HELEN M. KOLAR
Helen M. Kolar, 75, of Ruffsdale RD2, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at IHS of Greensburg. Born March 27, 1924, in Yukon, a daughter of the late Adam and Karolina Gancar Gottvald. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Westland Manufacturing in Greensburg as a seamstress, having hemmed shirts for the Pittsburgh Steelers, including: Franco Harris, Jack Ham, Rocky Bleier, Joe Greene, Mike Webster and many others. She was a member of the Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church, Yukon. Also an associate member of the UMWA and the International Garment Workers of America. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Shorty" Kolar on Nov. 26, 1990; three brothers, Paul, Steve, and John Gottvald; and three sisters, Karolina and Mary Gottvald, and Agnes Kaferle. Surviving are a son, Frank E. Kolar II of Ruffsdale RD2; daughters, Karol Tkach and her husband, Joseph, of Ruffsdale RD2, Connie Reinstadtler and her husband, George, of Ruffsdale RD2, and Patti Aldridge and her husband, Gary, of Ruffsdale RD2; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Lesniak of Lower Burrell; a sister-in-law, Margie Kolar of Ruffsdale RD2; and a brother-in-law, Albert Kolar of Ruffsdale RD2. Friends will be received at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136, Madison, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Seven Dolors R.C. Church, Yukon, with Father Paul R. Stivason as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Seven Dolors Church Cemetery, South Huntingdon Township.

JOSEPH KRANCE JR.
Joseph Krance Jr., 72, of Yukon, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at his home. Born Feb. 17, 1927, in Yukon, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Molly Korber Krance. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Elliott Co. of Jeannette. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Yukon, and a member of the Yukon S.N.P.J. Lodge #729, the West Newton VFW Post #7812, the Hempfield Hunt Club and the Yukon Lick Run Hunt Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Bushnell Krance, in 1972; and a sister, Molly Costellic. Survivors include three daughters, Janet Penska of Greensburg, Jennie Lynn Moore and her husband, Gary Sr., of Yukon and Jackie Kozieniak and her husband, Mike, of Irwin RD1; five grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Penska, Gary "Tiger" Moore Jr., Gina Moore and Jillian Kozieniak; and a great-grandson, Coby Penska. Also surviving are five brothers, Anthony "Chuppy" Krance of Yukon, Ernest and Donald Krance, both of Euclid, Ohio, and William and Larry Krance, both of Yukon; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Stanisz of Monessen and Sandra Krance of Yukon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136, Madison, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. James H. Ghrist officiating. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery.

MARGARET M. LEONARD
Margaret M. Leonard, 75, of Latrobe, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born March 25, 1924, in Latrobe, the daughter of the late William and Margaret Holland Grote. She was co-owner of Leonard Jewelers, Blairsville, for 35 years, and she and her husband also owned and operated Sterling Jewelers of Latrobe. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, the National Jewelers Association and the Pennsylvania Jewelers Association. She was a graduate of Greensburg Business Institute. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Eugene and Maurice Grote. She is survived by her husband, John L. Leonard; three sons, Attorney John M. Leonard and his wife, Barbara, of Greensburg, Gerald P. Leonard of Jerald Jewelers of Latrobe and Attorney Kevin P. Leonard and his wife, Jennifer, of Latrobe; nine grandchildren, Emma, Brian, Gerald P. Leonard Jr., Kristen, Erica, Erin, Kevin P. Leonard Jr., John and Ashley; four brothers, William Grote, James Grote, Donald Grote and Regis Grote, all of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Visitation at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday in Holy Family R.C. Church, at a time to be announced. Interment in St. Vincent Cemetery.

JOSEPH A. MAFFEO
Joseph A. Maffeo, 29, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1970, in Pittsburgh, a son of Elizabeth "Betsy" Benbow Maffeo of North Huntingdon and the late Peter A. Maffeo. He was a claims adjuster for Progressive Auto Insurance, Monroeville office. He was a 1994 graduate of Clarion University and a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Clarion University Chapter. A 1988 graduate of Norwin High School. He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church of North Huntingdon, social member of the Larimer V.F.D. and an avid fishermen, hunter and an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Peter A. Maffeo Jr. Surviving are his wife, Christine Bracken Maffeo of Ebensburg; a sister, Kathleen and her husband, Liberty Hill, of Greensburg; a brother, Daniel Maffeo of North Huntingdon; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jean and Dave Bracken of Ebensburg; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melissa and Shaun McCombie of Nicktown, Pa.; a nephew, Andrew Hill; and two nieces, Kaitlyn Hill and Meghan Hill, who is also his godchild. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.

ELLEN FINLEY TEESE
Ellen Finley Teese, 77, of Ligonier RD4, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. She was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Jane Greer Finley. She had been Methodist and Catholic by faith. She was preceded in death by a grandchild; and six brothers and sisters, Dave, Bob, and Billy Finley, an infant brother, Mary Jane McCartney and Ann Lavisky. She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harry Teese; two daughters, Yvonne Stouffer and her husband, Ron, and Pat Knupp and her husband, Ron, all of Rector; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Sue Keriger of Boston, Mass., Betty Murray, John, Tom, and George Finley, all of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. David A. Bell officiating. Interment will be in Snowball Cemetery, Cook Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 152 E. Otterman St., Greensburg, PA 15601. RICHARD K. THOMAS
Richard K. Thomas, 84, of Greensburg RD7, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born April 27, 1915, in Bradford, Pa., a son of the late Willis R. and Viola Heinzman Thomas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater in the U.S. Army's 29th Division. He had attended the University of Michigan. Prior to his retirement, Richard had been employed as manager of the Pennsylvania State Bureau of Labor and Industry in Greensburg. He was an active member of the Mountain View Rotary Club. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Bess Thomas; a son, David W. Thomas of Grandville, Ohio; a daughter, Gail E. McConnon of Wilmington, Del.; and two grandchildren, Whitney and Benjamin Thomas. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Randall Roda officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 15 E. Second St., Greensburg.

BARBARA J. WETZLER
Barbara J. Wetzler, 73, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in Forbes Hospice. She was born Jan. 8, 1927, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen Maguire. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a private duty L.P.N. She was a member of The Church, Sutersville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wetzler; a brother, Benjamin Maguire; and a sister, Clara Randolph. She is survived by a son, William Wetzler; three daughters, Carol May of Plum, Cindy Laux of Greenock, and Melissa Ballas of Irwin; three sisters, Vera Hay of Florida, Val Hummert of North Huntingdon, and Connie Dean of North Huntingdon; two foster sons, Joseph Martinelli of White Oak and John Burkett of Irwin; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at time to be announced. Interment will be private in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.

BETH WILSON
Beth Wilson, 22, of Acme, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Dec. 12, 1977, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of John Wilson of New Stanton and Donna Geary Wilson of Acme. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1996 and attended the Central Westmoreland County Vo-tech School, where she studied as a beautician. She was employed by Tops Temporary Services at the Sony Plant, New Stanton, and also worked at the Sear's Hair Salon at Westmoreland Mall. She was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren of Champion. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepfather, John Pritts; a brother, Bradley Wilson and his wife, Nikki, of Acme; a stepbrother, John Pritts Jr. and his wife, Tracey, of Melcroft; a stepsister, Lisa Anderson and her husband, John, of Melcroft; two stepnieces, Marissa and Kasey; her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mildred Clark Geary of Stahlstown; her paternal grandmother, Donna Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; paternal step-grandmother, Elva Jean Pritts of Indian Head; and maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Wolk of Stahlstown. Friends will be received at the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Conn officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the County Line Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 89, Champion, PA, in memory of Beth Wilson.

JOHN GLENN DEFLORIA
John Glenn DeFloria, 52, of Irwin (Penn Township), died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Feb. 13, 1947, in DuBois, a son of John J. DeFloria of Slickville and the late Bereniece Meyers DeFloria. He was an employee of Poly Hi Solidur of Delmont. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Brush Creek Post 260; the VFW Post 7250 of Confluence; the F.O.E. Aerie 1671, Irwin; the S.N.P.J. Lodge 41; and the Diaz Club of Jeannette. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Lash DeFloria; four daughters, Michele DeFloria of Irwin, Milissa Carrig of Plum, Debra D. Wagner of Jeannette and Sandra L. Miller of Siegel; a son, Brian A. Drury of Jeannette; and 10 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Livermore officiating. Entombment will follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.

LLOYD E. EBNER JR.
Lloyd E. Ebner Jr., 92, of Jeannette, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at home. He was born Sept. 17, 1907, in Arnold, a son of the late Lloyd E. Sr. and Anna Frederick Ebner. Prior to retirement, he was a sales representative at Bud Smail Lincoln Mercury. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Jeannette, past president and current member of Jeannette Lions Club, and was serving as a Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace B. Bushyager Ebner; two brothers, Wilfred Ebner and Fred Ebner; and two sisters, Mabel Pinkerton and Emma Fallas. He is survived by a brother, Edgar Ebner of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Wanda Whalen of Jeannette; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Dr. Rev. Robert W. Jobe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Delmont. Members of the Jeannette Lions Club and Lioness Club will meet at the funeral home Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
