HOBBS, N.M. -- Margaret May Theriac, 94, of Odessa died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memory Gardens cemetery with the Rev. Kimberly Kinsey officiating. Arrangements Griffin Funeral Home Inc.
She was born in Strawn and moved to Odessa in 1994 from Hobbs, N.M.

James Turner
GRANDFALLS -- James C. Turner, 75, of Grandfalls, a retired grocery store owner, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Tamarisk cemetery with the Rev. Racheal Mull officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
He was born in Rising Star and was a longtime resident of Grandfalls.
Survivors: Brother, E.L. Turner of Grandfalls; and sister, Audrea Calls of Eldorado.

Lucia Urias
FORT STOCKTON -- Lucia V. Urias, 90, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico, and moved to Fort Stockton in 1911. She was Catholic.
Survivors: Sons, Pete Urias of Austin, Carlos Urias Jr. of Guymon, Okla., and Benito Urias of Fort Stockton; daughters, Sarah Swonke of Tomball, Rose Mary Vasquez of El Paso; sister, Olivia Maldonado of Fort Stockton; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Bernell Beck
ODESSA -- Bernell Beck, 63, of Odessa died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Thomas Beard

ODESSA -- Thomas Marion Beard, 57, an associate pastor, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Westwood Medical Center.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Odessa Tabernacle with the Revs. Sam Jordan and Robert Stephens officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Diunba, Calif.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Paulette Beard of Odessa; son, Thomas L. Beard of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Dene M. Williams of Nashville, Tenn.; father, Benny Beard of Dinuba, Calif.; mother, Mildred Harris of Cushing, Okla.; and one grandchild.

Carlos Cadena

GRANDFALLS -- Carlos Granado Cadena Sr., 74, a truck driver, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with the Rev. Roberto Alvarado officiating. Interment will be at Grandfalls cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Terlingua. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Son, Carlos Cardena Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Guadalupe Rey of Imperial and Christiana Ramires; sisters, Tomasa Vasquez, Tina Acosta and Nancy Acosta, all of Grandfalls, Lucia Prieto of Lubbock, Francisca Dominguez of Ozona, Rosie Williams of Monahans, and Elizabeth Torres of Pecos; and brother, Macario Cadena of Midland.

Charles Gibson

LAREDO -- Charles Edward "Hoot" Gibson, 63, restauranteur and song writer, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Catholic cemetery. Arrange-ments by Hillside Funeral Home.

He was born in Louisville, Ky. He was a Marine veteran and member of the Texas State Guard.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Hilda Fernandez Gibson; children, Eddie Gibson, Theresa Walker, Debbie James, Terry Lynn Naney, Kimberly Boyles, Jacey Stiles; stepchildren, Roger Garcia, Jerry Garcia, Lizette Y. Garcia; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lucas Corral

ODESSA -- Lucas Corral Sr., 92, a laborer, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be at Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in El Presidio, Durango, Mexico.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Gregorio Corral, Jose F. Corral, Rosendo Corral, all of Odessa, Lucas Corral Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jesus Corral of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Paula Avila of Phoenix, Ariz., Rosa Maria Delgadillo, Socorro Valdiviez, and Librado Martinez, all of Juarez, Mexico; and 55 grandchildren.

Ruben Renteria

PECOS -- Ruben Renteria, 5, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in a Dallas hospital.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Pecos Funeral Home.

Roy Brewer

McCOMB, Miss. -- Lee Roy Brewer, Jr., 49, of McComb, Miss., assistant superintendent of the North Pike School District, died Friday, September 11, 1998.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. today at East McComb Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Hollywood cemetery. Arrangements are by Hartman Funeral Home of McComb.

He was born in McComb, Miss. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Ganeath Ritchie Brewer of McComb; sons, Ritchie Brewer of Hattiesburg, Miss., and David Brewer of Oxford, Miss.; daughter, Trisha Stanley of McKinney; mother, Mary Katherine Bishop Brewer of McComb; brothers, Luke Brewer of Summit, Miss., and Curtis Brewer of Odessa; grandmother, Mable Brewer of McComb; and one grandchild.

Garland Choate

ODESSA -- Garland Ralph Choate, 73, a retired crew chief for Pioneer Natural Gas, died Saturday, September 12, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Beacon Baptist Church with the Rev. Amon Langston and Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Lamesa and was Baptist. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Helen Choate of Odessa; son, Jerry Wayne Kidd of Odessa; sister, Buelah Woods of Highland, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Edna Guerra

ODESSA -- Edna Mireles Guerra, 50, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Saturday, September 12, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Asherton.

Survivors: Husband, Roberto Guerra of Odessa; son, Michael Guerra of Odessa; step-sons, John Henry Guerra of Fort Worth, and Joseph Charles Guerra of Odessa; daughters, Imelda Armenariz and Paula Guerra, both of Odessa; mother, Paula Mireles of Asherton; brothers, Hector Mireles of Odessa, Norberto Mireles of Algona, Tex., Margil Mireles of Crane, Rodrigo Mireles of Bryan, and Rolando Mireles of Asherton; sisters, Juanita Gonzales and Ofelia Soto, both of Odessa, and Diana Mireles of Asherton; and one grandchild.

Max Reed

ANDREWS -- Max L. Reed, 74, of Andrews, a retired employee of Exxon, died Saturday, September 12, 1998, at Permian General Hos-pital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Golden officiating.

He was born in Walensburg, Colo. He was Baptist. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Reed of An-drews; sons, Stephen L. Reed of Dallas, and Floyd L. Reed of Austin; daughter, Cynthia A. Welsch of St. Charles, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
