Billie Evans
Billie Jean Killebrew Evans, age 85 of Springville, Tenn., died Friday, June 11 at her residence.
Evans was a member of Springville Church of Christ. She was retired from the United States Postal Service where she served as the postmaster of Springville for 25 years. She loved working in her flowers, reading, and helping her neighbors. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and listening to all kinds of music.
Evans was born April 11, 1929 to the late Charles Killebrew and Mildred Evans. She was married September 2, 1950 to Paul Evans, who preceded her in death February 13, 2014.
She leaves four children: Mitchell (Linda) Evans of Cottage Grove, Peggy (Tony) Nance of Puryear, Doug (Cathy) Evans of Springville, and Ricky Evans of Paris; her grandchildren: Amanda (Jody) Browning, Brandon Evans, Chris (Gail) Evans, Ashley Evans, Ethan Evans, Johnny (Misty) Henderson, David (Elyse) Henderson and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother: Richard (Ann) Killebrew of Humboldt; a sister-in-law: Lottie Wilson of Lebanon; a brother-in-law: Henry Evans of Springville; cousins: Betty Whittle, Beverly Dunlap, and John Killebrew; and special caregivers: Margaret Mitchell, Kim Howell and Debbie Bowden.
She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons: Greg Evans and Jason Evans and a daughter-in-law: Sherry Smith Evans.
Visitation for Evans will be held Sunday, June 13 from 1 to 3 PM at Springville Church of Christ with funeral services to be held at 3 PM at Springville Church of Christ. Anglin Funeral Home in Dover has handled the arrangements.
Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Poplar Grove cemetery Trust Fund P.O. Box 835 Paris, TN 38242, Hoof Beats of Hope 855 Osage Crossland Road Puryear, TN 38251 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jeff Hamlin
Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Hamlin, age 49, of Henry, Tenn., died Thursday, July 10.
Jeff married Kathleen Bell Hamlin on May 5, 1990; she survives.
Hamlin worked over 25 years at the Paris Fire Department and was currently the Assistant Fire Chief. He was also the Owner & Operator of Hamlin Construction for over 20 years. Jeff enjoyed golf and fishing as well as rabbit and turkey hunting.
He was born December 26, 1964 in Paris, TN to Lee Roy and Linda Sue Ford Hamlin, of Henry, TN
Besides his wife and parents, Jeff is also survived by his daughter, Katelyn Hamlin of Henry, Tenn; son, Ryan (Mandy) Hamlin of Paris, Tenn; brother, Kevin Hamlin of Paris, Tenn; grandchildren, Ellie Grace Hamlin and Emma Kate Hamlin; niece, Emily Hamlin; In-Laws, Jerry (Carol) Bell, Sr. of Paris, TN; and many other extended family and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Trey Hamlin, October 29, 1992.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 3 – 8 pm Saturday, July 12.
Visitation will continue on Sunday from 12 – 2 pm at the Paris Convention Center with the Funeral service at Paris Convention Center at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 13.
Pallbearers will be members of the Paris Fire Department.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all other Paris Fire Department members and members of the Paris Country Club.
Interment will be at Bethlehem cemetery in Henry, Tenn.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Terry Tanner
Terry Glenn Tanner, 53, of Buchanan died Wednesday July 9th in New Concord, Ky.
He served six years in the army as an infantry soldier and was stationed in Germany. He worked for the port authority as well.
Public visitation will be Saturday July 12th 10am to 1pm at McEvoy Funeral home.

Calvin Cales
Calvin F. Cales, age 89 of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, July 3 at his residence.
Cales was a WWII veteran who served in Europe with the 36th Infantry division. He was awarded the combat infantry badge, a bronze star and a purple heart. He also served during the Korean War.
Cales was a member of Paris Masonic Lodge #108, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite.
Cales is preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Rosetta Cales, his first wife of 57 years, Betty Rose Gaskins Cales, and his brother Olen "Yank" Cales.
He is survived by his second wife, Frances Carroll Cales; his sister Tootie (Bill) McGraw of Birmingham, Ala.; sons Joseph (Marcia) Cales of Fairland, Ind., and David (Joy) Cales of Springville, Tenn.; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 6 from 12 to 2 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home with funeral services at 2 PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

John Brewer
John Robert Brewer, age 66, of Paris, Tenn., died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.
He was married to Susan E. Gleghorn Brewer and she preceded in death August 12, 1975. John was a US Army Vietnam veteran and a member of VFW 1889, American Legion 89, and Local DAV. He had been an Iron worker and member of local 63 Iron workers Union in Broadview, IL.
He was born March 31, 1948 in Camden, TN to the late Luther E. Brewer and the late Wilma C. Hollingsworth Brewer.
He is survived by his Two Daughters, Kimberly L. Brewer of Paris, Tenn, Kelly L. (Tim) Steward of Murray, Ky; One Son-Jonathon R. Brewer of Paris, Tenn; Two Step-Sons, Tim Williams of Springville, Tenn, Mark Williams of Springville, Tenn; One Sister, Betty J. (W.C.) Phifer of Big Sandy, Tenn; Two Brothers, Michael W. (Pat) Brewer of Big Sandy, Tenn, Terry W. (Trish) Brewer of Big Sandy, Tenn; Grandchildren, Clay Phifer, Maddie Steward, Logan Williams, Brenton Brewer, Haeley Brewer, and Tucker Williams; and Friend and Caregiver, Annetta F. Brewer of Paris, TN.
Besides his wife and parents, John was also preceded in death by two brothers, Burke Brewer and Billy Brewer.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.
John will be cremated with a Graveside Memorial Service at Ramble Creek cemetery near Big Sandy, TN at 10:00 am Saturday, July 12, 2014.
Chad Kennedy will officiate.

Phillip Presson
Philip Presson, age 79, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.
He was married July 12, 1955 to Shirley Roberts Presson and she preceded in death September 28, 2012.
Philip retired after 24 years as a Tech Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He was them Employed at Henry Co. Medical Center as a maintenance and operation assistant. He Loved fishing, wood working and gardening.
He was born October 2, 1934 in Manleyville, TN to the late Orby Henry Presson and the late Blanche Lucille Hastings Presson.
He is survived by his Three Daughters, Deborah (Dale) Casterline of Paris, Tenn, Lorrie Kall of Paris, Tenn, Shelia Ross of Paris, Tenn, Two Sons, Randal (Heather) Presson of Paris, Tenn, Danny (Laura) Presson of Paris, Tenn; Grandchildren, Jennifer Elliott, Sara Dyson, Lauren Presson, Phillip Casterline, Jarred Presson, Racheal Presson; Great Grandchildren, Chase Craig, Alexandria “Allie” Elliott, and Gracie Elliott.
Besides his wife and parents, Philip was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Presson and David Presson; brother, William Presson; Grandchildren, Jacqueline Rich, Kevin Graham, David Randal Presson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Tuesday, July 1, 2014 and after 9 am Wednesday, July 2, 2014. The Funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
Glynn Orr will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jarred Presson, Phillip Casterline, Isaac Dyson, Andrew Elliott, Chase Craig, Dylan Sanders, Mike Swanner, and Jerry Pounds.
Interment will be at Boothe cemetery off Old Union Loop in Paris, Tenn.

Bill Edlin
Bill Edlin, age 60, of Bristow, Oklahoma died Sunday June 29th at the Henry County Medical Center. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Betty Carr Moody
Betty Carr Moody, age 88 of Paris, died Sunday June 29th at her home. She is the wife of Elliott Eddisson "Eddie" Moody, who passed away in 2013.
Betty was born October 30, 1925, in Murray, KY, to Addie (Clark) and Willie B. Carr. She was the youngest of four children: two brothers, Solan (Dean) Carr, Louis (Sue) Carr, and one sister, Phala (Chester) Sturdivant, all who preceded her in death. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving and caring person whose pride and joy were her three sons and their families. The oldest son, William “Bill, ” and wife, Linda, are parents of Candise (Rusty) Farmer and Jon Paul (Erin) Moody. Jon Paul and Erin are parents of Carter and Blair Moody. Middle son, Harry “Tommy”, and wife, Paulette, are parents of Ginger (Keith) Forrester and Carrye (Phillip) Jackson. Ginger and Keith have two sons, Maconnell and Grey. Carrye and Phillip are parents of Luke and Reed. Betty and Eddie’s youngest son is Richard “Rick” (Missy), who has three children, Madison, MaKenzie, and Gavin Moody.
Betty was a very active, vibrant lady who loved her community and country. She was always seen supporting her husband and family at ball games, public gatherings, and banquets. She opened her heart and arms to everyone, especially the compassionate staff of Moody Realty Company, which her late husband Eddie founded in 1956. She was blessed with many loyal friends who visited and encouraged her during her latter days of home confinement. She was also blessed with a supportive group of caregivers whose love and concern will always be remembered and appreciated.
Betty loved the Lord and was an active member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church until failing health prevented her from attending. Pastor Mitch Fiscus and grandson Jon Paul Moody will be conducting services on Wednesday, July 2, at 11 A.M. at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at McEvoy Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 1, between the hours of 4:00-8:00 P.M.. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Rusty Farmer, Keith Forrester, Phillip Jackson, Bob Cathey, Mike Carr, and Randall Griggs. Honorary pallbearers are the agents and staff of Moody Realty Company.

Neely Lemonds
Neely McGehee Lemonds, age 90, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her residence in Paris, Tenn.
Neely married Elbert Lee Lemonds May 18, 1940 and he preceded in death May 11, 2000. She was a member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ and she formerly worked at the Clippard Plant and Markel Lighting.
She was born December 15, 1923 in Gleason, TN to the late William Henry McGehee and the late Monia Poole McGehee.
She is survived by her One Son, Thomas E. (Phyllis) Lemonds of Paris, Tenn; Daughter-in-law-Betty Lemonds of Decherd, Tenn; Grandchildren, Monya (Ed) Burrell, Will Lemonds, Jeremy (Andrea) Lemonds, Stacy (Wesley) Gamble, Ganiel (Mandy) Lemonds; and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Neely was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis L. Lemonds; sisters, Myra McGehee and Marie Snider.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Monday, June 30, 2014 and after 9 am Tuesday, July 1, 2014. The Funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 1, 2014
John W. Dale will officiate.
Interment will be at Hopewell cemetery in Gleason, Tenn.
