PECOS -- Ruben Lawrence Renteria, 5, of Barstow died on Saturday, September 12, 1998, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow with Rev. Miguel Aquino officiating. Burial will be at Barstow cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

He was born in Pecos. He was Catholic.

Survivors: Parents, Ruben and Laura Renteria of Barstow; sisters, Kendra Renteria of Barstow, and Brandi Renteria of Odessa; brother, Rodrick Renteria of Barstow; grand-parents, Benny and Gloria Avila of Barstow, and Pablo and Victoria Renteria of Pecos; great-grandparents, Thomas Gonzales of Clint, Chona Abila and Louisa Contreras, both of Barstow.

Lawrence Vick

ODESSA -- Lawrence David Vick, 66, of Midland, a retired employee of Phillips Petroleum, died Sunday, September 13, 1998, in his residence after a lengthy illness.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with hospice chaplain Gale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sun-set Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in New Gulf.

Survivors: Sons, David Vick of Lacy-Lakeview, Larry Vick of Gardendale, and Gary Vick of Grand Prairie; daughters, Sharon Vick of Longview, and Cathy Patterson; mother, Lena Vick of Orchard; brother, Alfred Vick of Orchard, and Jimmy Vick of Ganado; and four grandchildren.

Bernell Beck
ODESSA -- Bernell Beck, 63, of Odessa, a retired employee of Rexene, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Roscoe Sutton officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Carthage and had been a resident of Odessa for 53 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Della Beck of Odessa; daughters, Pamela Jane Beck and Brenda Nell Rollie, both of Odessa; mother, Emma Sutton of Odessa; brothers, Velvet Beck Jr., and Billy Beck, both of Odessa; sister, Florene Jones of Odessa, and four grandchildren.

Betty Carlile
NOWATA, Okla. -- Betty Louise Patrick Carlile, 66, of Marland, Okla., an employee of Consumers IGA, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Ponca City, Okla.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Killion officiating. Burial will be at Ball cemetery in Childers, Okla. Arrangements by Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.
She was born in Nowata, Okla., and moved to Oklahoma in 1986 from Odessa.
Survivors: Daughters, Georgia Mackey of Austin, Theresa Lauver of Marland, Okla., Tina Price of Fort Worth, Sissy Bundick of Odessa; brothers, Carl Patrick of Nowata, Okla.,Billy Joe Patrick of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sisters, Helen Henry and Leona Costello, both of Talala, Okla., Emma Vann of Drumright, Okla.; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

ODESSA -- J.L. (Jack) Leroy Hammer, 79, of Odessa, a retired truck driver, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Midland.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Bixby, Okla., and moved to Odessa 50 years ago from California. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors: Wife, Leola Hammer of Odessa; son, Rick Hammer of Fort Worth; daughter, Jackie Grissom of Odessa; step-daughter, Charleen Jones of Houston; step-sons, Dennis Ikeler of Odessa, Ronnie Ikeler of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Peggy Prickett of Odessa, Jessie Tolson and Iona Sutton, both of Longview.

Bessie Henderson
ANDREWS -- Bessie Henderson, 77, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Permian General Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Dozier officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Bado, Mo., and moved to Andrews in 1965 from Morton.
Survivors: Son, Ken Henderson of Andrews; daughter, Virginia Young of Andrews; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Lawrence Ross
PECOS -- Lawrence (Larry) Ross, 86, of Pecos died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Reeves County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mount Evergreen cemetery with the Rev. James Sain officiating. Arrangments by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Lillian Ross of Pecos; son, Bert Ross of Pecos; step-son, Joe Moore of Midland; step-daughter, Jean Skiff of San Angelo; brother, Adam Ross of Madison; sister, Jane Ross of Pecos; and five great-grandchildren.

Norma Wade
BIG SPRING -- Norma Wade, 72, of Big Spring, a retired office manager, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at a Midland Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with the James Liggett officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
She was born in Cherryvale, Kan. She was Episcopalian.
Survivors: Husband, Conny Wade of Big Spring; daughters, Marilyn Wade of Houston, Polly Lancaster of Big Spring, Cindy Pierce of Odessa; brothers, Bob Esch, Keith Esch and Karl Esch, all of Kansas; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was born in Maud, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1941 from Maud, Okla.

Survivors: Sons, Fred Miller of Odessa, Don Miller of Bronte; daughter, Rita Darlene Smith of Odessa; mother, Mary Collum of Odessa; sisters, Virginia Gesch and Mary Christian, both of Odessa, Bonnie Applet of Hallettsville, Ruth Emerson and Phenone Hunt, both of Port Lavaca; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
