ERMA M. MILBURN ED
Erma M. Milburn Ed, 74, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at her home. She was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Robert and Millie Reed Milburn. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a manager for a car rental agency. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gary Ed. Surviving are a son, Gary Ed and his wife, Linda, of Irwin; a daughter, Valerie Opfar and her husband, Allen, of North Huntingdon; three grandchildren, Dana Ed, Gary "J.G." Ed and Brandon Lisotto; and a sister, Dorothy Zaval and her husband, Robert, of Irwin. Also surviving is her boyfriend, Ron Meyers of Plum Borough. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:15 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel with her nephew, the Rev. Donn Ed, associate pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, officiating.

JOHN J. DeMARCHI
John J. DeMarchi, 68, of West Newton, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Lowber, a son of the late Antonio J. and Dora Onder DeMarchi. He was a retired employee of U.S. Steel-Irvin Works. He was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post #7812, West Newton, the West Newton Sportsmen's Association, and the Liederkranz and Slovenian Clubs, both in Collinsburg. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Boice) DeMarchi; four children, Kevin John DeMarchi and his wife, Christine, Antonio Joseph DeMarchi and his wife, Amy, all of West Newton, Lisa Dora DeMarchi of Arlington, Va., and her fiance, Jonathan Sleigh, and Christopher DeMarchi; four grandchildren, Amanda Elizabeth, Adam John, Tiffany Renae and Andrew Thomas; and a brother, Pete DeMarchi of New Jersey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph DeMarchi; and a sister, Rose Brizzi. Friends will be received at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. John A. Regoli officiating. Interment West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 241 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

PATRICIA J. HORNE
Patricia J. Horne, 68, of Latrobe, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in the Oak Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Hempfield Township. She was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Mercer, the daughter of the late George and Sarah (Frost) Shaffer. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a teacher, having worked for the Latrobe, Derry, and Ligonier school districts, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association. Prior to her teaching career, she was employed by the West Penn Power Co. in Greensburg. She was a member of the Latrobe United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 221 of Latrobe, The White Shrine, and the William Kenley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Horne, in 1991. She is survived by her son, John P. Horne, M.D. of Latrobe; her brother, Thomas Shaffer of Sharon; her mother-in-law, Romayne (Seaton) Horne of Latrobe; two nephews, Matthew and David Shaffer; and her niece, Leslie Shaffer. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, the Rev. Aimee W. Twigg, officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Members of the O.E.S. Chapter 221 will hold services Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

CLARA M. (MARCH) HUTTON
Clara M. (March) Hutton, 83, of Export, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born March 23, 1916, in Export, a daughter of the late John and Constance (Cavada) March. She worked many years as a telephone operator for the Murrysville Telephone Co. Clara is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Clayton J. Hutton of Export; two daughters, Shirley Grimm and husband, Bob, of Virginia and Arlene Wagner of Florida; two sisters, Stella DeFrancis of Trees Mills and Velma Cadwalter of Delmont; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive family and friends at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. AT TWIN VALLEY, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Clara's funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John Hanks, pastor emeritus of the Salem Lutheran Church, officiating. Private interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Delmont. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor, in charge of arrangements.

VIRGINIA R. JONES
Virginia R. Jones, 67, of Jeannette, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. She was born April 10, 1932, in Ider, Ala., a daughter of the late Floyd A. and Annie Mae Adams Koger. Prior to retirement, she tended bar at the Grapeville Fire Hall. She was a member of the Grapeville Fire Hall and Hannastown Fire Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug and George Bob Koger. She is survived by her husband, Otis J. Jones of Jeannette; a son, Tommy Dale Hayes and his wife, Melba, of Ider, Ala.; a daughter, Carolyn Yvonne Heltebrand and her husband, Donald, of Herminie; two grandchildren, Sonny Lee Heltebrand and Christopher L. Heltebrand; a great-grandchild, Cameron James Heltebrand; a brother, Floyd Alfred Koger of Ider, Ala.; two sisters, Susie Shaw and her husband, Billy Jr., of Flat Rock, Ala., and Deanie Short and her husband, Wayne, of Ider, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Dale Roddy officiating. Interment will follow in the Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.

JOHN C. MATTEY
John C. Mattey, 86, of Rostraver Township, died at his home Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999. He was born in Monessen, Nov. 9, 1913. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen. He was the son of the late John and Mary Serbak Mattey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalia "Lil" Mattey, on June 8, 1976. He is survived by three sons, John C. Mattey Jr. of Smithton, Thomas L. Mattey of Rostraver Township and William R. Mattey of Rostraver Township; and seven grandchildren, Jennifer Mattey, John Mattey, Jaclyn Mattey, Missy Jarvis, T.J. Mattey, Justin L. Mattey and Eric W. Mattey. He was Catholic by faith, and a member of the VFW Post #167, Charleroi. Friends will be received in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., Sweeney Plan, Rostraver Township, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice.

ANGELA NELLIE SLAMINKO
Angela Nellie Slaminko, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at her residence. She was born March 3, 1914, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Julian and Victoria Chesla Kaczynski. She was a member of Visitation Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Slaminko, in 1960; and a daughter, Cecilia Eutsey. Survived by her loving family, sons, John Slaminko and his wife, Frances, of Mt. Pleasant, Edward Slaminko of Greensburg, Daniel Slaminko, Michael Slaminko, and Thomas Slaminko, all of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Frances Buffers, Patricia Eutsey, Sandi Megliorino and her husband, Robert, and Deborah Slaminko, all of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Kaczynski of Sharpsburg; and two sisters, Josephine Kaczynski of Mt. Pleasant and Pearl Erlich of Monroeville. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Anthony W. Ditto as celebrant. Interment Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

MARY NATALE TRAGESSER
Mary Natale Tragesser, 86, a resident of St. Anne Home, Greensburg, formerly of Grapeville, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999. She was born Dec. 24, 1912, in Winthrop, Pa., a daughter of the late Anthony and Louisa DePaula Dominick. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Jeannette Glass Co., and was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence J. Tragesser Sr.; two sisters, Florence DeBone and Dora Mascolo; and four brothers, Michael, Carmen, Frank and Charles Dominick. She is survived by a son, Lawrence J. Tragesser Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Monessen; two brothers, Daniel Dominick, and John Dominick and his wife, Amelia, all of Jeannette; two grandchildren, Nicolle Tragesser of Rillton and Corey Tragesser and his wife, Janine, of Sutersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette, Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Ascension Church. Entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.

TERRY L. ULERY
Terry L. Ulery, 56, of Donegal, died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Kathryn Ulery Ulery of Jones Mills and the late Donald Ulery. Terry was a resident of Donegal since 1972 and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School with the Class of 1961. He received his degree in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennyslvania and his master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Terry worked as a remedial reading specialist for the Greater Latrobe School District at the Latrobe Elementary School. He was also a former football coach at the Greater Latrobe High School. Terry also had served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. He was currently the tax collector for Donegal Township. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Terry was a member of the Acme United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carol Ann McClain Ulery; two loving daughters, Farrah Danielle Ulery of Taylorsville, N.C., and Leanne Nicole Ulery of Camp Hill, Pa.; a brother, Lanny Ulery and his wife, Nancy, of Donegal; and a sister, Karen Firestone of Normalville. Patty Vikartosky, 74, of North Chestnut Street, Scottdale, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 27, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late John B. Franey and Elizabeth M. Zaronsky Grace. Patty attended the First Baptist Church, Scottdale, and was a member of the Scottdale Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Patty leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted daughter, Judy A. Tofani of Scottdale; two granddaughters, Vicki L. Tofani of Scottdale and Sonya R. Tofani Connors and her husband, John, of Greensburg; a great-grandson, Alec Mikel Connors of Greensburg; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Rae Connors of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Vikartosky, who died Oct. 28, 1977; her stepfather, Paul H. Grace, who died Aug. 17, 1980; and a brother, in infancy.
