ODESSA — Jesus Jose Pinon, 79, of Odessa, a ranch hand, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Hospice House.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Arturo Pestin officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Cienega de Loya, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Silvina L. Pinon of Odessa; sons, Joaquin Pinon, Marin Pinon, Luis Pinon and Manuel Pinon, all of Odessa and Perfecto Pinon II of Hondo, Miss.; daughters, Evangelina Gonzales, Elvia Ontiveros, Christina Marquez, Moraima Contreras and Gloria Rodriguez, all of Odessa and Rosa Ramos of Chihuahua; brothers, Ignacio Pinon, Jose “Pepe” Pinon and Julio Pinon, all of Chihuahua; sisters, Emma Guiterrez of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Edelmira Villargran of Roswell, N.M. and Estefana Pinon of Chihuahua; 29 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Marie Roy
ODESSA — Marie DeLoch Roy, 66, of Odessa, a former employee of the Ector County Independent School District transportation department, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Allen, Okla. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Dewayne Roy of Fort Worth; brothers, Floyd DeLoch and Lloyd DeLoch, both of Kentucky and Jack DeLoch of Fort Worth; and sisters, Kay Homecrest of Odessa and Claudette Sanders of Mansfield.
Esperanza Saenz
VAN HORN — Esperanza Franco Saenz, 84, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at an El Paso hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Burial will be at Van Horn cemetery. Arrangements are by Van Horn Funeral Home.
She was born in La Paz, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Librado Saenz of Odessa and Domingo Saenz of Van Horn; daughters, Cele Meraz and Ramona Barrera, both of Pecos, Jacinta Velez and Juanita Carrasco, both of Van Horn, Socorro Taylor of Odessa and Ludy Valderano of Hobbs, N.M.; brother, Emilio Franco of Porvenir, Chihuahua, Mexico; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Margie Sampson
ODESSA — Margie Mae Sampson, 67, of Odessa, a retired manager in the radio industry, died Dec. 17, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Danbury, Wis.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Damon Parisher of Odessa; and sons, Scott Sampson of Chicago and Bryan Sampson of Phoenix.
Z.L. Sharp
MIDLAND — Z.L. “Dock” Sharp, 79, of Midland, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in Midland.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Carlton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ramona Odetta Sharp of Midland; daughter, Nancy Jane Wright of Gainesville; sister, Marge White of Carlton; and one grandchild.

FORT STOCKTON — Brenda Aurora Tapp, 23, of Fort Stockton, an employee with TDCJ, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Arrange-ments are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Aurora C. Tapp of Fort Stockton; brothers, Jessie Carrillo Tapp and Cletus Carrillo Tapp Jr., both of Odessa; and grandmother, Manuela Carrillo of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Betty Turner
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Betty Jo Turner, 76, of Las Cruces, formerly of Clovis, N.M. and Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Mountain View Hospital in Las Cruces of diabetes-related heart failure.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Healing Word Sanctuary. Arrangements are by Baca’s Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Waxahachie.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, La’Nell Heard, Janis Jobe and Deborah Hawkins, all of Odessa, Ann Pearson of Ballinger, Barbara Gastineall of Omaha, Neb., Brenda Michael of Booneville, Miss., Carla Jo Munoz of Las Cruces and Elizabeth Hack of Texarkana, Texas; and sisters, Bonnie Cline and Frances Cline, both of Clyde, Anna Lou Cohen of Lamesa and Helen Cline of Abilene.

BROWNWOOD — Gordon Wood, 89, of Brownwood, a retired coach, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in an Abilene hospital.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Mims Auditorium on the campus of Howard Payne University with the Rev. Joan Gaines officiating. A private interment will be before the services. Arrangements by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
He was born in Abilene. He was a 26-year resident of Brownwood. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Katherine Wood of Brownwood; daughter, Pat Wood of San Antonio; son, Jim Wood of Amarillo; brother, Troy Wood of Abilene; and two grandchildren.

ODESSA — Ramon Falcon, 71, of Odessa, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Templo Buenas Nuevas Church with the Rev. Rosario Hill officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Chapa Funeral Home.
He was born in La Villa de Escobedo, Coahuila.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Emelda Rodriguez Falcon of Odessa; sons, Octavio Falcon, Ernesto Falcon and Luis Armando Falcon, all of Odessa, Juan Falcon of Monclova, Coahuila, Arnulfo Falcon and Ramon Falcon, both of Ojinaga, Mexico; daughter, Josefina Sosa of Odessa; parents, Eulalia Mejia and Jesus Falcon, both of Escobedo, Coahuila; brother, Rey Mundo Falcon of Hermanas, Coahuila; sister, Mariana Falcon of Monterrey, Mexico; and 23 grandchildren.

SEMINOLE — Monce Franco, 48, of Seminole, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at North West Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

He was born in Mexico and moved to Seminole from Odessa. He was Catholic.

FORT STOCKTON — Angelina G. Hernandez, 80, of Fort Stockton, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at her residence.

She was born in Cisco. She was Catholic.
