ODESSA — LaWanda Mercer Gourley, 76, of Odessa, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Belmont Baptist Church with Terry Wright officiating and Bryan Saffle assisting. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Ross, Okla. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sheri Hoskinson of Odessa, and Carla Presley of San Angelo; brothers, Aubrey Mercer of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Joe Mercer of Fort Worth; sisters, Wylma Madden of Odessa, Alma Mullinax of Altus, Okla., and Ona Mae Hallmark of Sweetwater; one grandchild; and eight great-grandchildren.

Leslie Gross
ANDREWS — Leslie E. Gross, 75, of Andrews, co-owner of Superior Construction, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with James Beard officiating. Burial will be at Andrews West Cemetary. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Holiday. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Bobbie Gross of Andrews; sons, Leslie E. Gross Jr. and Alton Gross, both of Andrews; daughter, Joyce Parnell of Andrews; step-children, Ronald Caraway of Puerto Rico and Connie Neatherlin of Milam; brothers, J.B. Gross, Wesley Gross and Lonnie Gross, all of Andrews; sister, Evelyn Bonham of Kermit; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jubentino Martinez Jr.
FORT STOCKTON — Jubentino “Jay” Javier Martinez Jr., 21, of Fort Stockton, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Templo Bautista “El Buen Pastor” Church with Pastor Albino Arenivas officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetary. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Jubentino and Maria Martinez of Fort Stockton; brothers, Jorge Martinez, Esgar Martinez and Eric Martinez, all of Fort Stockton, Oscar Martinez and Juventino Martinez of Midland, and Lucio Martinez and Alfredo Martinez of Mexico; and sisters, Carmen Martinez of Jacksonville, Fla., Maria Martinez of Fort Stockton, and Lucy Martinez and Argentina Martinez of Mexico.

ODESSA — David Paz Rodriguez, 71, of Odessa, died Friday August 1, 2003, at Odessa Home Hospice House.
A rosary was said Sunday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Saragosa. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ofelia Rodriguez; sons, Ruben Rodriguez, Abel Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez and Ronnie Rodriguez, all of Odessa; brothers, Fermin Rodriguez and Adan Rodriguez of Odessa; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Charlene Barnes
ANDREWS — Charlene Barnes, 73, of Lubbock, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at The Grace House in Lubbock.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Vera Gray
ODESSA — Vera Gray, 91, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney White officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
She was born in Coryell County.
She was a 20-year resident of Ector County. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Ed Gray of Kingsland; daughter, Frankie Rush of Odessa; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Helen Manley
ODESSA — Helen C. Manley, 89, of Odessa, a retired school nurse, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Hospice House in Odessa.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Calvary cemetery in Tulsa, Okla. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Joplin, Mo. She was Catholic

Maria Munoz
PECOS — Maria Lara Munoz, 84, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.
Mass was celebrated Friday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Florez officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Reyes Munoz of Roswell, N.M.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Mary Ann Wunderl Omar, 59, of Odessa, a teacher, died Thursday, July 3, 2003.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at Belvedere Memorial Park in San Angelo. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
She was born in San Angelo. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Son, William Burks of Arlington; daughter, Rene Burks of Odessa; mother, Mary Hayes Wunderl of San Angelo; brother, John Wunderl of San Angelo; and sister, Adele Waring of Vail, Colo.

SPRINGTOWN — Minnie Louise Bolden, 75, of Denver City, a nurse’s aide, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Yoakum County Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Springtown cemetery with Harley Pinon officiating. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver City.
She was born in Canadian, Texas. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Lloyd Verion Carruth of Venus, Texas, John Merion Carruth of Denver City and Dan David Carruth of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Cecil Daugherty
CRANE — Cecil Daugherty, 81 of Crane, a retired production foreman, died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Crane County cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
He was born near Coleman, Oklahoma.

ODESSA — Robert F. Hamilton, 89, of Odessa, an oilfield inventory warehouseman, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, in Austin.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland United Methodist Church with Don and Larry Forrester officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Thurber. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was Methodist.
