Nicely, Reba F., age 89, passed away November 8, 2002 in Bryson City, N.C. She was a member of Wolfe Valley Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, John H. Nicely; father and mother, Anderson and Mary Garner; sisters: Ethel Humphrey, Aileen Elliott, Frieda Hamilton, Cumy Clark; half-sisters: Edna Dunlap, Teena Davis, Bessie Waddell; brothers: Fred Garner, Murk Garner, Patrick Garner; half-brother Joe Garner. Daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Clifford Cochran; daughter, Mildred Cheatham; son, B.A. Nicely; sons and daughters-in-law: John Jr. and Betty Nicely, Larry Wayne and Tracy Nicely; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Lois for her loving care. Funeral service Saturday, 8:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Clarence Sexton officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 PM Sunday at Berry Funeral Home and proceed to Mt. Olive Cemetery for a 3:00 PM interment service. Pallbearers will be Ben Nicely, Bart Nicely, James Nicely, Steve Cochran, Dennis Cochran, and Dana Cheatham. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Herbert O. ''Hoss'' Murrell

Herbert O. “Hoss” Murrell, age 73 of Seymour, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 6, 2002. Mr. Murrell was a member and inactive deacon of First Baptist Church, Seymour. He retired from the Aluminum Company of America – Tennessee Operations in 1992 after 39 years of service. Mr. Murrell served as chaplain of the United Steel Workers, Local 309. He was an original member of Company B 180th Infantry, 45th Infantry Divison (Korea). Mr. Murrell was preceded in death by parents Otha and Maggie Murrell; grandson Austin Taylor Nickle; niece Sherry Reagan; nephew Randy Banks; aunt Bonnie Lowe Survivors: Wife: Erma Branam Murrell Daughters: Patci Morris; Debbie Brown and husband Mike; Libby Nickle and husband Doug Grandchildren: Heather and Jeremiah Morris, Lauren and Evan Brown, Alison and Dustin Nickle Sister: Juanita Murrell Brother: Theron Murrell and wife Joan Nieces and nephews: Leslie Huntley, Leah Murrell, Eric Murrell, Margaret Moore, Clara Sue Hammontree, Mary Sowder, Sandy King, Greta Hammontree Funeral service 7 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Edgar Dowell Householder, age 77, of Seymour, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002. He was a Deacon and member of Knob Creek Baptist Church. He retired from ALCOA after 37 years of employment. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, W.O. Householder and Ina T. Householder, brothers, Earl, Leland, and Billie Joe, sisters, Lena Flatford and Faye Ott. Survivors: Wife: Neva R. Householder Son and daughter-in-law: Eddie and Miranda Householder Grandson: Will Householder Sisters: Marjorie Brewer, and Lois Hickman Brother and sister-in-law: Harold and Mildred Householder Several nieces and nephews Funeral service 7 PM Friday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with the Rev. Rayho, Sr. Sisters and Brothers-in-law: Dee and Kim McCroskey of Kodak, Melanie and Buddy Maner of Nashville Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Kirk and Maryann Rayho, Ron and Patti Rayho, Kenny and Gena Rayho all of Knoxville Nephews and Nieces: Travis, Tiffany, and Seth McCroskey, Jacob Maner, Carlos, Francisca, Haley, Dylan, Sydney, and MaKenna Rayho Joe’s loving and special friends from Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and overseas. Funeral service 8 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Kim McCroskey officiating. Family and friends will meet 2 PM Sunday at Beech Springs Cemetery for interment. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Frankie Temple Cutshaw

Frankie Temple Cutshaw, age 76 of Sevierville, died Monday, November 4, 2002 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Marietta, Georgia. Frankie, the first child of John Ellis and Effie Benson Temple, was born September 3, 1926 in Oak City, Tennessee (Sevier County). She moved with the family to Sevierville in October 1934 and lived there until November 1998 when she moved to Atlanta to reside near her children. Frankie graduated from Sevier County High School in 1944 and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1948. She married H.A. Cutshaw, Jr. in 1948. During her University of Tennessee years, Frankie was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. After graduation she was secretary/treasurer of Temple Milling Company from 1948- 1993 and helped the family develop and operate the family business. She was a teacher at Sevier County High School 1952-1953. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Sevierville, where she served as director of the two year old nursery department for many years. She was active in PTA of Sevierville Elementary School, serving as President and was State Secretary of PTA. She was Past Matron of Sevier Chapter # 138 Order of the Eastern Star. She helped organize and was the first President of the Sevier County University of Tennessee Alumni Association. She was a member of the Tuesday Evening Music Club and GFWC of Tennessee Manthano Club. Frankie was the organizer of the first Teen Board in Sevier County in 1961 and served as an advisor until 1993. She served the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce many years as a director and treasurer. She was preceded in death by husband H.A. Cutshaw, Jr., parents John and Effie Temple, brother-in-law Russell Hughes, niece Jane Elizabeth Temple, grandnephew John Russell Hughes. Survivors: Daughter and Son-in-law: Janelle (Cutshaw) and Art Nevins Son and Daughter-in-law: Kenneth Andrew and De Grandchildren: Preston Arthur Nevins and wife Dallas, Whitney Janelle Nevins, Kenneth Andrew Cutshaw, Jr., Christina Le Cutshaw, Susanne Marie Cutshaw Sisters: Patsy Temple Waters and husband Johnny, Mary Joyce Temple Hughes Brother: James Albert (Jimmie) Temple and wife, Marie Nieces and nephews: John B. Waters, III and wife Beth, Cyndy Waters Moseti and husband Shem, James A. Temple, Jr. and wife Marty, Amy Hughes Huskins, Matthew R. Hughes and wife Mary Grand nieces and nephews: Spencer and Alexander Waters, Andrew Temple, Muteyi and Judy Moseti, Emily Huskins, Molly and Connor Hughes Funeral service 7:30 PM Friday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. David Sharp and Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating. Eulogies will be delivered by Lyle Overbay and Kenneth A. Cutshaw. Interment 10 AM Saturday in Shiloh Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Preston Nevins, John B. Waters, III, James Temple, Matt Hughes, Shem Moseti, and Rob Delozier. Honorary pallbearers include: Glen Carr, Robert Davis, Doug Griffith, Richard Isenberg, Amos Marshall, Jim Ogle, Lyle Overbay, Ron Rader, Jim Cox, John Kennedy. Jimmy Lee Metts

Metts, Jimmy Lee, age 65, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, November 4, 2002. He was a member of the Teamsters Union for 36 years and served as business agent for Teamster Local 519. Member of New Fellowship Baptist Church for 10 years and member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Preceded in death by wife of 40 years, Anna Belle Metts; and father, Jim Metts. Daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Roger Cunningham; precious granddaughter, "his little honey" Ashton Gourley; grandchildren: Jenifer Harper and husband, Arnie; Summer Neubert and husband, Johnny; great-grandchildren: Tristan and Jake Harper; Ty Neubert; mother and step-father, Eunice and Howard Fortenberry; mother-in-law, Lucille Cox; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Shirley Metts; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Keefer; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Clara Metts; brother, Raymond Metts; several nieces and nephews; loving dog Patches; a host of loving and close friends. A celebration of life service will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Berry Chapel, with Rev. Dino Bray officiating.
