ALPINE — Josefina Molinar, 80, of Alpine died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in Alpine.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Burial will be at Holy Angel cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Alpine. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Ramon Molinar Jr. of Alpine and Ruben Molinar of Riverside, Calif.; daughters, Elizabeth Slack of Houston, Angelica Molinar and Monica Molinar, both of Alpine, and Laura Mann of San Angelo; sisters, Amparo Cobos and Socorro Garcia, both of Alpine, and Teresa Rubio of El Paso; brothers, Julio Ramos of Del Rio, Alfonso Ramos and Salomon Ramos, both of Alpine; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Luther Moore
AMARILLO — Luther W. “Pete” Moore, 84, of Amarillo, a retired employee of United Supermarkets, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home.
He was born in Altoona, Ala. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Glenna Kaye Moore of Amarillo; son, Philip Moore of Odessa; daughters, Cheryl Ann Burns of Midland and Angela Ebert of Glendale, Ariz.; stepsons, Dana Robinson, Steve Robinson and Mike Robinson, all of Amarillo; sister, Coleen Ventre of Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Qwin Noles
ODESSA — Qwin Noles, 67, of Odessa, a former cook for Pojo’s Restaurant, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. today at Odessa cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
SURVIVORS: None listed.
Victor Prieto
PECOS — Victor “Monti” Prieto, 44, of Pecos, a laborer, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at Reeves County Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Flores officiating. Burial will be at Santa Rosa cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Pecos. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Victor Prieto Jr. and Vincent Prieto, both of Pecos, Gabriel Prieto, Jacob Prieto and Anthony Prieto, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson, Robert Reyes of Pecos; mother, Vicenta Prieto of Pecos; brothers, Juan Prieto and Jesse Prieto, both of Pecos, and Manuel Prieto of Odessa; sisters, Erminia Lechuga of Odessa, Frances Campos and Andrea Natividad, both of Pecos; and one grandchild.
Janie Rodriguez
PECOS — Janie Rodriguez, 59, of Pecos, a correction officer, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God with
Matt Williamson officiating. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos.
SURVIVORS: Son, Antonio Garcia of Pecos; brothers, Dulces Rodriguez of Dallas and Frank Rodriguez of Pecos; sisters, Ethel Miller of Vista, Calif., Tommie Vasquez and Pauline Marmolijo, both of Lubbock, Mary Garcia of Pecos and Martha Vasquez of San Angelo; and one grandchild.
Maria Solis
ODESSA — Maria “TiaTa” R. Solis, 49, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at her residence.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at her residence, 621 N. Kelly Ave. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A private family burial will follow. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos. She was a Christian Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Victor Gonzalez; sons, Luis Solis and David Solis, both of Odessa, and Monserrath Solis Jr. of Dallas; mother, Aurora Franco of Odessa; brother, Andres Ramos of Midland; sisters, Guadalupe Anchondo, Maribel Torres and Hortencia Ramos, all of Odessa, and Ramona Levario of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.

ODESSA — Wesley James Thomason, 63, of Odessa died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at his residence.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

ODESSA — Vernon Whitehouse, 79, of Odessa died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Patricia Dea Moore
ABILENE — Patricia Dea Moore, 51, formerly of Merkel, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at a local nursing center.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Merkel First United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Merrell and Curtis Bently officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Our beloved sister was born Oct. 5, 1951 in Merkel to Dee Laverne and Lydia Jane Monk Moore. She graduated from Merkel High School in 1970 and was valedictorian of her class. She attended McMurry University and graduated from Baylor School of Nursing. Pat received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She worked for Abilene State School for 13 years and as a school nurse for Abilene Independent School District for 13 years. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene and active in her single group.
Pat was dearly loved by all her students at school, whom she called “her children.” She was a very modest, unassuming person who never complained, even in her last days. Most of her friends never knew, until her death, of her academic achievements that she achieved in spite of being diagnosed with diabetes at age two. She suffered poor health most of her life. She loved being with her family, friends and pets.
Survivors include her father, Dee Laverne Moore of Big Spring; two sisters, Twyla Greenfield and husband, Jay, of Odessa, and Gloria Isom and husband, Rodney, of Sweetwater; several nieces and nephews, Daryl Greenfield, Lance Greenfield, Scott Isom, Tiffany Greenfield and Nicole and Colyn Greenfield.
Billy Dean Neel
ODESSA — Billy Dean Neel, 71, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at Deerings Nursing Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Billy Dean Neel was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Duncan, Okla., to Ray and Christine Russell Neel. He served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Zeb’s Tap Room until his retirement in 1993. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his companion, Rose Clapper of Odessa; sons, Randy Neel of Burleson and Shawn Clapper of Odessa; daughters, Tonya Randall and husband, Randy, of Andrews, Sandra West of Burleson, Denise Collins of Burleson and Janis Bolt of Joshua; brother, Richard Neel of Brownwood; sister, Ruth Richardson of Plano; and several grandchildren.
Cal David Wright
ODESSA — Cal David Wright, 44, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2003, in Odessa, Texas. He was born April 13, 1959 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
He is survived by his son, Shawn of Brownwood, Texas; daughter, Linda of Brownwood, Texas; mother, Glenda Wright of Midland, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and John Elder and niece, Alexandrea Elder of Spring, Texas.
A memorial service was held Saturday August 9, 2003, at the Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial was in Seminole, Okla.
Services were entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Chlorene Blades
FAIRFIELD, Ill. — Chlorene Elizabeth Wilson Blades, 93, of Nokomis, Fla., a retired teacher, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be at Maple Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home of Fairfield.
She was born in Wayne County.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Nancy Johnson of Odessa and Frances Miler of Nokomis; brothers, Leo Wilson of Bakersfield, Calif. and Joe Wilson of El Paso, Texas; sisters, Claribel Smith of Fairfield, Marjorie Davis of Salem, Ky., Marie Wells of Sims and Lucy Porter of Springfield; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Martin Christian
SAN MARCOS — Martin “Bud” Christian, 58, of San Marcos, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at a San Marcos hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church NBC with the Rev. A.D. Dillard officiating. Burial will be at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale. Arrangements are by Pennington Funeral Home.
He was born in Colorado City and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Emma Christian of San Marcos; son, Charles Christian of San Marcos; brothers, Tommy Christian, Clarence Christian, Jonathan Christian and Levi Christian, all of Odessa; sisters, Mahalia Robert of Houston, Thelma Cook of Dallas, Idell Tatum of Odessa, Mary Hubert of Andrews and Ruby Terry Meadows of Athens, Ga.
