Mona Juanell Price McBride ODESSA — Mona Juanell Price McBride, 55 years of age, passed away Dec. 14, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born on June 1, 1947, in Artesia, N.M., to E.M. and Juanita Price. She is survived by her mother, Juanita Price of Odessa, father, E.M. Price of Mineral Wells; brothers, Gary Allen Price and Ron Price, both of Odessa; niece, Deborah Lynne Guildoo of Houston; and other family members. Graveside services have been set for 2 p.m. Monday Dec. 16, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services by Odessa Funeral Home. Myrtle May Gaile ODESSA — Myrtle May Gaile, age 80, passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born in Stamford Oct. 10, 1922, to Austin Armstrong Griggs and Ethel Myrtle Dancer, and later moved to Odessa in 1939. She graduated from Odessa High School and her religious affiliation is Baptist. Her husband, Jack Gaile; her parents, Ethel and Austin Griggs; her brother, Walter Griggs; and a son-in-law, Mark Mathis, precede her in death. Myrtle is survived by her sons, Rudy Janosik and wife, Wanda, of DeKalb, Steve Janosik and wife, Mary, of San Antonio, Johnny Janosik and wife, Patricia, of Odessa, and Joe Janosik Jr. of Odessa; her daughters, Pauline Sutton and husband, Bill, of Odessa, Ann Mathis of Leander and Helen Simpson and husband, Mike, of DeKalb; her sister, Florence Webb of Midland; a sisters-in-law, Mary Griggs of Conroe and Valera Shaw of Corsicana; a step-daughter, Sharon Gaile of South Dakota; 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Emmitt Barnard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Lois Hoskins WINK — Lois Stringer Hoskins, 92, passed away and was lifted by the wings of angels to our Lord above Monday, Dec. 16, 2002. Visitation for Lois Hoskins will be Friday, Dec. 20, in Monahans at Heritage Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 21, 2002, at the Wink First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Redwine officiating. Burial will be at the Kermit cemetery under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home. She was born May 6, 1910, in Tipton, Okla., to John Stringer and Minnie Sutton. She married Charlie P. Hoskins April 17, 1926, in Lawton, Okla. In 1927, they moved to Wink. They owned and operated several businesses in Wink including Charlies Recreation Hall, Phillips 66 Service Station and The Justice Hotel. Lois also worked for several years in Kermit at Winklers Department Store. She was particularly proud of her lifetime membership to the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. No. 6248 in Kermit. Charlie preceded her in death in 1974. She then moved to Monahans to be with her son Bud Hoskins and sister Gladys Gigoux. Lois was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, her sisters and brothers, her son Bud Hoskins, and her granddaughter Debra Kay Hoskins. Survivors include her two sons, Donald Hoskins of San Antonio and Jerold Hoskins of Willis; grandchildren, Leslie Barnes of Midland, Diana Hoskins of Willis, Royce Hoskins of Roswell, N.M., Mike Hoskins of Hawaii, Clifford Hoskins of Fort Worth, Brad Hoskins of Victoria, Becky Houser of Cyprus, Van Hoskins of Lake Texacoma, Stacey Hoskins of Fairfield and Didi Hoskins of Corsicana; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Abila and Joe Gallander. The family is especially thankful to Complete Home Health in Midland for their dedication and care; Dr. Shylesh Ganta and his staff for their compassionate care of the elderly; and Hospice House of Odessa for providing such a comforting home during her last days. For many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lois was and always will remain Mammy. She will always be loved, never forgotten and always cherished. John W. Pyfer Jr. ODESSA — John W. Pyfer Jr., 79, of Odessa went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 15, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pa., to John W. and Dorothy Pyfer. He married Juanita Davisson Aug. 9, 1997, in Odessa. Mr. Pyfer was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He moved to Odessa in 1950. He taught little church and R.A.’s at Belmont Baptist for 20 years. He was a deacon for Belmont Baptist Church and cook for the men’s prayer breakfast at Belmont for 10 years. He was head of the church bus ministry for many years. He was a little league coach for many years and was involved in the Apartment Ministry in Mission Odessa and a builder for Campers on Mission for the past four years. He built model railroads and enjoyed fishing. He had worked for Lawrence Robert’s Hardware. Wooley Tool and was past owner of Texas Reamer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Billie Pyfer in 1994, and two sisters, Dorothy Ferrante and Anna Dragone. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Pyfer of Odessa; son, Wes Pyfer and wife Carol of Irving; step-son, Charlie Whittington of Melissa; step-daughters, Theresa Westfall and Kay Young, both of Lubbock, and Sue Reed of Amarillo; brother, Frank Pyfer of Philadelphia, Pa.; sisters, Alice Gibson of Odessa and Florence Birch of Warminster, Pa.; 12 grandchildren including Darren Pyfer and Dana Polk; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Young officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Circle Six Baptist Encampment, Stanton, Texas. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Dora Esparza Ramirez CRANE — Dora Esparza Ramirez, 55, of McCamey died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in the McCamey Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2002, at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane with the Rev. Duane Gryder officiating. Burial will follow at Crane County cemetery with services under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. Mrs. Ramirez was born April 22, 1947, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Ciriaco and Timotea Esparza. She married Lupe Ramirez August 19, 1967, in Imperial. She attended school and graduated from Buena Vista High School in Imperial in 1966. At the time of her death she was employed by the McCamey Independent School District where she was a secretary at the middle school. She loved her job and was devoted to not only her fellow workers, but to the parents and students. Dora was a loving and giving person who could not do enough for others. Sharing gifts with others brought great joy to her life. Dora was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in McCamey. She was preceded in death by her father, Ciriaco Esparza and a brother, Pablo Esparza. She is survived by her loving husband, Lupe Ramirez of McCamey; two sons, Christopher Ramirez and his wife, Andra, of San Antonio and Jay Ramirez and his wife, Laura, of Odessa; her mother, Timotea Esparza of Imperial; brothers, Arturo Esparza of Fort Stockton, Apolonio Esparza and Jimmy Esparza, both of Odessa, and Freddie Esparza of El Paso; sisters, Aurelia Montoya of Imperial, Socorro Mejia of Wildomar, Cal., Emma Bernard of Midland and Esperanza Esparza of Odessa; and three grandchildren, Selena Ramirez, Alexis Ramirez and Marissa Ramirez, all of Odessa. Virginia Boyett Reed MONAHANS — Services for Virginia Boyett Reed of Monahans are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Southside Baptist Church of Monahans with Pastor Craig Roton officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastland cemetery, Eastland, Texas. Virginia died Dec. 20, 2002, at her home in Monahans. She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Eastland to Charles and Alice Shepperd. She was the ninth of ten children to be born. She lived her childhood years in Eastland. She made a profession of faith and was baptized into the First Baptist Church of Eastland in 1942. She married Wilbourn Boyett of Cisco in September, 1942. Their first child, Catherine, was born in Eastland. They moved to Ward County and had a son, Richard, and a daughter, Ruth. Virginia married Carlton Reed in December, 1984. She has been a resident of Ward County for 57 years. Virginia was active in Immanuel Baptist of Monahans, Royalty Baptist Church of Royalty and Southside Baptist Church of Monahans. She worked in Mental Health in Monahans from 1970 to 1986. Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Many called her their friend. The Monahans Senior Citizens was a wonderful part of her life, and she loved her church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Dennis Hair of Hobbs, N.M.; grandchildren, Robin Acosta of Eunice, N.M., Cindy Kennedy of Odessa, Scotty Boyett of Odessa, Shawna Ornelas of Monahans, Steven Boyett of Monahans, Dennise Hoetzclaw of Midland, Kevin Hair of Austin and Randy Hair of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Rodney and Deandra Acosta of Eunice, N.M., Haylie and Hayden Ornelas of Monahans, and Courtney Hoetzclaw of Midland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Wilbourn Boyett and Carlton Reed, a son, Richard Boyett, and a daughter, Catherine Bivins, her parents, seven sisters and two brothers. David Frank Firebaugh Sr. ODESSA — David Frank Firebaugh Sr., 66, of Krum, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, in Denton. He was born July 25, 1936, in Hutchinson, Kan. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He graduated from Odessa High School, Odessa College and Sul Ross. He was passionate about geology and poetry. He discovered a meteor crater around Cameron and Rosebud, Texas. He was owner of Four Corners Minerals Co. He was a friend to anyone he met. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Firebaugh, parents, Frank and Vera Firebaugh, son, Gary D. Firebaugh, and beloved sister, Brenda F. Little. He is survived by his son, David Frank Firebaugh Jr. of Krum; daughters, De’Adre Walker of Decatur and Sarah Elizabeth Firebaugh of Kentucky; brothers, Stan Firebaugh of Carrollton and Jerry Firebaugh of Del Rio; sisters, Nancy Arthur of Robert Lee and Carolyn Brooks of Del Rio; two grandchildren, Sierra Diane Walker and David Frank Firebaugh III. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Dennis ‘Bud’ Dudley ODESSA — Dennis “Bud” Dudley, age 72, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Hospice House. He was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Richmond, Va. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 10 in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord with Pastor Emeritus James Otterness and Pastor Chris Conner officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Bud was raised in Richmond, Va. He married Phyllis on Dec. 5, 1953. He was employed by the Nevada Atomic Commission Facility in Las Vegas, Nev., then was the owner/operator of Radiator Service & Supply. He also owned and operated Heat Exchanger, Inc., and was then employed by Hannover Companies. He was a past president of Lions Club and was a Masonic brother of Andy G. Vaughn Lodge, Shrine and Jestor El Paso Division. Bud was a member of Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord and was led to God by 30-year-old guide and special friend, pastor James Otterness. Bud, a man of integrity, was famous for expressing what you needed to hear instead of what you wanted to hear; a quality for which family, friends and employees loved him. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverley Dudley. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Odessa; daughter, Deborah Dudley of Odessa; son, Dennis Dudley of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Mae Leverett and husband Calvin of Bowie, brother, Bill Dudley of Bowie; grandchild, Lanell Simmons of Odessa; and great-grandchildren; Kristin and Erica Simmons of Odessa. Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Patsy Jean Jackson ODESSA — Patsy Jean Jackson, 55, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born on Jan. 26, 1947, in Lamesa, Texas, to John L. Stephens and Katie Sanford. She attended public school in Ector County. She was a member of Walker’s Chapel Church of God in Christ. Viewing will be today and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Chapa Funeral Home Chapel, 1050 S. Dixie Blvd. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Walker’s Chapel Church of God in Christ with Elder James Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother and a brother. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Earnest J. Jackson of Odessa; sons, Rickey Renee Jackson of Sunrise, Fla., and Earnest James Jackson Jr. of Colorado City; daughter, Lorriane Jackson of Odessa; brother, Joe Floyd Stephens of Odessa; sisters, Juanita Perkins, Elnora Pigg and Betty Stephens, all of Odessa; and five grandchildren.
