Mike Nesbit
HEWITT -- Mike Nesbit, 43, of Hewitt, a managing partner with Bush Golden Crisp Chicken, died Friday, June 19, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gonzales Memorial Park in Gonzales. Arrangements by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco.

He was born in Sulphur, La. He was a 1973 graduate of Odessa High School.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Betty Jean Pearson; brothers, Tommy Sandlin of Rosenburg, Keith Bush of Robinson and Earl Nesbit of San Antonio and four nieces and nephews.

Velma Bozeman

STAMFORD -- Velma Bozeman, 96, of Stamford, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at a local nursing home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Kinney Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will be at Bethel cemetery. Arrangements by Kinney Funeral Home.

She was born in Collin County and had lived in Stamford since 1971. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors: Sister, Gladys Harmon of Houston.

Ernest Miles

ODESSA -- Ernest Miles, 80, of Odessa, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Mansfield, La., and moved to Odessa in 1976 from Fort Worth. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Tommie Miles of Odessa.

Fran Perry

GEORGETOWN -- Fran Perry, 71, of Georgetown, retired executive director of Stonehaven Center, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at Park Place Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Presbyterian cemetery. Arrangements by Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home.

She was born in Merkel and moved to Georgetown in 1987. She was Presbyterian.

Survivors: Daughters, Libby Denton of Tuole, Utah, and Ginny Bratrud of San Jose, Calif., Gena Lutz of Georgetown; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Betty Storey

ODESSA -- Betty Jean Storey, 61, of Odessa, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Sulphur Springs and moved to Odessa in 1969 from Monahans. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Husband, Tommy Storey of Odessa; son, Steven Storey of Odessa; daughter, Debbie Blackstock of Olney; sister, Myra Sue Jenkins of Odessa; and one grandchild.

Betty Townsend

ODESSA -- Betty Townsend, 70, of Odessa, a retired nurse, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Highland and Bunche Church of Christ with Gene Collins officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Palestine. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors: Sons, Jewel David Townsend of Houston, Joseph Lee Townsend of Sweetwater, Samuel Lee Townsend of Abilene and David Lee Townsend of Odessa; daughters, Ella Jewel Davis and Linda Kay Busby, both of Midland, and Teresa Kelly Townsend of Big Spring; brothers, Robert Kay Jones of Midland, and Walter Reece Jones of Tye.

Bonnie Beckett

EUNICE, N.M. -- Bonnie Renteria Beckett, 67, of Eunice, N.M., a homemaker, died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Jared officiating. Burial will be at Brunson Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home. She was born in Marathon and moved to Eunice, N.M., in 1979 from San Jose, Calif. She was Catholic.

Survivors: Daughter, Jo Ann Ortega of Eunice, N.M.; sisters, Rosa Lee Renteria of Odessa and Eliza Estrada of Marathon; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Irene Garzon

PECOS -- Irene Orona Garzon, 60, of Pecos, homemaker, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, in Bakersfield, Calif.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home. She was a lifelong resident of Pecos. She was Catholic.

Survivors: Daughter, Isabel Garzon of Bakersfield, Calif.; sons, Ernesto Orona and Luiz Garzon Jr. of Bakersfield, Calif.; brothers, Manuel Orona of Stockton, Calif., Santiago Orona, Leandron Orona, Fernando Orona Sr., Jesse Orona, Casmiro Orona, all of Pecos, Ramon Orona of Midland; sisters, Maria Licon of Pecos, Maria Alvarado of Fort Davis, Maria Lobato of Littlefield and Ramona Cortez of Lamount, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lucille Halamicek

MCCAMEY -- Lucille Halamicek, 96, of McCamey, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at the Upton County Convalescent Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven cemetery with the Rev. Jodie Windbigler officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home. She was born in Bellville and moved to McCamey in 1926. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Son, Eddy Halamicek of McCamey.

Peggy Dalton

MONAHANS -- Peggy Ann Dalton, 44, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harkey Funeral Home with the Rev. Wanda Lemons officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Cortland, N.Y. She was a member of the New Life Center. Survivors: Husband, Amuel Dalton of Monahans; parents, Sherman and Gertrude Edwards of Monahans; sons, Samuel Dalton of Mansfield, Jessie Dalton of Midland; brothers, Danny Edwards of Glendale, Ariz., John Edwards of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Roman Gonzalez

ODESSA -- Roman M. Gonzalez, 75, of Odessa, a retired employee of Comanche Feed Yard, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today and Friday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Luis Cepeda officiating. Mass will also be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Burial will be in Fort Stockton cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Sanderson. He was Catholic.

Survivors: Wife, Guadalupe Gonzalez of Odessa; sons, Ramon Gonzalez Jr. of Midland, Raymond Gonzalez and Stephen Gonzalez Sr., both of San Angelo; step-son, Mark Anthony Lujan of Odessa; daughters, Esmeralda Cuellar and Susie Nelson, both of San Angelo, Elva Sanchez of Odessa, Lucy Belen Gonzalez and Mary Alice Gonzalez, both of San Angelo, Alejandro Escamilla Sr. of Sanderson, Rosendo Casias Jr. of Fort Stockton, Eugenio Marquez of Dixie, Calif.; step-daughters, Yvonne Trevino and Martha Gonzales, both of Fort Stockton; sisters, Elena Gonzalez of Fort Stockton and Barbara Valles of Monahans.

Jesse Henderson

ODESSA -- Jesse W. Henderson, 83, of Brownwood, a retired oilfield dispatcher and longtime Odessa resident, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Paris and was a longtime resident of Odessa. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Son, Clayton W. Henderson and Edgar L. Henderson, both of Dallas; step-son, Lee Dool of Houston; daughter, Nina Gray of Brownwood; sisters, Josie Davis of Oklahoma City, Edna Rittenberry of Odessa, Marie Webb of Dallas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Ayers

ODESSA -- Robert Ayers, 50, of Midland, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, in Crane.

Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
