Richard Dean Duff
Richard Dean Duff, age 75, of Springville, Tenn., died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.
He retired from US Marines after 20 plus years. He received the Pistol Expert Badge; Rifle Expert Badge; National Defense Service Metal; Vietnam Campaign Metal; Combat Action Ribbon; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry; Vietnam Service Metal; Meritorious Unit Commendation while in the service. He also worked as a self employed small business owner for several years. Richard enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Amvets, MOAA-Military Officers Association of America.
He was the son of the late Thomas Charles Fay Duff and the late Shirley Mae Nicodemus Shavr.
He is survived by his Two Daughters, Ashley (Jason) Langley of Buchanan, Tenn., Tami (Brian) Bent of California; Two Sons, Rod Duff of Chicago, Ill., Richie (Brandi) Kretzschmar of Springville, Tenn.
Two Sisters, Sharon Ray of Oregon, Shirley Faye Sforza of California; One Brother, Tom Duff of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 2 great Grandchildren.
Richard was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Sherril Duff and Ronald Gene Duff.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, Tenn.
He is to be cremated.
No services are planned.

Jerry Allen Register
Jerry Allen Register, age 61, of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at his residence in Paris, TN. He formerly worked at Emerson Electric Co, Tosh Farms & Replogle. He also enjoyed watching football and was a big Henry County Patriot fan.
He was a son of the late Johnny Edgar Register and the late Quincie Parrish Register.
He is survived by, One Brother, John (Dianne) Register of Hendersonville, TN; Nephews, Jay and Zack Register; 3 great nieces, Carlee, Campbell, and Chloe Register; and a cousin, Donnie (Tammy) Wood of Puryear, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 1:30 – 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2013.
Chad Kennedy is officiating.
Interment will be at Bevil cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

Larry Dan "L.D." Thompson
Larry Dan “L.D.” Thompson, age 64, of Puryear, TN, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.
He was married February 15, 1969 to Robbie Nell Lindsey Thompson & she survives. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and formerly worked 13 years at Markel Lighting Co. in Paris, TN. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. L.D. also loved selling produce and was an avid fisherman.
He was born December 6, 1948, the son of the late Clifford William Thompson and the late Edith Faye Burnette Thompson.
He is also survived by his three daughters-Tressa Prince & special friend Eddie Gaskin of Springville, TN, Amanda Thompson of Puryear, TN, Kristi Thompson & special friend Alvie Milliken of Puryear, TN, One Sister, Betty Jean Paschall of Paducah, KY, One Brother, Dale Thompson of Paris, TN; Grandchildren, Michael Prince, David Grant McManis, Cody Prince, Heather Ratliff, Lindsey Ratliff and Hailey Thompson; 4 Great Grandchildren, Hunter Prince, Christian Younger, Miley Prince and Hannah Prince.
L.D. was also preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Gail Skinner in 2013 and a grandson Scott Daniel Hawks.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, TN, where visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Thursday, December 5, 2013 and after 11am until the service at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2013
Micheal Barnhart & Chad Kennedy will officiate.
Interment will be at Birds Creek cemetery in Paris, Tenn

Micheal Dean "Mike" Gray
Michael Dean “Mike” Gray, age 51, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Paris, TN died Friday, November 15, 2013 in Florida.
He served in National Guard some before serving 20 years in the US Navy and retired as a First Class Petty Officer. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Palm Beach, FL. He enjoyed playing football and baseball at a younger age. He formerly worked as a Breath Tech for the Virginia Beach Police Dept. from 1993- 1999.
He was the son of Kenneth Gray of Paris, TN and the late Joyce Turner Gray.
He is also survived by his daughter-Lacey (Brandon) Weaver of Nashville, TN; brother-Tracy (Debbie) Gray of Paris, TN; grandchild, Kaden Daniel Weaver; aunt, Patricia (Jerry) Norton of Buchanan, TN; cousins, Tonya Singleton of Paris, TN and Tony Norton of Jackson, TN; nieces, Candi (Gervis) Gallimore of Paris, TN, Riley Gray of Paris, TN; nephew, Ross Gray of Paris, TN; and a great nephew, Kaine Gallimore of Paris, TN.
He was cremated in Florida. Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN where visitation will be from 1 - 3 PM Sunday, December 8, 2013 with a memorial service at Ridgeway Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2013.

Patricia "Patti" Myers
Patricia “Patti” Myers, age 65, of Paris, TN, died Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Vanderbilt Univ. Med. Center in Nashville, TN.
Born February 9, 1948 in Martin, TN, she was a retired secretary from Birds Creek Baptist Church and current member of Birds Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed all types of music and playing her guitar.
She is survived by her parents, Glen and Lena Ellis Morgan of Paris, TN; son, Todd Myers of Ypsilanti, MI; Sister-Debbie (Rickey) Moon of Paris, TN; Brother-Jerry (Donna) Ellis of Paris, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Patti was preceded in death by Grandparents, Price and Lunette Ellis, Ben and Ethel Morgan and Judy Morgan.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, where visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2013 and after 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2013 until the Funeral Service at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
Craig Peevyhouse & Claude Miller Prince will officiate.
Pallbearers will by Dani Cox, Ed Ellis, Donnie Stewart, Caleb Grissom, Ted Inman, and Jim Morgan.
Interment will be at Birds Creek cemetery in Paris, TN.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Charlie E. Nored
Charlie E. Nored, age 81 of Paris, died Monday December 2, 2013 at Henry County Medical Center.
Rawls Funeral home is handling the arrangements and they are incomplete at this time.

Mary R. Sloan
Mary R. Sloan, age 82 of Paris, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Henry County Medical Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm and after 9am on Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10am on Thursday with entombment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Clarenece Jones and Zella Pennington Jones two brothers Alva Lee Jones and Calvin Earl Jones, and her husband Robert Stanley Sloan.
She is survived three daughters and three grandchildren.

James T. "Terry" Burton
James T. "Terry" Burton, age 70 of Puryear, Tenn., died Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at Murray - Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky.
Burton was a former employee of the Puryear Brick Plant as well as the Metropolitan Insurance Company. He was a longtime member of Puryear Baptist Church.
Burton is preceded in death by his father J.T. Burton and a grandson, James Thomas McCord.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Tommie Valentine Burton, his mother Virginia Wright Burton, his sister Jan (Johnny) Brown of Paris, daughter Tina Burton McCord of Mount Juliet, Tenn., son Jeffery Lee Burton of Puryear, Tenn., one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Burton is to be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. McEvoy Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

George O. Gierhart
George Gierhart, age 76 of Paris, died Friday, November 29th, 2013 at Henry County Medical Center.
Gierhart retired from Dana Companies in Paris where he worked as an over-the-road truck driver; he was also a former dairy farmer.
Gierhart was a member of Central Point Baptist Church; he was an avid fisherman and woodcrafter and collected knives and guns.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Coffman and Dorothy Baughman McConnell.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kelly (Michael) Throgmorton of Big Sandy, Tenn., and Richar (Ray) Summers of Paris; two sons, Greg (Lillian) Gierhart of Murray, Ky., and Scott (Gina) Gierhart of McKenzie, Tenn.; two brothers, Bruce (Dawn) Gierhart of Ashland, Ohio, and Steve (Ruth) Coffman of Kent, Ohio; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as special friend Patricia Johnson.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, from 3 to 6 PM and Monday, December 2, beginning at 11 AM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 2 at 2 PM in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Henry County Angels, P.O. Box 1505, Paris, TN 38242.

Gladys E. Bell
Gladys Bell, age 92 of Henry, Tenn., died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her daughter's residence.
Bell was the co-owner and operator of Bell's Store in Henry for several years. She was a homemaker and a member of Henry Church of Christ.
Bell is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edwin Ellis Bell, who died April 10, 1997.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Lena B. Wallace Tuck, and four sisters, Dorthy Pereida, Faye Ellis, Catheryn Nanney, and Sarah Tuck.
Bell is survived by two sisters, Jlene Sills of Michigan and Evelyn Brockwell of Paris, as well as Bell's daughter Brenda (Jackie) Scott of Hollow Rock, Tenn., two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30 beginning at 11 AM.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, November 30 at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow in Henry Cemetery.
