MIDLAND - Sherwood D. Armstrong, 87, of Midland, an oil industry employee, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, in Midland.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Barstow. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
SURVIVORS Wife, Geraldine Armstrong of Midland; son, Lance Armstrong of Midland; daughter, Shery Layne of Flower Mound; and four grandchildren.

Robert H. ‘Bob’ Burns
SEMINOLE - Robert H “Bob” Burns, 82, of Seminole, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at the Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the South Seminole Baptist Church with James T. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Gaines County cemetery under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Paris. He was a 58-year resident of Seminole. He was Baptist. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS Wife, Lenora Burns of Seminole; son, David Burns of Jefferson; daughter, Karen Gill of Seminole; brothers, Rex Burns of San Diego, Weldon Burns of Deer Park and Don Burns of Pasadena; sister, Dorothy Cash of Colorado City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Carl ‘Glyn’ Gray
ABILENE - Carl “Glyn” Gray, 60, of Abilene, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at an Abilene medical center.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories.

ODESSA - Amparo Tavarez Hernandez, 78, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be at RoseHill cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Mexico. She was Catholic.

Guerrero, Nimfa Hernandez, Irma Rodriguez and Rosalina Hernandez, all of Odessa; brother, Cruz Tavarez of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; sisters, Santos Tavarez of Odessa, Eva Madrid of Midland, Rita Moreno of Monahans, Dominga Villa Senor and Refugo Nieto, both of Ojinaga, Chihuahua; 35 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Electra - John Walter Lawrence, 83, of Vancouver, Wash., died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, in Vancouver.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Electra Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
He was born in Egypt, Ark. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.

LOVINGTON, N.M. - Conrad Bustamante Martinez, 53, of Hobbs, N.M., died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, in Odessa.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will be at Lovington cemetery. Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born in El Mulato, Mexico. He was Catholic.
Survivors Wife, Fidelia Martinez of Hobbs, N.M.; sons, Conrad Martinez Jr. and Rodrigo Martinez, both of Odessa; daughters, Yvette Hernandez of Odessa, Maritza Martinez of Lovington, N.M.; stepsons, Benny Brito of Fort Worth, Sammy Brito and Moises Brito, both of Hobbs, N.M.; stepdaughter, Sonia Montoya of Morton; five brothers; two sisters; and 11 grandchildren.
