HOBBS, N.M. -- Harlin Ray Wagner, 61, of Hobbs, N.M., a weed sprayer, died Aug. 25, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. Leon Green officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home Inc.
He was born in El Paso. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: Son, Cory Ray Wagner of Fort Worth; brothers, R.G. Wagner of Odessa and Byford Wagner of Sulphur, La.; and sister, Margie Pryor of Tucson, Ariz.

Loy Weldon
PECOS -- Loy Marie Weldon, 86, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Reeves County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. J.M. McCormick officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Maplewood, Ohio, and had lived in Pecos since 1978.
She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Brothers, Doyle R. Miller, R.L. Miller, Lawrence Eugene Miller, Carroll Allen Miller and Merle Miller, all of Lakeview, Ohio; sisters, Freemont Miller of Waynesville, Ohio, Jane Ann Regal of Harrisburg, Penn., and Rita Zimmerman of Lakeview, Ohio.

Idelfonso Abeyta
ODESSA -- Idelfonso "Ponch" C. Abeyta, 62, of Odessa, a retired postal clerk, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Big Spring.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Los Angeles, and moved to Odessa 56 years ago. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Pascuala Abeyta of Odessa; mother, Yona Armijo of Socorro, N.M.; sons, David Lee Abeyta of Houston, John R. Subia of El Paso, Frank Ricky Abeyta of San Antonio, James Edward Abeyta of Odessa; brothers, Alex Abeyta of El Paso, Juan Abeyta Jr. of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Delores Puga and Ofelia Armendariz, both of Odessa; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Frank Farkus
ODESSA -- Frank Ernest Farkus, 85, of Whitewright, a retired tool crib manager, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Wilson N. Jones Regional Health Center.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Barney Rodriguez officiating. Arrangments by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Acme, Penn. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Betty Borchardt of Whitewright; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Carl Peeples
FORT STOCKTON -- Carl E. Peeples, 87, of Fort Stockton, a dirt contractor, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Larry Krueger officiating. Burial will be at Water Valley cemetery in Water Valley. Arrangments by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Whon and moved to Fort Stockton in 1963 from Rocksprings. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Louise Peeples of Fort Stockton, daughter, Carlene Stacy of Iraan; brother, Jack Simmons of Las Vegas; sister, Tylene Bryant of Mart; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

John Winn
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- John B. Winn, 73, of Russellville, Ark., a retired electrician, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Shinn Chapel with the Revs. Don Rose and Stephen Davis officiating. Burial will be at Oakland cemetery. Arrangements by Shinn Funeral Service Inc.
He was born in Trent. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Vallie J. Winn of Russellville, Ark.; son, Jay Kemp Winn of Russellville, Ark.; step-son, Roger Prince of Casper, Wyo.; step-daughter, Elaine Carroll of Russellville, Ark.; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Winn Duncan of Russellville, Ark., and Rita Mae Taylor of Houston; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.

Steve Bellis
ODESSA -- Steve M. Bellis, 66, of Midland, an insurance adjuster, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Rillton, Penn., and had been a resident of the Midland-Odessa area for 44 years. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors: Sons, Stephen Andrew Bellis of Odessa, David Alan Bellis and Michael Scott Bellis, both of Midland; brothers, John Bellis and Richard Bellis, both of Pennsylvania, Douglas Bellis of Maryland; sisters, Geraldine Brueckner of California, Delores Hunter of New Jersey, Patricia Bellis of Florida; and three grandchildren.

Ethel Dawson
CLOVIS, N.M. -- Ethel F. (Kidd) "Gi Gi" Dawson, 89, of Texico, N.M., died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at her residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating. Services will also be held at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hedley with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be at Rowe cemetery. Arrangements by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
She was born in Hedley and moved to Texico, N.M., in 1995 from Artesia, N.M. She was Methodist.
Survivors: Daughters, Dorothy Vaught of Odessa, Linda Haykus of Hobbs, N.M., and Judy Lekavich of Texico, N.M.; son, Walter Don Johnston of Artesia, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Free
LUBBOCK -- Myrtle Free, 90, of Lubbock, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at a care center in Lubbock.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Home.
She was born in Clayborn and moved to Lubbock in 1929.
Survivors: Daughter, Darlene White of Lubbock; sons, Melvin Free of Midland and Doyle Free of New Deal.

Mary Nance
LUBBOCK -- Mary Allene Bridges Nance, 76, of Hope Mills, N.C., a cosmetologist, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Jimmy Fikes officiating. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.
She was born in Fannin County and moved to Fayetteville, N.C., in 1998 from Lubbock. She was Baptist.
Survivors: Daughter, Susan Brown of Fayetteville, N.C.; brothers, William Painter of Richland Hills, Tom Taylor of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Betty Jo Behrends of Odessa and Nell Hankes of Arlington; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was born in O’Donnell. He was Baptist.
Survivors: Son, Erik Allen Sutton of Galveston; parents, Kenneth and Myra Sutton of Andrews; brother, Rick L. Sutton of Odessa; and sister, Rhonda J. Sutton of Carrollton.
