SEMINOLE -- Lola M. Wisdom, 55, former church secretary and bookkeeper for IGA, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, in Lubbock.
Services were held Saturday, March 14, 1998, at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Derrell Evins and Shane Kinnison officiating. Burial was at Gaines County Memorial Park. Arrangements by Roger Pool Funeral Home.
She was born in Seagraves and was a resident of Seminole. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Robert "ReddWisdom of Seminole; sons, David Kirk Wisdom of Houston and Jack Lenley Wisdom of Plainview; daughter, Kimberly Ann Garcia of Seminole; mother, Ellen Modena Wescott Ridens of Seminole; brother, Jack Ridens of Desdemona; sisters, Lenora Burns of Seminole, Ellen Parker of Gorman and Ann Green of Springfield, Mo.; and several grandchildren.

ODESSA -- Barbara Ray Cooke, 64, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday March 12, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Odessa Tabernacle with the Rev. Sam Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Garden. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was born in Corpus Christi and was a member of Odessa Tabernacle Church.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Rex C. Cooke of Odessa; daughters, Gayla French of Wichita Falls, Misty Dennard of Odessa; step-sons, Rex. M. Cooke of Odessa, Donald Cooke of Carlsbad, N.M.; step-daughters, Bennie Scown and Valeri Apodaca, both of Odessa; sister, Pat Burns of Port Lavaca; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MONAHANS -- Chyrel Ruth Gardner, 58, of Odessa, an office manager, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at her mother's residence in Monahans.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
She was born in Monahans and was a longtime resident of Monahans. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Florene Nichols of Monahans; sons, James Kent Newby of Duncan, Okla., Weston Ward Gardner of Odessa, William "BIllNichols of Greenville, Joe Dan Nichols of Monahans; daughter, Trish Gardner of Odessa; grandparent, Ethel Ingham of Monahans; and one grandchild.

ABILENE -- V. Jane Matthews, 80, of Abilene, a retired insurance agent, died Friday, March 13, 1998, at a local nursing center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Revs. Leroy Mason and Jonny Millington officiating. Burial will be at Corinth cemetery in Eastland County. Arrangements by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes.
She was born in Eastland County and was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Faye Matthews and Dora Fambrough, both of Abilene.

ODESSA -- Jana Gail Pugh, 62, of Odessa, a retired clerk, died Friday, March 13, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born Springfield, Mo.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Phil Pugh of Odessa; daughters, Vicki Steel and Lori Ellis, both of Odessa; sons, Paul Pugh of Flower Mound; brother, David Harris of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.

FREDERICKSBURG -- Inez Ratchford Purcell, 97, of Fredericksburg, a homemaker, died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Knopp Nursing Home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Dusek officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Oakwood cemetery in Austin. Arrangements by Beckmann Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Margaret Bierschwale of Fredericksburg, Caroline Barnes of Odessa; son, John Purcell of Dallas; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pearl Stanley
ANDREWS -- Pearl Belew Stanley, 86, of Andrews, a retired bookkeeper, died Friday, March 13, 1998, at her residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will be at Andrews cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Newton County, Mo., and moved to Andrews in 1989 from Seminole. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Evelyn Eades, Joyce Stevenson and Melvah Wharton, all of Andrews, Helen Bendrick of Arlington; step-daughter, Jewell Helmes of Seminole; sister, Lora Hoover of Neosho, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

SWEETWATER -- Ralph Leon Wilson, 49, of Odessa, a machinist, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, in Odessa.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCoy Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Roy C. Jones officiating. Burial will be at Sweetwater cemetery. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.
He was born in Maysefield and had lived in Odessa for 12 years after moving from Sweetwater.
SURVIVORS: Father, M.T. Staten of Sweetwater; brothers, Freddie Lee Wilson of Big Spring, Tommy Wilson of Fort Worth, Marvin Wilson of Odessa; sisters, Bertha Mae Staten of Sweetwater, Jonell Thomas of Las Cruces, N.M., and Brenda Moore of Sweetwater.

MIDLAND -- Daisy Borland, 83, a farmer and homemaker, of Midland County died Wednesday, March 11, 1998.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Church of Christ with Eli Borden officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m Saturday at Pyron cemetery in Scurry County. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Scurry County and was a longtime resident of Midland County. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Roy Borland of Galston, NSW, Australia, and R. Mike Borland of Midland; daughter, Ann Borland Wall of Midland; sisters, Mable Glass and Merle Glass, both of Hermleigh, Jane Bollinger of Roscoe and Geneva Smith of Lockney; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

DE SOTO -- Phillip "DonBrooks, 60, of Lancaster, owner/operator of Allied Oil Equipment Inc. and Bassco Services in Dallas, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998.

He was born in Borger and was a former resident of Odessa.
