Lucille B. Isgett

HARTSVILLE - Mrs. Lucille B. Isgett, age 90, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church by Pastor Jeff Williams, Rev. Homer Hinson and Rev. Jackie Hinson. The family received friends at the home from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2016.

Mrs. Isgett was born September 20, 1925 in Darlington County, SC a daughter of the late Henry and Jane Jones Barefoot. She was a homemaker and lifelong member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Isgett was a faithful member of the Senior Ladies Adult Sunday school class, and was the recipient of the Mother of the Year award presented by the church in 1990. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. Isgett; 5 brothers, J.C., Glenn, Herbert, June, and Tom Barefoot; 1 Sister, Ara Walters; 2 grandsons, Robert Clark, Jr. and John Isgett, Jr.; and 1 great granddaughter, Jessica Sanders.

Surviving are her children, Harvey Isgett of Hartsville, SC, James Isgett and wife Sara of Patrick, SC, John Isgett and wife Cindy, Richard Isgett and wife Julie, Paul Isgett and wife Valerie, David Isgett and wife Dana, Joe Isgett and wife Angel, Shirley Clark and husband Robert, Janie Huestess and husband Don all of Hartsville, SC, Sylbia “Sib” O’Neal and husband Harold of Patrick, SC, and Margaret Helen “Margie” Atkinson and husband Curtis of Brandon, MS.; her 27 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; her sister, Edna Lynch of Hartsville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Isgett to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, “Bus Fund” 1635 Cedar Creek Church Rd., Hartsville, SC 29550.

Michael Walker McManus

MT. CROGHAN - Master Michael Walker McManus, infant son of Jared and April Turner McManus, received his angel wings and was welcomed into heaven on Friday, July 8, 2016. He was greeted in heaven by his maternal grandfather, Michael Winfred “Hippie” Eubanks; maternal great grandfather, Bobby Hayes; and his paternal great grandfather, Jackie Pardue.

His memory will be cherished by his loving family that include parents, Jared Scott and April Turner McManus; his sisters, Emmalyn Taylor and Madalyn McManus; his big brother, Jaxson McManus; maternal grandparents, Randy and Jackie Allan of Mt. Croghan, SC; paternal grandmother, Virginia Pardue of Elgin, SC; maternal great grandmothers, Essie Hayes of Mt. Croghan, SC and Rachel Eubanks of Jefferson, SC; and his paternal great grandmother, Jean Pardue; also a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

The family will hold a private service and suggests memorials be made in Michael’s memory to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 212 Zoar Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Marie Hatcher Previtte

WALLACE - Marie Hatcher Previtte, 85, died Sunday, July 3, 2016. Born in Wallace, SC she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Frances Brigman Hatcher. She was a member of True Gospel Emanuel Holiness Church, Wallace, SC. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and cooking.

Surviving her is her husband, Glenn Previtte, sons, Gerald (Sylvia) Previtte, Ronnie Previtte, Charles Previtte, a brother, Rev. Jerry Hatcher, grandchildren, Stephanie Previtte, R.J. Previtte, step granddaughter Brittany Hatcher, great grandchildren, Angel Previtte and Hannah Previtte and step great-grandchild Braxton Waddell all of Wallace, SC.

The family received friend 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service was held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at True Gospel Emanuel Holiness Church, Wallace, SC.

Burial was in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wallace, SC.

Buddy Lee Quick

WALLACE - Mr. Buddy Lee Quick, 68, of Wallace, SC went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 4, 2016.

Mr. Quick was born in McColl, SC on July 3, 1948 to the late Rosell Quick and Anna Smith Quick. He later met and united in marriage to Paula Kay Haire. He loved fishing with his son and grandsons. He also loved spending time with his family, cooking and cutting up with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife "his saving grace", Paula Kay Quick of Wallace, SC, son, Ell Quick (Brooke Barrett-Quick) of Cheraw, SC, five grandchildren, Carlin Hubbard, Aidan Quick, Hayden Hubbard, Addison Quick, and Connor Quick all of Cheraw, SC, brother, Earl Quick of Mindorf, SC and a special niece, Phyllis Lane of McColl, SC.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Whites Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Hall and Pastor JC Linton officiating. The burial followed in the church cemetery.

The family received friends from 6:00—8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Whites Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Robyn Perry Motley Archie

CHERAW – Robyn Perry Motley Archie, 36, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Born in Patrick, SC, she was a daughter of the late Roger and Angela Carter Motley. She was a loving mother with a contagious smile. She enjoyed being around other people and spending time at the beach.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald “Jerry” Bridges of the home, her son, Derek Michael Motley of the home, a sister Sabrina Tucker of Emporia, Virginia, her loving step-father, Eugene Huckabee of Cheraw, SC a step-sister Gean Allison Maxwell of Chesterfield, SC, also, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above and a brother Roger Motley.

The family received friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home.

Vickie Bostic

Cheraw – Vickie Bostic, 52, died on Sunday June 19, 2016. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM from Robinson AME Zion Church, Cheraw, SC. Burial followed in the Word of Life Cemetery, Bennettsville, SC. She was born March 24, 1964 in Laurinburg, NC to Louise Smith and the late Ulysses Lyles Smith. Survivors: husband, James A. Bostic Jr.; two daughters, Shaunell Bostic, Charlotte, NC and Kadesha Bostic, Bennettsville, SC; three grandchildren, Shanice Bostic, Cheraw, SC, Kaiya Bethea, and Darius Bethea, both of Bennettsville, SC; mother, Louise Smith, Bennettsville, SC; a sister, Edith Burke, Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Lorenzo Smith Jr., Bennettsville, SC and James Lyles, High Point, NC. Flemming Funeral Home-Cheraw was in charge.

Bill Covington

DURHAM, N.C. – Bill Covington, 77, died on Monday, June 20, 2016. Funeral services were will held on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 2PM from the Oro United Methodist Church, Pageland, SC. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He was born on November 8, 1938 in Chesterfield, SC to the late John and Violet Rivers Covington. Survivors: a special niece, Marlene Drummond (Joseph) of Durham, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Flemming Funerals-Chesterfield was in charge. .

Thelma S. Clinkscales

WALLACE – Mrs. Thelma S. Clinkscales, age 86, died Saturday, July 2, 2016. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC by Pastor John L. Melton, III. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Clinkscales was born September 21, 1930 in Wallace, SC a daughter of the late James and Alma Hatcher Seals. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and a member of Wallace Baptist Church. Mrs. Clinkscales was a retired employee of Trans South Finance Company. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, William Thompson “Tom” Clinkscales, Sr.; 3 brothers, Billy Seals, USMC, James “Harry” Seals, Roger Seals; and 1 sister, Eleanor Rhea.

Surviving are her children, William T. “Tommy” Clinkscales, Jr. and wife Lisa of Wallace, SC, Martha Winsch and husband Larry of Rock Hill, SC, Timmy Clinkscales and wife Denise of Wallace, SC, Cindi Brigman and husband Charles, and Don Clinkscales all of Cheraw, SC; her 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; her brother, Henry Seals and wife Nell of Summerville, SC; and her nieces and nephews.

RUBY – Levoid Joines, 73, died on Friday, June 17, 2016. Services were held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 2 PM from the Rock Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Ruby, SC. Committal services were held in the church cemetery. He was born September 9, 1942 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Rev. William and Bessie Lucy Joines. Survivors: three sons; Anthony Joines, Wadesboro, NC, Ricky Joines (Lisa), Pageland, SC and Quincy Fair (Alisa), Abbeville, SC; a stepson, William Joines (Eunice), Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Tricia Ann Joines, Charlotte, NC; three brothers, James Perry Joines, Angelus, SC, Larry Joines, Cheraw, SC and David Joines (Wendy), Chesterfield, SC; eight sisters, Peggy Covington, Charlotte, NC, Doris Melton, Cheraw, SC, Lillie Wilson (Nathaniel), Cheraw, SC, Betty Hubbard (Fletcher), Mt. Croghan, SC, Carolyn Joines, Dianne Ross (Jimmy), Susan Joines and Jackie Wadsworth (Kenny) all of Charlotte, NC; twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Flemming Funerals- Chesterfield was in charge.

Debbie Faye Pope

CHERAW – Debbie Faye Pope, 57, died Friday, July 1, 2016. Born in Cheraw, SC she was a daughter of the late Charles Russell Howle, Sr. and Glenda Faye Davis Howle. She enjoyed going to the beach and collecting sea shells. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Her survivors include a son, Jason Treadaway of Cheraw, SC, a daughter, Glenda Elizabeth “Beth” Davis of Wallace, SC and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, a daughter, Angie Blackmon, a brother, Charles Howle and a sister, Judy Howle.

The family will receive friends 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A committal service will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.

Alfred Robinson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Alfred Robinson, 51, died on Monday, June 13, 2016. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2PM from the Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Pageland, SC. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He was born May 1, 1965 to the late Walter Lee and Lillie Viola Baker Robinson Sr. Survivors: five brothers; Hendrick Robinson, Franklin Robinson, Walter Robinson Jr., Colon Robinson, and Rodney Robinson all of Charlotte, NC; five sisters, Shirley Austin (Dunbar), Vivian Sowell, Pamela Wade (Tony) all of Charlotte, NC, Barbara Johnson (Jackie), Mint Hill, NC, and Cecelia Clark (Johnny), Monroe, NC. Flemming Funerals-Pageland was in charge. .

Ruth Ellen Sowell

MYRTLE BEACH – Ruth Ellen Sowell, 86, died Monday, June 27, 2016, she was born in Camden, AR. Mrs. Sowell was a member of First Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC. She was formerly a legal secretary and had retired from Davis & Davis Rentals as an office manager. In addition, she was an avid reader and a published author of several short stories. She also enjoyed cheering for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

She is survived by a son, Darrell (Sandra) Sowell of Cheraw, SC, a daughter, Robin (Layne) Holland of Myrtle Beach, SC, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Sowell of North Myrtle Beach, SC, a brother, William “Bill” Edwards of Fort Smith, Arkansas, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William Sowell.

The family received friends from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A memorial service was held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

Patricia Graham Dixon

CHERAW – Mrs. Patricia Graham Dixon, age 70, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Phoenix, AZ.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at First Southern Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 27, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dixon was born December 17, 1945 in Darlington County, SC a daughter of the late Lillie Reece King and Theodore Graham. She was a retired employee of Cheraw Yarn Mill with 27 years of service and a member of First Southern Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Patricia was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil W. Dixon; 1 daughter, Patsy Lynn Dixon; and 1 brother, Jean Graham.

Survivors include Daughters Saundra Nolan of Cheraw, SC, Jennie (Charles) Polson of Phoenix, AZ; Grandchildren: Chris (Dee) Dixon of Chesterfield, SC, Brandon Dawson of Palmdale, CA, Alissa Dawson of Tempe, AZ, Kendall Polson of Gilbert, AZ, Kevin Polson of Phoenix, AZ, and Kolby Polson of Phoenix, AZ; 3 Brothers: Jimmy (Lu Ann) Graham of Loris, SC, Lloyd Graham of Columbia, SC, and Hayward Graham whose location is unknown; Also her Furbaby: Sweet Pea, who became so much more than just her pet, she was therapy and kept her happier than any human could in her last weeks.

CHERAW – Mrs. Alieth Watson Bruner, age 91, died Friday, June 24, 2016.

A funeral service was held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC.

Mrs. Bruner was born, December 15, 1924, in Ruby, SC, a daughter of the late Lonnie Anderson Watson and Minerva Purvis Watson. She was a 1943 graduate of Ruby High School and a retired employee of INA USA with 25 years of service. Alieth was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for 65 years, and was a faithful servant through the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Alieth was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walter P. Bruner, her 3 brothers, Johnny Watson, L.A. Watson, and Wilbert Bruton, and by 2 sisters, Vinelle Hancock and Fraulien Sutton.

Survivors include 1 Son: Mike (Sandy Dawson) Bruner of Cheraw, SC; 2 Daughters: Patsy (Mike) Orr and Jo Anne (Tony) Tumasian, both of Cheraw, SC; 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Lucille W. Winecoff of Cheraw, SC; Niece and Sister of the heart: Ruby Keith of Cheraw, SC; Also Nieces and Nephews; and her Precious Cat, “Duchess.”

Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church “Cemetery Fund” c/o Ruby Keith, 305 Windsor Drive, Cheraw, SC 29520.
