Nancy D. Jolly
Union native

MOORE - Nancy Loretta Dedmon Jolly, 71, of 4370 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, died Nov. 12, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Jolly was a native of Union, a daughter of the late John C. and Etta Painter Dedmon. She was a charter member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church and was a retired homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, William J. Jolly of the home; a daughter, Pamela J. Lockhart of Inman; a sister, Sara Dedmon Caldwell of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Shanna Danielle Jolly of Inman and McKenzie Johnson Lockhart of Roebuck; and two special friends, Sue Waldrop of Moore and Laur Hawkins of Cowpens.

Mrs. Jolly was predeceased by four brothers, James Dedmon, William Dedmon, John Dedmon Jr. and Roosevelt Dedmon; and two sisters, Annie Belle Dedmon Horne and Mary Dedmon Bradley. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church by the Rev. Glenn Rusher.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Friday. The family is at the home of Robert and Pamela Lockhart, 711 Jordan Creek Road, Inman. Memorials may be made to Greenville Shriners Hospital, 950 West Paris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605-4277. Bobo Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Frances K. Taylor
Former A&P and Belk employee

JONESVILLE - Frances Kelly Taylor, age 84, wife of Harry Ray Taylor of 127 South Fork Road, Jonesville, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at 1:55 p. m. in Ellen Sagar Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mrs. Taylor was born in Kelly on Jan. 22, 1918, a daughter of the late Barth J. Kelly and Beatrice Faucett Kelly.

She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and a member of the Bonham Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was a former employee of the A&P Tea Co. and Belk.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 63 years are two daughters, Kaye T. House and her husband Don of Advance, N.C., and Sara T. LaFountain and her husband Keene of Columbia; grandchildren, Andy and Christine House, Jeff and Robin House, Leigh and Aaron Loftin, Amie House, Marc LaFountain, and Kevin LaFountain; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Cate House, Tate and Kailey House; a sister, Ferol K. Robinson of Flagler Beach, Fla., numerous sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by sisters, Mattie Kelly, Josie K. Ford, Margaret K. Whitaker and Faye K. Penland and a brother, Barth Kelly Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by the Reverend Scott Gilmer. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Andy House, Jeff House, Marc LaFountain, Kevin LaFountain, Don House and Keene LaFountain.

The following are asked to assemble at the church Friday at 1:45 p.m. to form the honorary escort: Members of the Ladies Sunday School Class and Warren and Florence Little, Bruce and Patsy Barnado and Joe and Donna Jenkins. The family is at the home, 127 South Fork Road, Jonesville, and will receive friends at the church Friday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, Union Office, 432 B. North Duncan By-Pass, Union, S.C. 29379 or to the Children's Playground Equipment Fund, New Hope United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Warren Little, 473 Bob Little Road, Jonesville, S.C. 29353. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Bobby Joe Wright
W.R. Grace Co. employee

CROSS ANCHOR - Bobby Joe Wright, 62, husband of Virginia Trammell Wright, of 464 Dillard Road, Cross Anchor Community, Enoree, died Nov. 13, 2002, at 2:02 a.m. in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Wright was born in Union on July 22, 1940, a son of the late Nathan W. and Neelie Hood Wright. He was a member of Padgett's Creek Baptist Church and was employed with W.R. Grace Co.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Bobby Eugene Wright and Nathan Stevie Wright Sr. both of Cross Anchor; two brothers, Frank Wright of Woodruff and Arthur R. Wright of Enoree; three grandchildren, Nathan Stevie Wright Jr., Joshua Steven Wright and Scott Jonathan Gullett.

Mr. Wright was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Sue Wright. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jerry McKee. Burial will be in the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Eugene Wright, Nathan Stevie Wright Sr., Nathan Stevie Wright Jr., Roger Wright, Richard Wright and Mike Wright. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7-9. The family is at the home of his son, Bobby E. Wright, 326 Dillard Road, Cross Anchor Community, Enoree. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

James R. Fullbright
Retired from U.S. Forest Service

James Robert Fullbright, 83, husband of Georgia Beulah Wright Fullbright of 488 Prospect Corner Road, died Nov. 14, 2002, after a sudden illness. Mr. Fullbright was born in Waynesville, N.C. on Aug. 26, 1919, a son of the late Hardy and Polly Hicks Fullbright.

He was a Baptist and was retired from the U.S. Forest Service. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Robert Daniel (Dan) Fullbright of Union, Frank Edgar Fullbright of Clyde, N.C.; and James Junior Fullbright of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Judy Ann Waddle of Woodruff; four sisters, Ailene Cathey, Louise Franklin, Hazel Fullbright and Carolyn McElroy all of Waynesville, N.C.; a brother, Floyd Fullbright of Clyde, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Fullbright Family Cemetery in the Rogers Cove Com-munity, Waynesville, N.C. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The body will remain at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the home, 488 Prospect Corner Rd., Union. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

James W. Hodges Jr.
Logger

CARLISLE - James Willie Hodges Jr., 70, of 1846 Santuc Drive, Carlisle, died at his home Nov. 11, 2002. A native of Newberry County, he was born Jan. 21, 1932, a son of the late James Willie and Ellen Hodges Sr. He attended Newberry County schools and was a logger for Dawkins Logging.

Surviving are a son, George William Hodges of Greensboro, N.C.; two step-sons, Marvin Jeter Jr. and Ronnie Jeter, both of Carlisle; a daughter, Rachel H. Cabell of Detroit, Mich.; four step-daughters, Annie B. Steel of Winston Salem, N.C.; Brenda Dawkins of Adamsburg, Joann Jeter of the home and Martha L. Johnson of Santuc; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Seekwell Baptist Church by the Rev. Timothy Taylor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be this evening at the home of Martha Jeter, 1846 Santuc Drive, Carlisle.

Public viewing will be at the Whitney Funeral Home until 7 p.m. today and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Saturday to await the hour of service. Whitney Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

David M. Lancaster

David Montana Lancaster, infant son of Jason Michael and Natasha Gosnell Lancaster, of 107 Francis Ave., died Nov. 13, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Surviving in addition to his parents are the paternal-grandparents, Tommy Michael and Jean Lancaster of Union; the maternal grandmother, Marla Ritch of Union; the paternal great-grandmother, Sadie L. Inman of Sharon; his paternal great-grandparents, the late T.B. and Annie Ruth Lancaster of Union; maternal aunt, Makayla Ritch of Union; the maternal great-grandmother, Mary Ann Crisp; maternal great-great-grandmother, Eva Stahr; the maternal great-great-grandfather, Paul Stahr; a maternal great-uncle, Kyle Crisp; a maternal great-aunt, Georgia Crisp all of North Carolina; a paternal uncle, Jamie Matthews of Union; paternal uncles and aunts, Dean and Mary Lancaster, Donnie and Lisa Lancaster all of Union; a paternal great-aunt and uncle, Judy and Darrell W. Massey of Inman; and a number of cousins.

Memorials may be made to the David Montana Lancaster Fund, PO Box 293, Union. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Nettie Gregory Welchel
Retired textile employee

GAFFNEY - Nettie Aline Gregory Welchel, 78, widow of Roy Welchel, of 222 Splawn Road, Gaffney, died Nov. 13, 2002 at the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. She was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mae Cudd Gregory of Union. She was a retired textile employee and a member of Skull Shoals Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Tommy Welchel, Wendell Welchel and Jimmy Welchel, all of Gaffney; two daughters, Shirley McAbee and Elaine Rogers, both of Gaffney; two brothers, Bobby Gregory and Harold Gene Gregory, both of Gaffney; four sisters, Gladys McAbee, and Bessie McCullough, both of Gaffney and Annie Inman and Sarah Brown, both of Union; six grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 until 8 tonight at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at Frederick Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. Saturday. The family is at the home, 222 Splawn Road, Gaffney. Memorials my be made to Skull Shoals Baptist Church, 460 Skull Shoals Road, Gaffney, 29349; Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, 29342 or to a charity of one's choice. Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
