Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Vicente Avalos
ODESSA - Vicente Neftali Avalos, infant son of Agapito 'Peter' and Sophia Flores Avalos of Odessa, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services were held at 3 p.m. March 29 at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors chapel with Greg Molina officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
SURVIVORS: Parents; grandparents, Juan and Elpidia Avalos of Odessa, Dolores Navarrette of Monahans and Armando Flores of Covina, Calif.; great-grandparents, Camilo and Olivia Avalos of Tamaulipas, Mexico, Ignacia Porras of Odessa, Maria Montez of Imperial and Geronima Flores of Crane.

OJINAGA, Chih., Mexico - Juana Rodriguez Contreras, 81, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Ojinaga. Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday at Iglesia Catholica de Ojinaga. Burial will be at Panteon Jardines de San Jose in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was Christian Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Maria Olivas of Odessa, Martha Contreras of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Maria Luisa Olivas of Comales, Tamalipas; brothers, Ramon Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Julio Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

Ollie Hunter
ANDREWS - Ollie Harris Hunter, 90, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in McKinney Acres Baptist Church with the Revs. Ted Short and John McQueen officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Knott. She was a member of McKinney Acres Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Darlene Drennan of Andrews; son, Harvey Harris of Andrews; stepdaughters, Frances Russell of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Violet Drake of Yucca Valley, Calif.; stepsons, Glenn Hunter of Clarksville, Ark., and Robert Hunter of Seminole; brother, Jimmy Nichols of Lamesa; sister, Rae Roberson of Lamesa; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Martha Jackson
ODESSA - Martha Jackson, 78, of Odessa died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at her residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Roscoe Sutton officiating. Burial will be at the Ector County cemetery, Rose Hill Section. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in McLennan County and moved to Odessa in 1956. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Alvin Jackson of Oxnard, Calif., and David Jackson of El Paso; daughter, Kathy Craft of Houston; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Josefa Ortiz
MONAHANS - Josefa Hinojos Ortiz, 82, of Monahans, a retired waitress, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Monahans Managed Care Center.
Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home.
She was born in Lajitas and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Rogelio Ortiz of Phoenix; daughters, Carmen Olibas, Josie Salcido and Dolores Ochoa, all of Monahans; brother, Santiago Hinojos of Odessa; sister, Isabel Villa of Alpine; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Cecil Welch
ODESSA - Cecil Welch, 91, of Fredericksburg, a retired heavy equipment operator, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Atoka, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Freda Welch of Fredericksburg; son, John Welch of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughter, Rebecca Watson of Fredericksburg; and three grandchildren.
