Lisa J. Johnson, 40, of Tarrs, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, in her residence. Born April 6, 1961, in Mt. Pleasant, she was a daughter of Donald Springer and the late June (Pfoutz) Springer. She was the owner/operator of Lisa's Day Care Service. She was a member and organist of Center Bethel Church of God. She was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, class of 1979, attended Seton Hill College, Greensburg, and graduated from Westmoreland County Community College, class of 1984. Lisa was a leader of the Sunshine 4-H Club and Laurel Ridge Girl Scouts. In addition to her father, Donald Springer and his wife, Betty Lee, of Dawsonville, Ga., she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Douglas Johnson; two daughters, Lindsey Johnson and Lizabeth Schomer, both at home; two brothers, Earl Springer and wife, Joan, of Hunker and Robert Bielecki and wife, Holly, of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Marie "Kitty" Loughner and husband, Christopher, of Tarrs, and Sherry Cottom of Everson; two aunts, Virginia Pfoutz of Tarrs and Grace Mahokey of Mt. Pleasant; and her father- and mother-in-law, the Rev. Dewayne and Mrs. Ardith Johnson of Kersey, Pa. She was preceded in death by her mother, June (Pfoutz) Springer, in 1978. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton, Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wendell S. Grimm officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, with the committal service by the Rev. Dewayne Johnson.

Marie Irene Martin-Dzadovsky
Mt. Pleasant
Marie Irene Martin-Dzadovsky, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, went to her eternal rest Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in her home. She was born May 2, 1939, in Reading, England, a daughter of the late George and Agnes Sproule Martin. A homemaker, Mrs. Martin-Dzadovsky was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale. She was the mother of six sons, Christopher, Michael, Ronald, Kenneth and Thomas Dzadovsky, all of Pittsburgh, and James Dzadovsky of Scottdale; a daughter, Marie Dzadovsky of Hecla; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Carol Feltham of Bournemouth, England; three nieces; and two nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special friend, George Gabor Sr. Friends received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. John Salko as celebrant. A committal service will follow in St. John's Byzantine Cemetery. Parastas will be sung in the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Westmoreland Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Hazel Grace Parker
Hunker
Hazel Grace Parker, 89, of Hunker RD1, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in her home. She was born Jan. 31, 1912, in Kingview (Scottdale), a daughter of the late John H. and Mary Adeline (Kineer) Hudkin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Geisel; her second husband of 20 years, Fleetwood R. Parker, in 1970; three brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her children, Eileen Geisel Felice, Betty Geisel Thompson and husband, William S., Randy Lee Parker, Saundra Lynn Parker, all of Hunker RD1, Calvin Zane Parker and wife, Janet, of Greensburg and Joyce Faye Parker Diehl and husband, Karl, of Hunker RD1; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; Emma Grace, named after her great-great-grandmother; a devoted niece, Phyllis Hudkin Grossi and husband, John, of Syracuse, N.Y.; and a number of other nieces and nephews. She attended Calvary Baptist Church, New Stanton, and was a member of the Hempfield Grange. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Brougham officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.

Russell D. Ritenour
Delmont
Russell D. "Rusty" Ritenour, 49, of Delmont, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Connellsville, a son of Theona Wagner Ritenour and the late Russell Ritenour. He was a self-employed contractor. He is survived by his wife, Cindy O'Block Ritenour; a daughter, Christina; a brother, Randall and his wife, Lori, of Florida; a sister, Tonya Ritenour of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ritenour's family received friends Monday at the BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where service will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Frederick C. Heitzenroder. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, 2901 Memorial Blvd., Connellsville. Memorial remembrances may be directed to the family.

Loretta (Nader) Berestecki
West Newton
Loretta "Dolly" (Nader) Berestecki, 77, of West Newton, went to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 19, 2001. She was born Oct. 5, 1924, in West Newton, a daughter of the late John and Azzia Nader. Dolly was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton, and was active with the kitchen committee. She worked briefly for the former American Standard Fusee Co., West Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Berestecki, in 1999; a brother, Jake Nader; and a sister, Helen Coffen. Dolly is survived by three sons, John and his wife, Gwen Berestecki, of Poland, Ohio, Paul Berestecki of West Newton and Louis Berestecki of Annandale, Va.; a sister, Louise Peters and her husband, Rod, of Saginaw, Mich.; two granddaughters, Thais Jones and her husband, David, of Tyler, Texas, and Bethany Berestecki of Knoxville, Tenn.; a grandson, Jake Berestecki of West Newton; three sisters, Millie Landini of West Virginia, Sophia Hepler of West Newton and Josephine Toscano of West Newton; a brother, George Nader of Sutersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the RICHARD F. DODSON FUNERAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family R.C. Church with the Rev. John Regoli as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.

Nancy Rose Bevilacqua
Avonmore
Nancy Rose Bevilacqua, 80, of Avonmore, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Tarentum. She was born July 11, 1921, in Monarch, a daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline Carcelli Abbati. Mrs. Bevilacqua was a member of the St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Avonmore, the Altar Rosary Society and Fannie Sellins Lodge 47. She was employed by the Kiski Area School District for over 15 years as a cafeteria aide. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John Abbati and Joseph, James and Primo Pacy; four sisters, Anna Corsini, Linda Cimra, Mary Matarrano and Santina Punzarello. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Herman D. Bevilacqua; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Donna) Seben of Saltsburg; a son, Ronald J. Bevilacqua of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. Parish wake service will be conducted Wednesday at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. William J. Homolak as celebrant. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery, Avonmore.

Gary DeMarchi

Gary DeMarchi, 65, formerly of Penn Township, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, in Phoenix, Ariz., after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Francis and Mary DeMarchi. Survived by two brothers, Victor of Trafford and Jesse; and nieces and nephews. No visitation. Interment is private. Arrangements by the HANSEN MORTUARY, Phoenix, Ariz.

Frank T. `Benny' Weir
Mammoth
Frank T. "Benny" Weir, 77, a lifelong member of Mammoth, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Mammoth, a son of the late Paul H. and Maria A. Flowers Weir. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Calumet and St. Florian Catholic Church of United. Prior to retirement, Mr. Weir was employed in management by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Corp. of Kecksburg. He was a proud veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant in the 558th Anti-Aircraft Air Warning Battalion. He was a life member of VFW Post 3368 and American Legion Post 446, both of Mt. Pleasant. He was also an honorary member of the Kecksburg V.F.D. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Weir. He was the loving husband of 53 years to Leona C. Budny Weir; and the loving father and proud grandfather of Paulette R. Gridler, her husband Richard of Scottdale, and their children, R. Thomas and his fiancee Leigh Burke, and James; Patricia E. Swiderski of Greensburg and her children, Joey and Tiffany; Frank M., his wife Sandra of Mt. Pleasant, and their children, Francis, Pvt. Jesse and Derrick; Frederick A., his wife Mary Lou of Kecksburg, and their son, Freddy; Gregory A., his wife Leslie of Acme, and their children, Tim and Danielle; Marie M., her husband Ronald Goulding of Mammoth, and their children, Ronnie, Dustin and Gregory; and Christine M., her husband Ronald Prinkey of Ruffsdale, and their son, Jeremiah; a great-granddaughter, Megan Grace; the following brothers and sisters, Paul of West Homestead, Thomas of Barsheeba, Tenn., Elmer of Camp Hill, Rose Marie Domasky of Norvelt, Alice Kapura of Greensburg, Rebecca Hibbs of Blairsville, James of Connellsville and Mary Louise Zimmerman of Youngwood. Frank is also survived by two aunts, Alice Flowers of Greensburg and Mary Flowers of Latrobe. Friends received in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be in the funeral home Thursday at 10:20 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. John M. Foriska and the Rev. Dennis A. Bogusz as co-celebrants. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Calumet. Elizabeth J. (Dryna) Brucker

Elizabeth J. (Dryna) Brucker, 71, of Scottdale, passed away Thursday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887-5300, e-mail, fergfha1usa.net, where a prayer service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be recited Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John Byzantine Church, Scottdale, with the Rev. Father John Salko presiding. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in the church Cemetery. A Panachida service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The St. John Byzantine Altar Society will recite the rosary Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Harry Blaine Cottom
Scottdale
Harry Blaine Cottom, 83, of Scottdale RD1, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 13, 2001, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Harry was born July 21, 1918, in Dawson, a son of the late Detmer and Marion Porter Cottom. He was a member of the Brian Methodist Church of Dawson. Harry was a retired maintenance employee of U.S. Steel, Irvin Works, with 28 years of service. Harry and his wife, Mary Kathryn, were owners and operators of Cottom Sun Rise Dairy for 25 years. Harry was well-known in the Fay-West area for his love of horses. For over 40 years, Harry pulled horses all over the countryside and was known for his popular horse and wagon rides through the streets of Scottdale during the annual Scottdale Coal and Coke Heritage Festival. He was a member of the Tri-County Horse and Mule Association. Harry's memories will be held dear by his wife, Mary Kathryn Durstine Cottom, whom he married May 27, 1934; their children, Henry Blaine Cottom and wife, Rebecca, Lex Allen Cottom and wife, Diane C., Awanda Ann Pritts and husband, Randy, all of Scottdale RD1; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nell Marie Carroll of Coal Center. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Ellis Cottom; and a sister, Isabelle Cottom. Harry's family will receive friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. David Lee and the Rev. Herbert Peterson co-officiating. Chapel service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
