EUGENE 'GENE' R. McCHESNEY, 60
Eugene "Gene" R. McChesney, 60, of West Hickory died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, in his home.
Mr. McChesney was born Sept. 30, 1938, in Tidioute to the late Roy A. and Margaret Lynch McChesney.
He marriage the former Sandra L. Wilson. She survives.
A 1957 Tidioute High School graduate, Mr. McChesney retired from the state Department of Transportation, where he had been a mechanic supervisor.
He enjoyed the outdoors as well as hunting and trapping. He belonged to the Forest County and Pennsylvania trappers associations. He was active in the Youth Field Day program, for which he did trapping demonstrations.
Mr. McChesney was a Methodist.
Also surviving are two sons, Scott A. McChesney of Augusta, Ga., and Kent E. McChesney of Sumter, S.C.; three grandchildren; a brother, Ralph McChesney of Tidioute; a sister, Patricia Hannah of Pittsfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in West Hickory Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

MARGARET M. 'PEG' MUNDT, 77
Margaret M. "Peg" Mundt, 77, of Erie, formerly of Grand Valley, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, in St. Vincent Health Center.
Miss Mundt was born June 19, 1921, in Titusville to Frank J. and Mary Catherine McHenry Mundt.
She was a 1941 Youngsville High School graduate.
Miss Mundt had been employed by Ruhl Smith, Sylvania and GTE at Pleasantville as an inspector from 1952 until her retirement in 1987.
She was a former member of the Goodtimers of Erie and Newton Dinner Club. She enjoyed traveling, reading and cooking.
Surviving are: a sister, Janet Davis of Erie, with whom she lived for the past five years; a brother, James M. Mundt of Warren; two nieces; and four nephews.
A brother, William John Mundt, and a sister, Catherine Nichols, died previously.
Interment will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Erma Lamenskie, 614 E. Walnut St., Titusville, or the American Cancer Society, 201 W. Spring St., Titusville.

NORMAN E. REYNOLDS, 87
Norman E. Reynolds, 87, of 16716 Drake Hill Road, Townville, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Reynolds was born June 29, 1911, in Steuben Township to LeRoy Reynolds and Maude Tubbs.
He marriage the former Opel Elizabeth Henderson on March 11, 1936. She died Nov. 27, 1988.
Mr. Reynolds was a life-long farmer but had also worked at Cytemp, retiring as a crane operator in 1975. He belonged to the Cytemp Quarter Century Club.
He attended Townville Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Naomi Diamond of Austinburg, Ohio, and Eyla M. Summar of Millersville; three sons, LeRoy W. Reynolds of Townville, Lynn P. Reynolds of Pittsburgh and Paul N. Reynolds of Painesville, Ohio; and eight grandchildren, Norma Diamond, Elaine Reynolds, Christopher Reynolds, Jennifer Reynolds, Melisa Keller, Benjamin Reynolds, Wesley Reynolds and Derek Reynolds.
A brother, Dalton Reynolds; and four sisters, Norma Armstrong, Elnora Frost, Zelma Hipple and Dorothy Cotton, died previously.
Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
Memorial donations may be made to Townville Baptist Church's building fund, 33274 N. Main St., Townville, 16360.

CHARLES C. SOUTHWICK, 73
Charles C. Southwick, 73, of 22670 Phillips Drive, Pleasantville, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Southwick was born April 1, 1925, in Titusville to Vance and Helen Alcorn Southwick.
He marriage the former Effie Parkin on April 12, 1946, in Union City. She survives.
A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Southwick served with the signal corps at Caserata and Leghorn in Italy. He was honorably discharged Oct. 15, 1947, with the rank of technician fifth grade.
He was employed by General Electric of Erie from 1947 to 1952. He was later employed at Trans Penn in Titusville from 1952 until his retirement as plant manager in 1988.
Mr. Southwick had attended Gilson Ridge Free Methodist Church.
He was a member of the Union City Lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Elder Statesmen golf league. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, baseball and football.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Carol Southwick and Mrs. Larry (Linda) Geer, both of Union City, and Brenda Southwick of Grove City, Ohio; three grandsons; a granddaughter; two great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Elaine) Ongley and Mrs. Rulin (Pauline) Snyder, both of Titusville; and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Eastern Crawford County, 322 W. Main St., Titusville.

RICHARD A. GUSTAFSON, 73
Richard A. Gustafson, 73, of Erie, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va.
He was born in Titusville, July 6, 1925, son of the late Henry and Dolly Wallin Gustafson.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He was employed with Lord Corp. until his retirement. Before that, he had worked at General Electric Co. He enjoyed sports and leather working. He had served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Fox Gustafson, and a sister, Ruth Swanson.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Jozefowicz of Yorktown, Va., and Christine Gustafson of Temmecula, Calif.; a son, the Rev. Burton Gustafson of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brother, Russ Gustafson of Indiana, Pa., Robert Gustafson of Alexandria, Va., and Raymond Gustafson of Fort Myers. Fla.; four grandchildren, Kathi Hill, Maegan and Andrew Gustafson and Amanda North; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Interment was at Erie County Memorial Gardens.

MARJORIE BELLE HART, 79
Mrs. Marjorie Belle Hart, 79, of 10340 Pastorius Rd., Titusville, died at 1:15 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in the Titusville Area Hospital. She had been a patient there for the past five days.
Mrs. Hart was born on March 17, 1919, in Titusville, a daughter of the late Cecil R. and Hazel Mildred Green White. She attended Titusville Area Schools.
She marriage Marvin V. Hart on July 30, 1940, in Winchester, Va. Mr. Hart died on Aug. 17, 1969.
Mrs. Hart was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making dolls.
She is survived by one son, Marvin V. Hart Jr. of Cookville, Tenn.; one daughter, Miss Darlene Hart of Titusville; three grandsons, Joel Marvin Hart, Jeffrey Brian Hart, Jeremiah Travis Hart, all of Cookville, Tenn.; three step-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Gladys White, Mrs. Lela Buterbaugh, Mrs. Lillian Hart and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters: Anna May White and Betty Jane White, both died in infancy.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.

NELLIE S. MURPHY, 75
Nellie S. Murphy, 75, of 617 W. Elm St., Titusville, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Titusville Area Hospital.
Mrs. Murphy was born June 7, 1923, in Neilltown to the late Ralph and Myrtle Brown Scott.
She marriage Kenneth C. Murphy on Oct. 6, 1945, at Pleasantville United Methodist Church. He died Sept. 11, 1986.
Mrs. Murphy graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1941 and from Butler Business School in Pleasantville.
During World War II she worked in Washington, D.C., as a secretary. She was previously employed by Allied Roll Builders for 10 years as a secretary.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Titusville First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Szczepanski of Grand Island, N.Y., Rebecca Schmidt of Titusville and Mrs. Ward (Donna) Peck of Cambridge Springs; six grandchildren, Michael Schmidt of Titusville, John Szczepanski and Sarah Szczepanski of Grand Island, and Dolly Peck, Jennifer Peck and Samantha Peck of Cambridge Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Warren Scott, and a sister, Lucille Foulk, died previously.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.

RICHARD A. VOSBURGH, 70
Richard A. Vosburgh, 70, of 5 West Dillon Drive, Titusville, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Sugarcreek Station.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

VIRGIL V. ONGLEY, 68
Virgil V. Ongley, 68, of Grand Valley, Selkirk Road, died at 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Cleveland Clinic.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced.

LEWIS 'TOM' A. BROWN, 51
Lewis "Tom" A. Brown, 51, of Riceville died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Titusville Area Hospital.
Mr. Brown was born July 2, 1948, at Titusville to Betty Emerson Brown of Forestville, N.Y., and the late Lewis Brown.
He was marriage to the former Rebecca "Becky" Greer, who survives.
Mr. Brown was raised and educated in the Cherrytree and Diamond areas.
After high school, he began working at Erie Co. Plastics. He then worked for Ajax Iron Works, now Cooper Industries, and also owned and operated his own dairy farm at Britton Run. Until recently he had worked for many years at VIP Machining in Spartansburg. He also was a milk hauler throughout the area.
Mr. Brown attended Riceville United Methodist Church.
A former Little League coach in Bloomfield Township, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Throughout his life his family was his top priority, and he was a proud grandpa.
Also surviving are: a daughter and her husband, Sherry L. and Brian Eastman of Riceville; a son and his wife, Curtis R. and Michelle Brown of Lincolnville; a sister, Judy A. Rodgers of Titusville; two brothers, Daniel Brown and his wife, Terry, and Michael Brown, all of Forestville; and four grandchildren, Sydney Eastman, Curtis Brown, Carrie Brown and Kyler Brown.
A brother, Dennis Emerson, died previously.
Interment will be in Riceville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2 S. Center St., Corry, 16407; or Erie County Diabetes Association, 3850 Walker Blvd., Erie, 16509.
