ODESSA — Neysa Mae Smith, 47, of Odessa, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Carlsbad, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Gary Smith of Odessa; son, Henry Reeves Smith of Odessa; daughter, Dondi Mae Smith of Odessa; mother, Effie Reeves of Carlsbad, N.M.; and sister, Cindy Reeves of Albuquerque, N.M.

Jose Tercero
PECOS — Jose M. Tercero, 85, of Odessa, a retired carpenter and contractor, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home and Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Davis. He served in the Army and was a Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Steve Tercero of Odessa; daughters, Mary Botello of Orange Park, Fla., and Priscilla Ely and Rosa DeLaO, both of Odessa; brothers, Dolores Tercero of Surprise, Ariz., and Ildefonso Tercero of Prescott, Ariz.; sisters, Fabiola Garcia of El Monte, Calif., and Teresa Hernandez of Surprise, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Viola Brady
FORT STOCKTON — Viola K. Brady, 84, of Fort Stockton, a retired restaurant owner and operator, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, in Odessa.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Pierce, Okla. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Mary Ann Miller of Groesbeck and Glenda Jean McKinney of Boerne; and brother, Lewis John Simpson of Teague.

Barbara Brooks
FORT STOCKTON — Barbara L. Brooks, 77, of Abilene, a homemaker, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2004, in Abilene.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at East Hill cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Larry Krueger officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Roy Brooks of Abilene; son, Sterling Brooks of Winters; daughter, Karen Cohan of San Angelo; sister, Cherrye Ann Kerley of Kennewick, Wash.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Elauteria Chacon
FORT STOCKTON — Elauteria R. Chacon, 92, of Fort Stockton, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in Fort Stockton
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Floro Hinacay officiating. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Castolon.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Alfonso Chacon of Odessa and Nicasio Chacon Jr. of Midland; daughters, Maria Luisa Viscallino of Midland, Guillerma Hinojos and Maria Lujan, both of Odessa, Dominga Gomez of Fort Stockton and Eva Morales of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; brother, Asencion Garcia of Alpine; 41 grandchildren; and 66 great-grandchildren.

Steven Duff
MIDLAND — Steven Carl Duff, 54, of Midland, a retired oilfield worker, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at a local hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Wilhelm officiating. Arrangements by Pipkin Funeral Home.
He was born in Andrews. He was in the Air Force.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Duff of Midland; sons, Billy Carl Duff and Cristian D. Duff, both of Midland; father, Marvin Duff of Midland; brother, Ronald Duff of Cedar Edge, Colo.; and sister, Janice Renfro of Gardendale.

Maria Gavaldon
PECOS — Maria N. Gavaldon, 81, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in Pecos.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at 1011 S. Martinez. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Rosa Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home.
She was born in Mexico. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Zeferino Gavaldon of Pecos; sons, Baldomero Gavaldon of Freeport and Ysidro Gavaldon of Pasadena, TX.; daughters, Bertha Morales of Pecos and Manuela Gavaldon of Houston; brothers, Doroteo Morales of El Paso and Geraldo Morales of Odessa; sister, Brijida Esparza of Saragosa; 17 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

William Neidhardt
ALPINE — William T. Neidhardt, 86, of Alpine, a retired contractor, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 204, in Houston.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dick Zimmer officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Spenceville, Ohio. He served in the Army and was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Ralph Neidhardt of Houston and James Neidhardt of Lindsey; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Overton
BRYAN — Elizabeth “Betty” Overton, 72, of Bryan, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, in Bryan.
Services and arrangements are pending.
She was Baptist.

ODESSA — Ivan McLemore, 79, of Odessa, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at his residence.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Glenda Bickerstaff
ODESSA - Glenda Bickerstaff, 58, of Odessa, an employee of Medical Center Hospital, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at her residence.
Her family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at 6500 Piedmont. There will be no formal services.
She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Bobby Bickerstaff of Odessa; son, Bobby Rogers of Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Yolanda Watson of DeQueen, Ark.; step-sons Bobby and Tracy Bickerstaff of Odessa and Chris Bickerstaff of Texarkana, Ark.; mother Edna Whitacre of Odessa; sister, Billie Lou Foster of Odessa; two brothers, Charly Whitacre and Chainey Whitacre of Odessa; and 11 grandchildren.

Jesus Chacon
ODESSA - Jesus Chacon, 78, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Iglesia de Cristo, located at 6101 Ector Ave. with the Rev. Raymundo Calzadias officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Alejandra Chacon of Odessa; sons, Jose Chacon, Jaime Chacon, Alberto Chacon, Alfredo Chacon, Victor Chacon and Juan Mario Chacon, all of Odessa; daughters, Maria Cuellar, Socorro Villalobos, Teresa Armendariz and Juany Chacon, all of Odessa, Maria Elena Chacon of Ojinaga, Mexico; brothers, Arcadio Chacon and Primitivo Chacon, both of Mexico; sisters, Dominga Chacon and Santos Chacon, both of Mexico; 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
