EMERSON, 82
Donald R. Emerson, 82, of Titusville, RD 3 (Route 8 South), died unexpectedly at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in Titusville Area Hospital shortly after his arrival.
Mr. Emerson was born Jan. 24, 1918, at Titusville to the late Arthur and Harriet Hansen Emerson.
He and the former Florence Whitten were marriage May 24, 1941, in the Rocky Grove Church of God parsonage by Rev. Frank A. Towers.
Mr. Emerson was a graduate of Titusville High School.
He served in the Army during World War II. While serving in Europe, he was wounded and returned to the United States. He was preparing to go to the South Pacific when the war ended.
Mr. Emerson was employed at Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. (Cytemp) for 42 years. His early years were in the shipping department, and he later transferred to the laboratory. He retired in 1980.
He was a member of Bruce Shorts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958 and the Elder Statesmen Golf League.
Survivors include his wife of Titusville, RD 3; two sisters, Marcelyn Jacobson and Evelyn Antill, both of Titusville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, James "Bus" Emerson, Wayne Emerson, Arthur Emerson, Howard Emerson and William F. Emerson; and two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Alberta Manross.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home and attend the funeral there at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. William Hopkins, pastor of Titusville Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

ARTHUR V. COLLINS, 78
Arthur V. Collins, 78, of 212 11th St., Franklin, formerly of Cooperstown, RD 1 (Dempseytown), died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Collins was born Feb. 26, 1922, at Cherrytree, a son of Walter V. and Lucy Dietrich Collins. He was marriage to Katheryn Lena Hillberg on Feb. 7, 1953, at Kaneville. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 1995.
He was self-employed as a truck driver prior to starting his family. He later drove for Chap Lamey, PennDOT and Trans Penn. He retired from Refiner's Transport in Rouseville in 1983.
Mr. Collins was a member of the Cherrytree Bible Church, where he was a regular usher prior to his wife's illness. He was a member of the local Teamsters Union and a former member of IOOF. He had attended Oakland Township Senior Center. He enjoyed fishing in Canada and tended to a small farm in Dempseytown. He had raised rabbits in his youth.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Collins of Titusville and Leroy Collins and his wife, Cindy, of Franklin; five daughters, Miss Dixie Collins and Miss Dinah Collins, with whom he lived in Franklin; Ms. Lucy Waters of Franklin, Ms. Wendy Collins of Oil City and Mrs. Earl (Carrie) Zeitler of Charlton, N.C.; nine grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Carl (Gertrude) Mashburn of Dillsboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Collins.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Saturday) from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and attend the funeral service there at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Jerry Lamey officiating. Interment will be in Cherrytree Cemetery.
