ODESSA — Gilly Meredith Woodruff, 76, of Odessa, a 20-year employee of Odessa Spring & Axle, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at the Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Alvin Wilson officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Levelland. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Delma Woodruff of Odessa; son, George Stallings of Holiday Island, Ark.; daughter, Pauline Wilson of Odessa; brother, J.D. Woodruff of Mansfield; sisters, Maurine Kiser of Oklahoma City and Genova Davis of Texas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Erminia Aleman
ODESSA — Erminia Aleman, 68, of Odessa, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at her residence.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Jimmy Carey
ABILENE — Jimmy “Gabby” Carey, 60, of Abilene, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Merkel First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
He was born in Merkel. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Comella “Sis” Williams of Abilene; sons, Truman Carey of Merkel, and Chris Carey of Friona; sisters, Elvee Brooks of Abilene, Margie Mount of Odessa, and Shirley O’Dell of Amarillo; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Fred Carr
ODESSA — Fred Irving Carr, 89, of Odessa, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Parks Methodist.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Eldon Missouri and came to Odessa in 1997 from Scottsdale Ariz. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Edwinna Carr of Odessa; daughters, Sidney Arrick of Odessa, Marilee Frazier of Tarpley, and Ilameta Moore of Birmingham Ala.; sister, Theresa Schick of Eldon, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great–grandchildren.

Fidel Garcia III
CRANE — Fidel Garcia III, 15, of Crane, a student at Crane High School, died on Saturday, April 26, 2003 in Crane County.
Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Crane County cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
He was born in Rankin and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Norma and Fidel Garcia, Jr. of Crane; sister, Karina M. Garcia of Crane; paternal grandparents, Maria and Fidel Garcia, Sr. of Crane; maternal grandparents, Dimas and Julia Castilla of Acuna, Mexico; numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

Travis Gordon
MIDLAND — Travis P. Gordon, 69, of Midland, a tool pusher, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, in Coleman, Texas. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born in Fisher County, Texas. He was in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He lived in Odessa from 1955-1970, Sonora from 1970-1984 and moved to Midland in 1984 where he lived at the time of his death. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, David Gordon and John Dale Gordon both of Midland; two sisters, Adela Bigham of Roby and Gwen Bray of Stephenville; one brother, Leon Gordon of Stephenville; six grandchildren; one great-grandson.
Fred Howard
ODESSA — Fred T. Howard, 74, of Breckinridge, an oilfield construction worker, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in St. Geniveve, Mo., and had served in the Marines.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Fred Howard of Kermit, Richard and Claude Howard both of Little Rock, Ark.; daughters, Stacey Anguish and Andrews, Lisa Worden of Breckinridge, Diana Weddle and Michelle Hermann both of Odessa, and Betty Walker of Little Rock, Ark.; brother, Norvel Lee Howard of St. Louis, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.

Anna Stephens
ODESSA — Anna Dell Stephens, 82, of Odessa, owner of Stephens Cleaners, passed away April 26, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Leonard and moved to Odessa in 1942. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Connie Stephens Long of Aztec N.M.; sister, Dorothy Goodwin of Palm Bay, Fla.; brothers, Loyd Partain of Bonham, Tommy Partain of Knoxville Tenn.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS — Judy G. Mahurin, 51, of Andrews, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, in Midland.

STANTON - Aureliano Garza, 81, a rancher, of Stanton, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Stanton Care Center.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. George Thirumangalam officiating and deacon Ernie Sanchez assisting. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Bastrop and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Juana Rosa Garza of Stanton; sons, Jose A. Garza of Bishop, Salvador Garza, Johnny Garza and Freddy Garza all of Stanton, Raymond Garza of Sevierville, Tenn.; daughter, Rosa Rubio of Caldwell; sister, Estella Garcia of Brownfield; 29 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Daniel Marvin Little, 78, a district manager for Cummings Sales and Service, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Thompson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lamesa Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Runnels County and was a WWII Navy veteran. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mary McCrury; brother, Willis Little of Abilene; sister, Jewell Courtney of San Antonio; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Louise Powell
FORT STOCKTON - Louise B. Powell, 85, of Fort Stockton, a bookkeeper, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Fort Stockton Church of Christ with Harold Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Comanche. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Husband, E.F. 'Fish' Powell of Fort Stockton; sons, Kent Powell of Rankin and Richard Powell of Alpine; daughter, Brenda Menzies of Aledo; sister, Johnnye Coleman of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS - Mary Tucker, 87, a nurses aid, of Andrews, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Revs. Ted Short, pastor of Grace Baptist Church and Bill Melton, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Fredrick, Okla., and moved to Andrews in 1961 from Snyder. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Howard Tucker of Andrews; sons: Gerry Tucker Sr. and Lee Van Tucker both of Andrews; daughter, Micheal Ann Hall of Streetman; five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mary Williams
ODESSA - Mary Nell Clark Williams, 57, of Odessa, a retired nurse, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Johns Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Moody. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Anthony James and Terrance Williams, both of Odessa; and four grandchildren.
