PAUL A. McGREGOR, 77
Paul A. McGregor, 77, of 42868 W. Central Ave. died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, in Beverly Healthcare-Titusville, where he had lived for several weeks.
Mr. McGregor was born Feb. 28, 1922, at Pleasantville to the late Emery and Laura Woodworth McGregor.
He attended schools in Pleasantville and Pineville.
One of Mr. McGregor's first places of employment was at Tionesta Dam, during the building of the structure. He had been employed for more than 30 years as a knife craftsman at Queen Cutlery and also had worked at McGregor Gulf, 303 W. Spring St., for many years.
He was an avid fan of both the Cleveland Indians and the Browns. He also enjoyed tinkering with his car.
Mr. McGregor was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include: a brother, Charles McGregor of Titusville; a sister, Margaret Thomas, with whom he had lived; and three nephews, Charles McGregor Jr. of Tidioute, Timothy P. McGregor of Titusville, and Terry McGregor of Colorado.
Four brothers, Raymond, Floyd, Earl and Chip McGregor; and Earl's twin, an infant sister, died previously.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 322 1/2 W. Main St., Titusville.

LENA MARIE REYNOLDS, 71
Lena Marie Reynolds, 71, of Pittsfield, RD 2, Box 104 (Sanford Road), died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at noon in her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Reynolds was born May 10, 1928, at Grand Valley to the late Cyril and Lena Tubbs Paden.
She marriage Paul A. Reynolds on Aug. 13, 1954. He survives.
Mrs. Reynolds graduated from Youngsville High School in 1947.
She attended Sanford United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Reynolds was active in the support of her children's activities, including 4-H and Girl Scouts. She also volunteered many hours at Sanford Cemetery.
Also surviving are: a son, James Reynolds of Sanford; a daughter, Nancy Gerber of Ridgway; two grandchildren, Sara and Jacob Gerber of Ridgway; five sisters, Pauline Gregory and Alice Hopkins, both of Titusville, Mildred Coe of Pleasantville, Margarie Bunce of Townville and Beverly Frank of Corry; and three brothers, Dick Paden of Corry, Art Paden of Grand Valley and Glenn Paden of Claremont, Calif.
Four brothers, Robert, Jim, Howard and Ralph Paden; and a sister, Ann Beers, died previously.
Interment will be at Sanford Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice of Crawford County.

DONALD R. EMERSON, 82
Donald R. Emerson, 82, of Titusville, RD 3 (Route 8 South), died unexpectedly at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in Titusville Area Hospital shortly after his arrival.
Mr. Emerson was born Jan. 24, 1918, at Titusville to the late Arthur and Harriet Hansen Emerson.
He and the former Florence Whitten were marriage May 24, 1941, in the Rocky Grove Church of God parsonage by Rev. Frank A. Towers.
Mr. Emerson was a graduate of Titusville High School.
He served in the Army during World War II. While serving in Europe, he was wounded and returned to the United States. He was preparing to go to the South Pacific when the war ended.
Mr. Emerson was employed at Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. (Cytemp) for 42 years. His early years were in the shipping department, and he later transferred to the laboratory. He retired in 1980.
He was a member of Bruce Shorts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958 and the Elder Statesmen Golf League.
Survivors include his wife of Titusville, RD 3; two sisters, Marcelyn Jacobson and Evelyn Antill, both of Titusville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, James "Bus" Emerson, Wayne Emerson, Arthur Emerson, Howard Emerson and William F. Emerson; and two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Alberta Manross.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home and attend the funeral there at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. William Hopkins, pastor of Titusville Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

MARY ELLEN BLY, 81
Mary Ellen Bly, 81, of 606 W. Walnut St. died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital.
Mrs. Bly was born June 12, 1919, at Pony, Mont., to Henry and Winifred Semmens Peavy.
She and her husband, Leo Bly, who survives, had been marriage 45 years.
A graduate of Townville High School, Mrs. Bly was a retired bookkeeper. She had worked in Woolworth's at Meadville and Struthers Wells.
She was a member of Townville Baptist Church, for which she previously had been treasurer.
Survivors include: a son and his wife, Jim and Cindy Bly of Allison Park; a daughter and her husband, Cindy and Mark Hatch of San Francisco; five grandchildren, Allison Bly, Andrew Bly, Laura Bly, Christopher Hatch and Luke Hatch; and a sister, Marcella Drake of Meadville.
A sister, Allice Ann Marsh, died previously.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Townville, where the funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Dwain Patrick, pastor of Townville Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery.

DEAN A. FORTNEY, 72
Dean A. Fortney, 72, of 393 Dunham Road, Pleasantville, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Fortney was born July 16, 1928, at Ludlow to the late Harry L. and Eleanor Blum Fortney.
He marriage the former Bettie Sue Ducat, who survives, on April 8, 1948, in Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Mr. Fortney was a 1947 graduate of Titusville High School.
He had been employed at Trans Penn Wax for 42 years until his retirement.
Mr. Fortney had attended Faith Community Church in Enterprise.
He was a life member of Oil Creek Beagle Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, his beagles and farming.
Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Ray DeArment of Titusville; five grandchildren, Mrs. Dan (Holly) Gricks and Mrs. Randy (Hope) Gafner, both of Pleasantville, Mrs. Joel (Rae Ann) Matteson of Hydetown and Mrs. Rick (Amy) See and Carrie DeArment, both of Titusville; four great-grandchildren, Randa Gafner, Chase Matteson, Abigale Matteson and Ally See; a brother, Jack Fortney of Missoula, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fortney was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda J. Miller; and a sister, Shirley Yashinski.
Friends may call at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., when the funeral will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Drake, pastor of Faith Community Church.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville.
Memorials may be made to Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department, Oil Creek Beagle Club or Faith Community Church of Enterprise.

ANNA M. MORONSKI, 76
Anna M. Moronski, 76, of Grand Valley, RD 1, died at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Polk to the late Walter and Pearl Milner Hayes.
She marriage Joseph Moronski on Oct. 24, 1942, at Chapmanville. He died Feb. 6, 1972.
She had been employed at Wesley Woods as a cook for 13 years and later was employed at Warren General Hospital as a cook for 14 years, retiring in 1983.
She enjoyed embroidering and needlepoint.
The following children and their spouses survive: Linda and Kenneth Carlson of Tonawanda, N.Y.; Judith and William Hepler of Corry; Virginia and Louis Adessa of Horseheads, N.Y.; Joseph and Carolyn Moronski of Clarence, N.Y.; Ronald and Ardis Moronski of Pleasantville; Glenn Moronski of Lady Lake, Fla.; George Moronski of Warren; David and Debra Moronski of Grand Valley; and Richard and Janet Moronski of Grand Valley.
Additional survivors include nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Halfast of Centerville and Mrs. Merle (Margaret) Stroup of Titusville, RD 4; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Floyd Hays and Walter Hays; and two sisters Beatrice Adams and Hazel Pomroy, died previously.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Titus Church by the Rev. Thomas E. Brown, pastor of St. Elizabeth and St. Thomas churches, Corry.
Interment will be in Sanford Cemetery, Eldred Township, Warren County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 322 W. Main St.; Experience Inc.-Meals on Wheels, PO Box 886, Warren, 16365; or the charity of one's choice.

RICHARD D. JOHNSON, 68
Richard D. Johnson, 68, of Grand Valley, RD 1, died at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in Northwest Medical Center West Unit following an illness of several months.

Helen W. Schiewe, 80
Helen W. Schiewe, 80, of 634 E. Walnut St. died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare, where she had been a resident since Sept. 12, 2001.
She was born July 7, 1921, in Oil City to the late Clarence and Bertha Neubauer Wilson.
The family moved to Titusville in 1936, and she graduated from Colestock High School in 1940. She was employed at W.T. Grant Co. from the time of her graduation until the store closed.
She marriage Russell Schiewe on May 31, 1952, in Emanuel Lutheran Church. He died Sept. 22, 1985.
She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Surviving are: two sisters, Betty Burkett of Andover, Ohio, and Dolyne Hasbrouck of Titusville; two sisters-in-law, Nettie Wilson of Oil City and Lucille Schiewe of Virginia; a brother-in-law, Donald Laughery of Winter Haven, Fla.; an aunt, Henrietta Blum of Seneca; several nieces and nephews including Tracey Estok, Kim Hasbrouck and their families of Titusville; and many cousins, one of whom is Barbara Smith of Titusville.
She was preceded in death three brothers, Russ Wilson, Will Wilson and Bob Wilson; two sisters, Dorothy Toth and Beulah "Boots" Laughery; two sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and four nephews.
Friends may call Friday at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home from noon to 3 p.m., when the funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Kathleen Meyers, pastor of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1040 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, 15219; or the charity of one's choice.

RICHARD C. HOLDEN, 47
JAMESTOWN - Richard C. Holden, 47, of 502 E. Walnut St. died late Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 5, 2002, at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, N.Y., following a lengthy battle with kidney failure and dialysis.
He was born April 2, 1954, in Meadville, a son of Alfred and Gervaise Switzer Holden. He was the adoptive son of Richard and Carole Irwin Holden of Meadville.
He was marriage to Kristen Willson on July 3, 1982, in Houston, Texas.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School with the class of 1972 and of Boston College in 1976.
Following college, he began his career at Pennbank in Meadville in the loan department and served with various branches of the bank in the area until 1980. At this time, he relocated to Houston, where he was a loan officer. While in Houston, he attained the position of vice president with his bank. In 1991, he moved to Tulsa, Okla., where he was employed with FDIC. He relocated to Titusville in 1994, where he was employed by BSI until 1996. Since then, he had worked with Jamestown Community College's small business development center. At the time of his death, Holden was assistant vice president of HSBC Bank USA in Jamestown, where he was in the process of receiving an additional promotion.
He enjoyed spending time with his son and family. He also enjoyed reading.
In addition to his wife of Titusville, survivors include his son, Jonathon Holden at home; his adoptive father, Richard E. Holden of Meadville; a brother, John Holden and his wife, Sally, of Williamstown, Mass.; a niece, Barbara Holden; two nephews, Peter and Patrick Holden; and a cousin, William Holden.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.

HAROLD A. MEALY, 75
Harold A. Mealy, 75, of 168 1/2 S. Main St., Pleasantville, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in Titusville Area Hospital shortly after arrival.
Born April 9, 1926, he was a son of the late Harry H. and Rosa Christena Wagner Mealy.
He marriage the former Ida Jeanne Strain on Oct. 25, 1943. She died Oct. 2, 1991.
He was formerly self-employed as a logger and lumberman.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising cats.
Survivors include: three daughters, Betty Jane Maier, Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Smith and Mrs. Mark (Kimberly) Kolobitz, all of Titusville; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Claudia Mealy; two sons, William and Claude Mealy; a brother, Lawrence Mealy; a granddaughter; a grandson; and a great-great-granddaughter died previously.
No calling hours or funeral will be observed. Direct cremation will take place.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of one's choice.
