Carl Douglas Eippert, 62, of Summerville, died Friday afternoon at his residence. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2002 at 3 o'clock in Stallsville United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the church from 1 o'clock until hour of service on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Stallsville United Methodist Church, 255 Stallsville Road, Summerville, S.C. 29485 or Palmetto House, 821 Central Ave. Summerville, S.C. 29483.
Mr. Eippert was born on March 5, 1940 in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Ellis Gerhardt Eippert and Dorothy Emma Riggenbach Eippert. He was a graduate of Westfield High School in Westfield, Ohio. He was a member of Builders Association. He was a member of Stallsville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: daughter Jeni Eippert of West Ashley; son: Michael Eippert of Summerville; daughter; Susan Rudolph of Medina, OH; 1 grandson: Christopher Rudolph of Denver, CO; brother; Dr. Glenn Eippert and his wife Linda of Ashtabula, OH; sister: Debbie Eippert of San Antonio, TX.

GOODWIN, Muriel
WALTERBORO - Muriel H. Goodwin, 69, died June 16, 2002 at hospital in Connecticut.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2002, in Spriongtown United Methodist Church, Smoaks. Burial will be directed by HAMILTON'S FUNERAL HOME in OLD MISS cemetery, also in Smoaks.
Muriel was born in Colleton County, a daughter of James and Goolie Hodges. She was educated in the public schools of Colleton County and a former member of Springtown United Church.
Survivors are: two sisters, Reola Williams of Norwalk, CT and Celestine Davis of Walterboro; one brother, Jeremiah Hodges of Walterboro; five adopted children, Peggy Matthews of New York City, NY, Minister Vandy L. Moore, Bridgeport, CT., Wilma Harris, Richmond, VA, Bessie Jarret, Wilmington, DE and Murtin Moore, Miami, FL.

LINGARD, Precious
RUFFIN, S.C. - Precious Lingard, 81, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002, in Redroot United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lingard was born in Colleton County and was the daughter of the late Malachi Boatwright and Lina Boatwright. She was a member of Redroot United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: two sons, Herman Leroy Lingard, Sr. (Mildred), Ruffin, Marion Lingard (Annie Mae), Ruffin; five daughters, Catherine Breland (John), Lina Mae Aiken, Gaffernell Hayes, all of Ruffin, Heartha Generette and Sylvia Lingard, both of Walterboro; an adoptive daughter, Felecia Lawson (Marvin), Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Letha M. Breland, Walterboro and Thelma Green, Brooklyn, N.Y. one brother, Gerald Williams, Lexington, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Ruby Williams; thirty-four grandchildren; sixty-three great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

The relatives and friends of Mr. John Robinson, Jr., those of his wife, Mrs. Carrie B. Robinson, children, Mrs. Bertha Anderson, Mr. John Robinson, III (Estelle), Rev. William Robinson (Lillian), and Mr. James Robinson (Georgia), sisters, Mrs. Annabelle Brown, Ms. Lavania Robinson, brother, Mr. Benjamin Robinson sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Robinson, Mrs. Henrietta Jackson and Ms. Elizabeth Brown, brother-in-law, Mr. James Brown (Daisy) and other relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Monday, June 24, 2002 at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, Edisto Island, S.C. BROWN, Nellie
Mrs. Nellie-Claire Brown, 87, of 2001 West 9th North Street, Summerville, S.C., formerly of Rock Hill, died on Thursday, June 20, 2002 at the Presbyterian Home of South Carolina. Church service will be held Monday, June 26, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, with Dr. William Pender officiating. Interment, Ebenezer ARP Church cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
She was the daughter of the late Darby Sanders and the late Nellie Kizer Sanders. Mrs. Brown was a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. She graduated from Holly Hill High School and attended the College of Charleston. Mrs. Brown was a devoted volunteer with more than 30 years of service to the state's elderly, disadvantaged youth, physically and mentally handicapped. She was the co-founder of Project HOPE which has served thousands of needy families since 1975. In 1989, she was the first South Carolinian to receive the "Jefferson Award" for outstanding public service. She also received the Public Service Award from the Frank Roach Post #34 of the American Legion. She was state president of the South Carolina Medical Auxiliary; member of the board of trustees of the Presbyterian Home of South Carolina; member of the Board of Visitors of Winthrop University; a trustee of The Mountain Retreat Assoc., member of the S.C. Commission on Aging, and board of directors for the Rock Hill Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Dr. Alton Brown; two sons, Dr. Alton Grady Brown, Jr. and his wife, Gabriella L. Brown of Charleston, S.C. and William D. Brown of Charlotte N.C.; her daughter, Teresa Brown Butler and her husband Lester A. Butler of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and six grandchildren, Jeffrey G.Butler and his wife, Mildred H. Butler, Jennifer B. Carr and her husband Eric R. Carr, Alton G. Brown, III, Peter H. Brown, Gabriella R. Brown and Claire L. Butler. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Gail Brown.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 23, 2002, from 4-5:30 p.m. at GREENE FUNERAL HOME, NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.

SWIESZ, Walter
Walter J. Swiesz, 59, of Moncks Corner, a mechanic with the Santee Cooper Cross Generating Station and a retired U.S. Air Force Tech Sergeant, died Friday at a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 5 PM, Sunday at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Burial will be directed by the DAY AND JONES FUNERAL HOME, Cumberland, Kentucky, at a time to be announced later.
Mr. Swiesz was born November 29, 1942 at Manchester, New Hampshire, a son of Walter S. Swiesz and Esther Cuttle Swiesz. He was an Episcopalian.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Noe Swiesz of Moncks Corner, mother, Esther Cuttle Swiesz of Manchester, New Hampshire, three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Roddey of Moncks Corner, Katherine Allen Kolwicz of Air Force Academy, Colorado, Sara Esther Seahole of Cross, 2 brothers, Franklin Swiesz of Plattsburg, New York, Edward Swiesz of Manchester, New Hampshire, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner from 6 until 8 P.M. Saturday evening.

BODIFORD, Lois
Lois Brown Bodiford, 52, of Cornet St., Moncks Corner, SC, a private investigator, died Thursday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 24, 2002, in The First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goose Creek. Interment will be in Plantation Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday evening.
Mrs. Bodiford was born May 9, 1950, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of Jessie Barnes Brown, Jr., and Lois Jeanette Beckham Brown. She was a member of the Goose Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School.
Surviving are, her husband, Siril M. "Ricky" Bodiford, Jr., her mother of Goose Creek, a son, Jessie Bryan Bodiford of Moncks Corner, a sister, Norma Gail Brown Steuber of Summerville, two grandchildren, Brittany Jessica Bodiford and Taylor Aston Bodiford, a Godson, James Anderson Walker of Summerville, and two God grandchildren, Saunseri D. Walker and Summer M. Walker.

BROWN, Willie
Entered into eternal rest Friday, June 21, 2002, Mr. Willie Brown, he is the son of the late Mrs. Lula Bell and Mr. Leslie Brown Sr., husband of Mrs. Annie Brown, father of Theresa Brown, brother of Tony Brown (Odessa), James Caulder, Mary Duncan and Helen B. AULETTO, John
VANCE - John Buck Auletto, 89, of 248 Lake Marion Lane, died Thursday in the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, S.C. Graveside service will be at 11 o'clock Monday, June 24, 2002 in Holly Hill cemetery, Rev. Jerry Phillips, officiating.
Mr. Auletto was born Aug. 26, 1912, in New York, N.Y., a son of the late James and Mary Cortese Auletto. He was a retired builder and Christmas tree farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nan Fitzgerald Auletto of the home; a son, John Auletto, Jr. of Deptford, N.J.; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Lodge of Vero Beach, Fla.; a step-son, Glenn Littlejohn of Holly Hill; a step-daughter, Mrs. Liska Albor of Miami, Fla.; a brother, William Auletto of Burlen, N.J. and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

MYRICK, Margaret
Entered into eternal rest, Margaret Hilson Myrick, 80, formerly of Albany, Ga., died Thursday, June 20, 2002 at a local hospital in Charleston. She was born in Charleston the daughter of the late William C. and Lina McCants Hilson. Mrs. Myrick attended Murray Vocational High School and retired from Bell South Corporation. She was married to the late Marion D. Myrick of Albany, Ga. Surviving are a brother, William C. Hilson; two sisters, Lina H. Phillips and Virginia H. Hinson all of Charleston; one niece, three nephews and a number of great-nieces and nephews. The friends and relatives are invited to attend her graveside services at Magnolia cemetery Monday, June 24, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Rd., Suite 504, North Charleston, S.C. 29406. ALEXANDER, Jr., Joseph
Colonel Joseph Paul Alexander, Jr., U.S.A. Ret. of Folly Beach died at his home on June 18, 2002. He was born December 7, 1916 in Laurens, S.C., the son of the late Paul and Willie Sexton Alexander.
Col. Alexander was a graduate of Wofford College, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity and the Blue Key leadership fraternity. He entered the U.S. Army soon after and served for over 32 years. He received numerous awards and commendations in a career that spanned all of World War II, both stateside and in Europe, as well as Korea and Vietnam. He was a Mason and a Shriner, and a member of the Charleston Kiwanis Club. He was first married to the late Ursula Gore Kessler and later married the late Jeanne Undereiner Hamilton in 1977. He is survived by one daughter, Ursula Layton of New York City, N.Y.; two sons, Joseph Paul Alexander, III of Fort Worth, Tex. and Jefferson Alexander of James Island, S.C.; two step-daughters, Martha Hamilton of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Andrea Kintree of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Paul IV, Noel, Max, Ben and Eve; two step-grandchildren, Anna and Michael; and a sister, Rosemary Todd of Columbia, S.C. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Unitarian Church Sanctuary on Archdale Street in Downtown Charleston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pet Helpers Adoption Center, 1430 Folly Road, James Island, S.C. 29412.
